Death Drink Allowed Embittered Feelings Somehow

Give strong drink to anyone who is perishing and wine to the embittered; When they drink, they will forget their misery, and think no more of their troubles. Proverbs 31:6-7

Therefore, we who are receiving the unshakable kingdom should have gratitude, with which we should offer worship pleasing to God in reverence and awe. For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28-29

They drove out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them. Mark 6:13

Proverbs 31:6-7, Hebrews 12:18-29 & Mark 6:7-13

There were times in my life where I didn’t understand why someone would drink to the point of blacking out awaking the next day without even a clue. My dad would often come home in that type of stupor swinging belts and yelling obscenities. I felt the sting of leather and the smell of liquor in overbearing hugs more than I felt the enjoyment of doing dad things all the while being raised by neighborhood misfits. I was embittered as he chasing away the pain of the world never stopping to understand the need of fidelity.

Yes, you will forget your misery in the sweet smell of cognac or the refreshing taste of beer on the weekend boat ride for God will let you enjoy the pleasurable taste of all drink in celebration toasting the joy God gives your heart truly asking we carry it not to the point of never remembering. God wants you to remember the joys of His grace from a good wine as much as a good shot of tequila but He wants you to be grateful in worship in awe of the less lest we receive His “consuming fire.”

God will make you suffer from the self living in excess yet will reward your celebration in moderation to never forget never not be thankful. He can cure you of this excess by placing every thought, action and deed to be centered around Him or as good friend put last night in our prison ministry meeting, “I think about God all the time.” Yes, let us practice the Word of God daily to live in His grace by constant prayer knowing forgiveness in the shadows of lust by proclaiming your freedom in Him a must. Amen.

We ask in prayer. Dear LORD, we pray for moderation by fidelity in You LORD. Pryers for Kairos Prison #50. Prayers for my son Jeff. Prayers for Dr. Cruz†Peluca.  LORD from Proverbs 27:11 I chant; “Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart, so that I can answer whoever taunts me.” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

About Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

My name is Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins. I first recognize Christ as my Savior in all things. I am married to my best friend and Soul-Mate in Christ, Antonia Cruz-Wiggins. I am a University of Florida graduate of Public Relations, a US Navy Veteran and a Montessori Elementary School Teacher. I love life and God's help of living it! I follow the Light of Christ in everything I do! I love writing poetry about the Lord and I create a new poem from each Scripture I discern in my daily mediations. You can almost follow the poem by looking at the readings for each day. I started sharing this small yet personal scripture study four years ago when one day I was reading the bible and the Holy Spirit moved me to share the verse with a group of about 40 Christian Men in my Emmaus Ministry who get together weekly to celebrate the Lord and talk about His Truth. Since then the number of people I share my study with has grown to over 650. I enjoy an open loving dialog about anything I write and I have strived to write what I know the Lord wants me to share steering clear of offending anyone’s spiritual beliefs because I share my work with people I meet in public when I strike up a conversation about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It took almost 2 years to begin writing what the Holy Spirit leads me to say. I believe that all Christians must unite as One Body of Christ’s Love to accomplish the joy of living with love, honor and respect. I reach out to Humanity to share His Salvation be it Baptist, Catholic, Protestant, Episcopal or any other religion or belief. I seek to mirror His Compassion, His Simpleness, His Charity and His Love. While I am Catholic, I believe we must all unite in the Lord to become One Body in Christ to bring our children back to The Church. I am humbled to share my study with you. Please feel free to comment any time. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is my Joy because I am a Disciple of His Truth. I am honored to share my Bible study with anyone you may recommend. As always, I remain, Yours in Christ, Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins
