the Father is in Me and I am in the Father

Wig’s Word oof God Today 4-15-2011

Sing to the LORD, praise the LORD, For He has rescued the life of the poor from the power of the wicked! Jeremiah 20:13

If I do not perform My Father’s works, do not believe Me; but if I perform them, even if you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may realize (and understand) that the Father is in Me and I am in the Father. John 10:37-38

Jeremiah 20:10-13, Psalm 18 & John 10:31-42

Today there is a theme of trusting in God’s Will to overcome any and all obstacles including the injustices of people who do not understand the message he shares from the LORD. I met such a man yesterday as I journeyed to my ESOL class in North Miami. He was sitting on a curb slumped over at a gas station/ McDonalds. I approached him without him noticing and I bent down and asked him if I could buy him a hamburger. He slowly raised his head peering at me through eyes of emerald green with a long beard and mustache smiling and said, “I don’t like hamburgers but I sure would like a fish sandwich.” “My friend, ” I replied, “Yes sir, a fish sandwich it is, Would you like something to drink and some fries?” His smile grew wider and he said, “I’m craving a Coca-Cola.” “Yes sir,” I replied, ” I’ll have you some supper in just a bit.” As I walked off to enter the store he said after me, “I didn’t ask you for a thing but the LORD sent me an Angel today to feed me.”

I came back out with a fish sandwich and a Coca-Cola and he was still in the same place. I stepped off the curb and sat down next to him and extended my hand stating, my name is Thomas, what’s yours?” He replied, “my name is John grabbing my hand. Go figure, we both have Biblical names,” as we both chuckled at one another. For the next 10 minutes I sat and prayed with John as we talked about his life as a homeless person and his experiences on the harsh road of living in the streets of America. John was a college educated man, “I went to Baptist college and I was raised in the Word.” As we sat and talked to one another, I noticed John’s tattered clothes, rough hands and dirty arms and legs. His finger nails were broken and black and his exposed areas of his legs and arms were caked in dirt. I asked him, “when’s the last time you had a shower?” He smiled, he always smiled and said, “I can’t remember when.” Tears welled up in my eyes and I told him I’d be back next week to get him and he’d have a place to shower and sleep for the night in comfort.

I was ashamed my busy life didn’t allow me to take him to a motel right then and instead I asked John where he was camping which was just around the corner as he pointed up the street a ways. I then stood and asked him to stand too. He was frail as I took his arms and lifted him up to embrace me and pray with me in a hug that seemed to last for at least a minute. He whispered in my ear crying, “I haven’t been held by anyone in such a long time. God sent me an Angel who has comforted me in my time of distress.” “I am just a messenger of the LORD’s love who can set you free from any bondage,” I replied. “Seek Him and find His Truth. I’ll see you next week!” As I walked away, I smiled and waved and he was repeating, “I didn’t ask him for nothin, no sir, nothin.” When we embrace our love of loving Christ Jesus, we can share the Works of Christ to friends and strangers alike. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, today I pray for John who lives in a world full of uncertainty but lives in a world of faith in Your Son’s Truth. Protect the lonely and give them Angel’s of mercy to give them hope. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

In My Works See the Father

He shared His Father’s Truth
In works of mercy as proof
Death of works has no faith
Stones of nonsense and hate

The Word of God came from He
The Father Who’s works I see
I am Son of God you will need
Your sins will disappear indeed

In My works see the Father
His strength is in me as I in Him
There is nothing impossible to win
I am the Light of Salvation’s grin

About Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

My name is Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins. I first recognize Christ as my Savior in all things. I am married to my best friend and Soul-Mate in Christ, Antonia Cruz-Wiggins. I am a University of Florida graduate of Public Relations, a US Navy Veteran and a Montessori Elementary School Teacher. I love life and God's help of living it! I follow the Light of Christ in everything I do! I love writing poetry about the Lord and I create a new poem from each Scripture I discern in my daily mediations. You can almost follow the poem by looking at the readings for each day. I started sharing this small yet personal scripture study four years ago when one day I was reading the bible and the Holy Spirit moved me to share the verse with a group of about 40 Christian Men in my Emmaus Ministry who get together weekly to celebrate the Lord and talk about His Truth. Since then the number of people I share my study with has grown to over 650. I enjoy an open loving dialog about anything I write and I have strived to write what I know the Lord wants me to share steering clear of offending anyone’s spiritual beliefs because I share my work with people I meet in public when I strike up a conversation about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It took almost 2 years to begin writing what the Holy Spirit leads me to say. I believe that all Christians must unite as One Body of Christ’s Love to accomplish the joy of living with love, honor and respect. I reach out to Humanity to share His Salvation be it Baptist, Catholic, Protestant, Episcopal or any other religion or belief. I seek to mirror His Compassion, His Simpleness, His Charity and His Love. While I am Catholic, I believe we must all unite in the Lord to become One Body in Christ to bring our children back to The Church. I am humbled to share my study with you. Please feel free to comment any time. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is my Joy because I am a Disciple of His Truth. I am honored to share my Bible study with anyone you may recommend. As always, I remain, Yours in Christ, Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins
