Wig’s Word of God Today 9-13-2011
Undeniably great is the mystery of devotion. 1 Timothy 3:16a
1 Timothy 3:1-16, Psalm 101 & Luke 7:11-17
For the past week I have been praying about a friend who has written me about devotion to Christ’s Will by his study of Romans 14:13 that got him to writing about as he describes the “foundation that cascades into repairing all the malaise of humanity.” Romans 14:13 states, “Then let us no longer judge one another, but rather resolve never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.” From his study of Romans he shared with me a strong insight I find necessary to share with the world. I have asked permission to reprint his thoughts and I shall do so here after considerable prayer.
“Paul has moved me to step out in very deep ways as of late, and probably because of everything we have endured (his son fought and beat cancer), but I find myself in quandary with all I see around me particularly in our politics whom shape our daily lives, and all the things that can cause bitterness that we choose to leverage against each other. Rather I feel that the unique nature of Jesus, who was called to insure we focus on helping each other, who by His long suffering and great pain found still greater value to emphasize charity in the world, I Peter 4:8, 2 Tim:
3-10, 1 Cor 13:1.
I cannot explain why Thomas, but it pierces my heart when I seek lately and hear not enough on the deeper meaning of the ‘stumbling block’ we all carry but that can only be tightly woven with charity, Rom 14:13. There is something going on here when the emphasis of a simple principle escapes the testament of many and the work of few. I do not hear God’s people talking about it loudly, mainly, and primarily as what it would appear to be a finer tool to change men’s hearts away from fear and faithlessness but toward the Cross, Charity hence build Faith…and it so seems as the gateway to faith but a building not entered, a line not met to me, that I must share it with someone who can appreciate my journey.
Furthermore, I have been reminded constantly by Paul’s deep heartfelt words that God has forgiven all of our iniquities Col 3:11 where “Christ is all, and in all”. That we should not be bound by our iniquities, never to be rehashed, and drive the doubtful of what Jesus lay upon the cross but that our path is cleansed, our sins forgiven, and our duty to faith and charity is underscored. I am yelling a crescendo never before known to me that somehow humanity must know the basis of all success for us, lay in our ability to develop charity and subsequent faith in others; without fear, without condition, without leading the Holy Spirit for it knows what to do.
As we all know too well our darkness and in so lose our charity toward each other, but that by only by removing those stumbling blocks and beginning with charity can we reach the dark heart 1 Cor 13:2. I know how much I must fail at this discovery, and it seems too simple that we should be seeking the good in each other no matter how small the seed be, but to bring a brighter light and shine it even brighter on that still small voice that lay within waiting, listening, harking on the hearts knowing…it is then when the quality of our service changes.
The question then becomes, how do we sprout forward the tiniest light of our goodness that is “in all”? How do we watch for each other and seek it out? It is a door that must be opened for each other to then let the light overtake the darkness that each step of Christ’s struggle to the cross illuminated. What else could it be then that enables so much evil in our world if we know not what we do?
So, my heart tells me over and over that we must find ways to focus on illuminating the road to charity that grips the heart to faith.
Thus my simple and first efforts I attempt.
I truly believe that this principle is represented in every act of Jesus while on earth, and feels like one of those obvious things that we have over complicated with knowledge and have somehow stopped hearing in our hearts, knowing as always that the tough business of finding methods to plant these seeds remains the challenge.”
So whatever this inspiration is I don’t know, but I am looking.
Your brother in Christ, Ron.
So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today for strong devotion to Your Son’s Truth. We pray to share His Truth with absolute obedience to His Word. We pray for Ron P. and his continued desires to study Your Word and share Your Truth. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s peace and healing. We pray for my Prison Ministry Team of Kairos. We pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
