When we sit in grief it’s hard not to give in completely throwing in the towel so to speak wallowing in an ache that never seems to go away. It comes for many who have cancer or a car accident but just as many with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder feel this threat constantly unable to escape the feelings of shame or hopelessness. Job was no different than you and I as he felt the shame of suffering sighing aloud the fear he cannot escape.

With good friends sitting with him in his misery he opened up sharing the discomfort yet never defaming his Maker or grumbling against the God he loved so much. He would soon hear his pals reprove him pondering the chant of prayer this week, “Is not your piety a source of confidence and your integrity of life your hope?” If only our own pals will stand by us with such love doing for God what we do for those in need. Amen.

Job 3:16-20

For Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous, that He might lead you to God. Put to death in the flesh, He was brought to life in the Spirit. First Peter 3:18

And a voice came from the heavens, “You are my beloved Son; with You I am well pleased.” At once the Spirit drove Him out into the desert, and He remained in the desert for forty days, tempted by Satan. He was among wild beasts, and the angels ministered to Him. Mark 1:11-13

Job 3:16-20, First Peter 3:18-22 & Mark 1:12-15

Death some say is a final frontier but God reminds us constantly it will be Eternal Peace where some believe have souls floating in ghost-like features seeing through the body turned to dust as light smoke lingering in your shell’s silhouette. We do what we do for God hoping we cared enough to be called home to an Angelic place called Heaven. Job certainly expresses death in this resting place where no one can get in trouble knowing repose in a cease of worries forgetting the pains of temptation enjoying life of self-will.

We too must be brought to the life in the Spirit living righteous behavior “for the sake of the unrighteous” to help lead more souls to Heaven staying out of the flesh to honor the Spirit of Truth. It may take you 40 days and nights to find the habit of being surrendered as you too will become ministered by angels in your darkest needs of soul’s revival. The Spirit will drive you to find Charity in your thoughts, Charity in your action and Charity in your deeds. Death has no fight in the silence of Truth’s delight. Amen.

Why did I not die in the womb, why did I not perish when I came out of the belly? Job 3:11

Perished from belly pain

Why did I not die in the womb, why did I not perish when I came out of the belly? Job 3:11

Then you will cry for help and Yahweh will answer; you will call and he will say, ‘I am here.’ If you do away with the yoke, the clenched fist and malicious words, if you deprive yourself for the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, your light will rise in the darkness, and your darkest hour will be like noon. Isaiah 58:9-10

Jesus said to them in reply, ‘It is not those that are well who need the Doctor, but the sick. I have come to call not the upright but sinners to repentance.’ Luke 5:31-32

Job 3:11-15, Isaiah 58:9-14 & Luke 5:27-32

We never do get tired of complaining and it may seem like Job’s doing the same thing as he continues his dialogue of one man’s misfortunes wanting like most to never be born when situations arise we struggle to cope with. Sometimes the coping goes on for year-and-years reliving a fear in our inability to let go and let God be God. We want Him to solve our problems here-and-now screaming aloud the resounding misery of self unable to find the reasons to place God First without knowledge of how to practice surrender.

Your surrender allows your cry for help to be answered giving you the understanding of how the Spirit will guide you as One with Christ. Instead of complaining and moaning or groaning we can turn script into wisdom by sharing His Word in every thought, action and deed grasping practice, prayer and proclamation of forgiveness living Charity. We live Christ in this need to give where we might not give before. We find a Light glowing in the darkness calling “sinners to repentance” where our moans become love.

We must love above all else allowing faith in Charity- Jesus be the hope we give our love to so as to love anyone we come across and call our friends in Christ or people of Goodwill for humanity. We may not always see eye-to-eye in our revelation of God’s Truth or understand the graces given by God in a complete surrender yet we must share the Gospel in all ways the Spirit will call you to share. We must never let pride get in our way of living what God will call each of us to know. Once practice begins prayer life will never end and Truth will be seen in every shadow your life will offer to Christ. Amen.

We ask in prayer. Dear LORD, we pray to help those who cry for help by living God First. Novena prayers day one for St. Louis Emmaus brothers. Novena prayers Day seven for our Run for Life team. May the stars of its twilight be darkened; may it look for daylight, but have none, nor gaze on the eyes of the dawn, Because it did not keep shut the doors of the womb to shield my eyes from trouble! Job 3:9-10

Is it not sharing your bread with the hungry, bringing the afflicted and the homeless into your house; Clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your wound shall quickly be healed; Your vindication shall go before you, and the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer, you shall cry for help, and He will say: “Here I am!” Isaiah 58:7-9a

Job 3:6-10, Isaiah 58:1-9 & Matthew 9:14-15

No matter whom you are, God is going to test you and no matter who you are, you are going to complain to God about how you feel shaken or torn from the very foundation you surrendered to. Something in the “world” will try and separate you from the Spirit when you let your practice and prayer life never be proclaimed. You will find yourself bellowing like Job whether you believe God is the Creator of the Universe or not.

We give our all to a life of placing God First by sharing love with strangers as well as our friends and family wanting like most to live in a content state of welcome loving all sharing as called. You too will protest the unwanted pain of allusion, accident or anger never wanting the boils of frustration to infect your daily routine. In having the agony of any sickness, disaster or disease, call out in mourning allowing God to hear your misery staying focused serving the afflicted with warm clothes, conversation and calm. Amen.

