Wig’s Word of God Today 11-20-2010
When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the abyss will wage war against them and conquer them and kill them. Revelation 11:7
Revelation 11:4-12, Psalm 144:1, 2, 9-10 & Luke 20:27-40
This chapter of Revelation has many symbols coming form various areas of the bible. The lamp stands and olive trees represent martyrs who come from the Book of Zechariah 4:14; “These are the two anointed who stand by the LORD of the whole earth.” Details of turning water to blood come from Exodus where Moses turns the Nile River into blood. The Fire from Heaven comes from the Book Kings where the Prophet Elijah calls down fire from heaven. I believe the Lord is calling on us to understand that while the Evil One may conquer some or even kill the faithful, Our Lord and Our God will triumph over death by the raising of all the faithful who surrender to a life of worship and praise of our God.
We must remember our God is a God of the living as Jesus reminds us here in Luke, Chapter 20; “They can no longer die, for they are like angels; and they are the children of God because they are the ones who will rise. That the dead will rise even Moses made known in the passage about the bush, when he called ‘Lord’ the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive.” Luke 20: 36-38
Yesterday, I spoke to a lady who had worked for a church for 19 years and was abruptly let go because of cutbacks being implemented. I was happy to hear she took this instance to begin a ministry of visiting the sick. When I heard of her situation at my weekly prayer muffin Friday, I took her number and called her immediately to visit my friend Chris Santello. As we spoke about our love of God together, I felt the Holy Spirit calling me to pray with her before we hung up. We prayed for her desire to visit the sick, fulfill God’s Will in her life and that she find new direction by her faithful love of Christ Jesus. I am reminded of her today when Jesus speaks of our God who is a God of the living for to Him all are alive. Her new ministry of visiting the sick will lift up the spirits of those who are ill by her prayer and visitation allowing them to know our God is a God of the living even when the worst of illnesses will strike you by her being an instrument of faith, hope and love. While she missed Chris in the hospital because he had been discharged the day before, I know in my heart she will provide comfort and prayer for him and many others in the future as she fulfills God’s Divine Plan for herself. If you know anyone who is sick and could use a visit from a special Christ-filled lady, please let me know and I’ll pass along her phone number.
And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we continue our nine days of prayer for healing and peace for Chris Santello. We pray today for Beverly Scott whose desire to follow Your Light and visit the sick and lonely will bring the Eyes of Christ to those hurting, confused and depressed. Give her Your strength Lord to accomplish Your Will in her ministry and guide all who are sick to Your Praise for the Glory of You in Heaven. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
God Bless,
