Wig’s Word of God Today 12-10-2010
If you would hearken to my commandments, your prosperity would be like a river, and your vindication like the waves of the sea. Isaiah 48:18
But wisdom is vindicated by her works. Luke 11:19c
Isaiah 48:17-19, Psalm 1:1-2, 3, 4 and 6 & Matthew 11:16-19
There is a poem Mother Teresa of Calcutta is said to have placed on a wall at her home for children and in her personal room titled “You and God.” The last stanza reflects the following: “It is between you and God; It never was between you and them anyway.” Mother Teresa shared her understanding of “wisdom is vindicated by her works” through her daily life of faith, hope, charity and love. She never allowed anyone to sway her determination to give more to the poor, more to the homeless or more to the sick and dying. She picked up people lying in the streets dying of AIDS and gave them a place to die in comfort, honor and peace. She followed the commandments of the Lord and her life was filled prosperity and her vindication was the people she led to join her way of giving, prayer and hope to the countless people they are still helping today 13 years after her death. Is it between you and God or is it between you and them anyway?
Isaiah tells us to allow God to teach us what is right and Christ reminds us that “wisdom is vindicated by her works.” Even as Jesus was being called a “glutton and a drunkard,” He was steadfast is teaching His New Covenant of faith, hope and love. People look at others as if they know them when they make comments or gossip about complete strangers. The Bible teaches us not to judge your fellow neighbors in James 4:12, “Do not speak evil of one another, brothers. Whoever speaks evil of a brother or judges his brother speaks evil of the law and judges the law. If you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.” Loving your love of Christ allows you to look at everyone as a Brother or Sister in Christ where your wisdom is vindicated by your works.
And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we continue or nine-day of prayers for the young man Jhaysonn suffering from cancer. Today Lord, I ask specifically in prayer to help find a young man kidnapped in Mexico by the terrorist who have been raging war there on their citizens. He is a relative of a close friend who is devout to Your Son’s Truth. Teach us all Lord to follow Your Works to accomplish Truth in living and live Your Will in all we do. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:28
Wisdom Vindicated Works So Firm
Good is taught by our Lord
His Word our guide to implore
His Commandments sure to endure
The Salvation of Christ to ensure
Stay clear of the wicked at heart
Your dreams and joys will part
Walking not with sinners in the park
Seeking God in all you do from the start
This generation needs to learn
John the Baptist’s call of concern
Repentance of sin to yearn
Wisdom vindicated works so firm
