Wig’s Word of God Today 12-13-2010
Guide me in Your Truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior. For you I wait all the long day, because of Your goodness, LORD. Psalm 25:5
Numbers 24:2-7, 15-17a, Psalm 25:4-5ab, 6 and 7bc, 8-9 & Matthew 21:23-27
There are times in all of our lives we cannot understand why something happened. We try and try but it seems to escape us. We might even say, “God, you got this wrong; why did my dad have to die.” I reflected on this statement when I pulled over with four kids in my car as we drove home from church yesterday next to a lady and a little girl placing flowers by a sign of someone who had been killed in a car accident on Krome Ave. I pulled up and asked, “I’m sorry to disturb you, but I was wondering if me and the children could pray for you?” The lady smiled and said yes and I asked her who the sign was for. She replied, “My husband, her father.” And she told me his name. I said to the children immediately “we are going to pray for her husband and this little girl’s father” as the woman bowed her head the little child joined her and I prayed aloud. The mother looked up at me as I finished and she smiled saying “thank you.” We all waived goodbye with a “God Bless You both and bye little girl” while they both smiled and waived back.
It’s hard to trust and let go sometimes. The Chief Priests were no different when they questioned Jesus here in Matthew 21:23-37 saying, “By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?” Jesus replied, “I shall ask you one question, and if you answer it for Me, then I shall tell you by what authority I do these things. Where was John’s baptism from? Was it of heavenly or of human origin?” As they discussed it amongst one another, they too were embarrassed and frightened to answer for John was a mighty Prophet indeed and all the people loved him. This fright is a natural feeling; can we let go and let God be the center of our lives? Do we question Him regarding the death of a loved one or seek comfort from Him? The Free Will God gives all Humanity has no limits and sometimes because of this Free Will bad things can happen. It’s how we react and share this tragic event in our life is what makes us God-fearing people. When you love your love of Christ, you love His Father’s Will and celebrate it in good times and in bad times knowing He can comfort you if you allow Him to.
And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we continue our nine-day of prayers for Jhaysonn’s healing and peace. Today we pray for all those who have lost loved ones that You Lord may give them peace during this Christmas Season. Guide us in Your Truth Lord and teach us to be a people of faith, hope, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
God Bless,

God’s Redemption to Know
Orate your voice
To the Spirit of Life
Seek what God says
Trust His Son’s fight
He fights for justice
He fights for love
He fights the darkness
Of Satan’s sinful shove
He will teach you
Guide you by His Word
Be humble in His justice
Giving kindness to a bird
To confront and question
Chief Priests fought Him so
His authority came from Heaven
