Wig’s Word of God Today 11-1-2010
Salvation comes from our God, Who is seated on the throne, and from the Lamb. Revelation 7:10
Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14, Psalm 24:1bc-2, 3-4ab, 5-6, 1 John 3:1-3 & Matthew 5:1-12a
The visions of John account for the end times but seem to have a comforting effect on humanity. God’s chosen people who have followed His Son’s Truth are afforded protection from the approaching destruction. A multitude of people who come from all over the globe stand before the Throne in Heaven wearing the sign of joy in white robs while waving the signs of victory in a palm branch. Victory is ours sayeth the Lord of Lords and our Salvation only comes from our love of His Son. “Salvation comes from our God, Who is seated on the throne, and from the Lamb.” Revelation 7:10 I can just imagine the Angels in Heaven bowing before God exclaiming, “Amen. Blessing and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving, honor, power, and might be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 7:12 This passage of Revelation encourages us all to persevere in Christ even to the point of death knowing our reward will be great in Heaven as we enjoy eternal life. A friend of mine spent a year in Rome serving the poor and the hungry. He spoke about how many people died there for their love of Christ. These Martyrs endured unspeakable atrocities such as gouging of the eyes with hot pokers, fried in boiling oil or even having their arms and body parts hacked off by swords. History tells us that these men and women sung hymns up to the point of their death. Your surrender to Christ can give you the same confidence of a love so strong that you can endure anything your life has to offer here in the 20th Century.
God came to the earth as the meek of the meek and His descriptions of those who are blessed describes those who are as low as low can go. He gives the Kingdom of Heaven to the poor in spirit while comforting those who mourn. He gives the land to the meek while giving satisfaction to those who hunger or thirst. He shows mercy to the merciful and promises the clean of heart they will see God. He calls the peacemakers the Children of God and blesses those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness handing over to them the Keys to Heaven. Finally, He says, “Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in Heaven.” Matthew 5:11-12 By loving your love of Christ, you too are blessed and will see the Kingdom of Heaven.
And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we pray today for wisdom to always give to those who hunger or thirst seeking only a clean heart to accomplish Your Will. Guide us to be unafraid of sharing the Truth of Christ and be ever giving to those less fortunate than us. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
God Bless,
