Wig’s Word of God Today 3-1-2011
Give to the Most High as he has given to you, generously, according to your means. Sirach 35:9
Peter began to say to him, “We have given up everything and followed you.” Mark 10:28
But many that are first will be last, and (the) last will be first.” Mark 10:31
Sirach 35:1-12, Psalm 50:5-6, 7-8, 14 and 23 & Mark 10:28-31
There is a joy in giving that resounds in the soul of every loving human bringing forth pleasing grace’s from our LORD. The LORD our God repays goodness with graces abundantly and seeks to teach humanity His loving ways of faith, charity and love. I read a story of a man who began walking across America in search of himself but realizing once he was out there that God wanted to use him to share graces of His Word by giving out Bibles to whoever the Spirit leads him. The reactions he received from a majority of the public were spite and disgust for he himself seemed to be homeless instead of a man who was on a mission for God. Thanks Ruthie for sharing!
There is many a soul wondering the streets of the world who are there because they want to be closer to God in a way we can’t understand. They are sleeping in bushes and ditches allowing the humility of homelessness grace their being in such a way that there’s only one way to know or understand what they feel is by actually experiencing living on the streets first hand. The Disciples gave up everything to follow Jesus to become a wondering homeless preacher of His Truth. They wondered around in the streets embracing the elements of the Father in loving their love of Christ by being last for they knew in their hearts they would be first through the gates of heaven.
There was a time when I embraced being homeless as a lesson from God to know the Angels of the world who lived a life of shelter less exsistance but who embraced the nature as a gift from God. I hugged, gave my last dime and spoke to many a homeless person then ranging in age from 15 to 75 who were seeking obscurity from the sin of the world as I recalled the same Scripture passage I read last night that brought tears to my eyes for I had lived and witnessed what the LORD is doing to the homeless of the world. My tears were joyous tears filed with the Spirit of God embracing Matthew 25:34-36. “Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.”
So we ask in prayer: Heavenly Father, we pray today for the homeless of the world. May they embrace Your Son’s Truth in living a life of obscurity. We pray today people see the eyes of Christ in the hungry, the thirsty and the imprisoned. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
God Bless,
