Wig’s Word of God Today 7-25-2011
The life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body. 2 Corinthians 4:10b
Whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave. Matthew 20:26b-27
2 Corinthians 4:7-15, Psalm 126 & Matthew 20: 20-28
There’s not a part of your body you can’t say is not affected by something or someone in your life driven from selfish wants or needs. Paul teaches us ““We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus,” 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 There is always going to be something or someone around you serving their needs trying to drive you down from gossip or jealously but our goal must be fixed on Christ Jesus. His Cross. His Suffering. His Way.
It’s never between them and you anyway. It’s you and Him. Three Persons in One. I know, it sounds confusing but it’s not. God wants us to have everything in life happiness may bring but He also wants us to allow Him to teach us and guide us by our driven need to study His Word and Proclaim His Wondrous Truth. His Freedom. His Redemption. We are destined to return to the earth as ash but in faith I proclaim His Goodness through Paul’s words; “we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.” 2 Corinthians 4:11 Though I may die I will die in Jesus.
When we serve any type of weekend or longer retreats or revivals, we seek to be His Servant and guide our heart, mind and body to establish a union of communion with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit constantly seeking to allow His Spirit to flow in us. Even the desolate and the dirty. I see it all the time in the way people react to others on the street. The people struggling the most with addictions, alcohol and homelessness. They wonder around in a state of confusion seeking the next high or drunk abandoning their life to the woods in a drunken stupor. Yes, it’s not pretty but it’s happening on every corner in America and the world. Reaching out to them in confidence in the LORD brings about conversion for these people and can save their lives from complete destruction. Reaching out to give them hope.
While in Jesup, I attended my cousin’s church after Mass Sunday morning and I was blessed to have the opportunity to meet the Apostle Ray and listen to his passion and teachings of the LORD and our friend Jesus Christ. He moved me with the sweet sounds of his God’s anointed tongue and it was a pleasure to sit and talk to him after their service over lunch. You know, the kind of fellowship you ache to have with people every day. Godly talk equals Godly actions.
As the service was ending, a tall frail midlife aged male walked in literally shaking. His demeanor was hunched over and passive almost aching. I asked him, “How are you?” He replied, “Not so good today.” He sat and worshipped for a while and asked the Apostle if he could play his guitar when the service was over. This man’s eyes changed when he touched that instrument. Standing straight up smiling. He sat down and began playing all the while sporting a smile and joy in his eyes. During the lunch Apostle Ray told me he lets him play to cheer him up and give him hope in Jesus. You see, this tall shaking man is the town drunk who is searching for God’s guidance from His Servant. Can you serve without prejudice? Can you serve without wonder or worry? Can you serve just because it’s the right thing to do? Apostle Ray showed me serving God can be given to humanity even in the holding and playing of a guitar. The act of serving is truly the deepest way to serve God and share His Son’s Salvation. Amen.
So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today for Kelly’s continued healing. We pray for the people of the world who are sharing the Truth of Christ with humanity to always be lifted up by Your Promise. We pray for Eagle Vision Ministries success for Your Glory LORD. We pray for our journey home to be safe from Georgia. We pray all of this in Jesus Name. Amen.

God’s Glorious Humble Servitude-2 Corinthians 4
There is a treasure in death
We know and enjoy
Surpassing Power of God
I’ve known since I was a boy
Not constrained by affliction
Searching but not rude
Hunted not let alone
Knocked to our feet and crude
Carrying on in Truth
His Body living in ours
Manifested by belief
Christ’s Salvation power
Death is near in life’s presence
Faith driven by Spirit to prove
In abundance to rightfully choose
God’s Glorious Humble Servitude