After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed his day. Job spoke out and said: Perish the day on which I was born, the night when they said, “The child is a boy!” Job 3:1-3

See, I have today set before you life and good, death and evil. If you obey the commandments of the LORD, your God, which I am giving you today, loving the LORD, your God, and walking in his ways, and keeping his commandments, statutes and ordinances, you will live and grow numerous, and the LORD, your God, will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. Deuteronomy 30:15-16

Job 3:1-5, Deuteronomy 30:15-20 & Luke 9:22-25

We hear the cries of the dejected in Job’s response to his friends after reportedly sitting for seven days and nights postulating in his “great suffering” doing what most of us should do, which is just sit and be there for your friend. Finally Job cries out in response thinking God would rather have him not be born than to suffer through such physical pain as he oozed the unpleasant evil Satan had bequeathed him trying his love of God.

Unbeknownst to Job is the authorized test God had given him through Satan remaining blameless yet terrified and hurt. Not being born seems like a good answer at the time but Job will await his fate in God remaining in Him for God does restore the souls of the surrendered giving them every trial known to man. We will hear of this surrender in so many responses to the “friends” who God will chastise in the end as He instructs Job to pray for their guidance and forgiveness as his lost life becomes found by trust. Amen.

Most times this era of our life is made silent to reflect as much as groan from whatever pain God has allowed you to bring yourself to. We find in life that God brings most to their knees by forgetting to be thankful daily less you Salvation to pray unceasingly over everything you do.

So the Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD and struck Job with severe boils from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head. He took a potsherd to scrape himself, as he sat among the ashes. Then his wife said to him, “Are you still holding to your innocence? Job 2:7-10, Genesis 6:5-8; 7:1-10 & Mark 8:14-21

Accepting the good seems naturally received while even thinking about evil makes many feel fright above and beyond the call of duty. Stop and look at your past and feel the evil once relayed no matter the fashion or maybe you feel as if evil surrounds your very beliefs right now yet you still crave for virtue to stamp out your inability to think pure thoughts. The self will battle the inner call of envy allowing greed to push aside God as you lust after the flash and flair of worldly opinions creatively devised to steal your soul.

We find self-will weak and worrisome searching for admiration or status in the midst of humanity’s need of true Charity originating to remove wickedness making mankind’s heart clean to enjoy and reap Salvation. Job knew his life was at the mercy of God and he acted in thanksgiving for everything he ever experienced. You too can see this love for in faith we garner the hope to trust God with any situation being not disappointed when unpleasant events occurred stating “not my will but yours Father.” Good gives evil exasperation allowing all love learning charming Charity sharing Salvation. When we live through tragedy, we find either a will to live in self or grow in the Covenant God provides in our faith to share His hope of happiness celebrating peace from grace given through an ever-forgiving God from every imaginable life experience. Nothing we have done will ever not be noticed there is no where we can hide in untruth. The untruth will lead us to death something Job avoided in his perils by the complete surrender to God’s Divine Will. He celebrated every grace no matter the outcome being forever thankful for the joining of his family to every circumstance life had offered.

Being thankful doesn’t mean he didn’t mourn and mourn loudly wailing to God his loss but as he wept he also worshipped being ever grateful for time spent with loved ones as much as being a humble man of wealth and stature. We will soon hear Job say we love good but fail to respect evil in the consequences we exemplify in misfortune. Surrender is complete when you see the purpose of God in your Salvation resting in the Marital Covenant Works that rebukes Satan’s advances no matter the temptation. We must embrace this Covenant the Spirit sign resting as One with God complete. Amen.

Job 1:20-22, First Corinthians 10:31-11:1 & Mark 1:40-45

In giving to God First, we find the reasons to worship with our whole heart realizing God does not take away the pain you feel as Job did when he “tore his cloak and cut off his hair.” When Job found out the devastation his family had occurred, he naturally reacted in mourning losing not the desire to worship God but being thankful for the time allowed in the graces he had built by living for God First in enjoying his children.

In pleasing God First, Paul wanted everyone no matter the spectrum of family lineage to know the Salvation of Christ who in all things learns to imitate Christ as the practice, prayer and proclamation required to see the glory of God in every thought, action and deed. We are imitators not for our own benefit but that of the souls we encounter by being the hands and feet of Christ sharing what Jesus does Will as Life Eternal. Amen.

Satan tests Job will God be the victor?

He was still speaking when another came and said, “God’s fire has fallen from heaven and struck the sheep and the servants and consumed them; I alone have escaped to tell you.” Job 1:16

To the man (God) said: Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I Commanded you, You shall not eat from it, Cursed is the ground because of you! In toil you shall eat its yield all the days of your life. Genesis 3:17

(Jesus said,) “My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, because they have been with Me now for three days and have nothing to eat.” Mark 8:2

Job 1:13-19, Genesis 3:9-24 & Mark 8:1-10

We begin reviewing the first problems Job is faced with as Satan begins to have his way with Job’s family and possessions. Job listens to four separate messengers relay they are the only ones left to tell him what affliction has landed in his homestead as three separate raids are conducted stealing livestock and murdering along with a “great wind” that smashes his son’s home killing all inside except the one who brings the message stating, “I alone have escaped to tell you.” God will watch his servant soon pray as he laments his thanksgiving for enjoying the graces God bestows even in self-loved strife we seem unable to escape from living in a human will as God’s Will instructs us.

God has always been ultimately filled with pity for His created humankind cursing yet forgiving in the very end. Just as God would prove his loyalty to Job we too must prove our loyalty with spouse and Charity itself living God First in the prevails and trials of the world’s enticements. Showing loyalty to God First is rewarded in the grace of Redemption constantly available never denied prepared to accept the sorry of trying to be what Satan described to Adam and Eve, “God knows well that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, who know good and evil.” We are not God and therefore either must accept or deny the pity His heart is moved by. Amen.

We ask in prayer. Dear LORD, we pray to accept Your pity LORD. Novena prayers Day six for Jerry Metello. Prayers for Kairos Prison #50. Prayers for my son Jeff.
