For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-23-2011

For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with the wisdom of human eloquence, so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied of its meaning. 1 Corinthians 1:17

From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17

Isaiah 8:23-9:3-1, Psalm 27:1, 4, 13-14, 1 Corinthians 1:10-13, 17 & Matthew 4:12-23

How do you feel about your harvest? Your spoils God has blessed you with. Do you use them all in the Name of the Lord? Is it possible to do everything for Him with every breath you take? Do you dream about Christ’s Truth? As Anne Graham Lotz wrote: “My Jesus is Everything.” Is He your everything? Can you allow Jesus to “smash” all the self-centered things cluttering your life? There is so much clutter in a person’s life. There is a “yoke of burden” Christ will eliminate by the Trust you place in glorifying His Father to accomplish His Truth in your life. I can see how Mother Theresa was so successful after leaving her school and placing herself on the streets in the midst of so much death and despair. She emptied herself of all possessions trusting God would lead her, guide her and protect her. Where would life take you if you committed to “denying yourself for His sake?”

When you loose all fear and the Holy Spirit leads you in everything you say and do, a tranquil feeling emerges in your soul and you know everything is the way God wants it to be. You see it in people you surround yourself with in Christ. An “Armor of God” to accomplish all for the Glory of the Father. Where would our world be if we all agreed on the love of Christ and the Divine Teachings of Holy Scripture? Paul reminds us to be One in God to accomplish living in peace and harmony. Will the world outgrow God? What a scary thought. But our world is in need of Truth leading us by the people of today to accomplish the good of tomorrow. Isaiah wrote the journey of Christ by the Holy Spirit enlightening his soul. When Jesus went to Capernaum by the sea to live, Isaiah traced His footsteps by the Great Light of the Lord and Jesus began preaching “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Ultimately, His Father’s Will brought Him to ask two brothers, ““Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Once again, proof of when you deny yourself for your love of loving Christ, you empty yourself of all barriers to accomplish only the Will of God for the Good of Humanity.

In prayer we ask: Dear Heavenly Father, today we pray for the ability to deny ourselves for the sake of Christ’s love. We repent again today of anything we might have done to offend You LORD. Allow us to preach the Gospel in the Great Light of Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

About Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

My name is Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins. I first recognize Christ as my Savior in all things. I am married to my best friend and Soul-Mate in Christ, Antonia Cruz-Wiggins. I am a University of Florida graduate of Public Relations, a US Navy Veteran and a Montessori Elementary School Teacher. I love life and God's help of living it! I follow the Light of Christ in everything I do! I love writing poetry about the Lord and I create a new poem from each Scripture I discern in my daily mediations. You can almost follow the poem by looking at the readings for each day. I started sharing this small yet personal scripture study four years ago when one day I was reading the bible and the Holy Spirit moved me to share the verse with a group of about 40 Christian Men in my Emmaus Ministry who get together weekly to celebrate the Lord and talk about His Truth. Since then the number of people I share my study with has grown to over 650. I enjoy an open loving dialog about anything I write and I have strived to write what I know the Lord wants me to share steering clear of offending anyone’s spiritual beliefs because I share my work with people I meet in public when I strike up a conversation about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It took almost 2 years to begin writing what the Holy Spirit leads me to say. I believe that all Christians must unite as One Body of Christ’s Love to accomplish the joy of living with love, honor and respect. I reach out to Humanity to share His Salvation be it Baptist, Catholic, Protestant, Episcopal or any other religion or belief. I seek to mirror His Compassion, His Simpleness, His Charity and His Love. While I am Catholic, I believe we must all unite in the Lord to become One Body in Christ to bring our children back to The Church. I am humbled to share my study with you. Please feel free to comment any time. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is my Joy because I am a Disciple of His Truth. I am honored to share my Bible study with anyone you may recommend. As always, I remain, Yours in Christ, Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins
