Wig’s Word of God Today 3-31-2011
Say to them: This is the nation which does not listen to the voice of the LORD, its God, or take correction. Faithfulness has disappeared; the word itself is banished from their speech. Jeremiah 7:28
Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD; cry out to the rock of our salvation. Psalm 95:1
Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters. Luke 11:23
Jeremiah 7:23-28, Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9 & Luke 11:14-23
Many of us awake each day and wonder if the LORD will place His wrath in our midst because of the selfish acts of sin we see occurring everywhere in our country as well as the world. Jeremiah warned his countrymen of the impending doom of worshipping false idols and his message has a profound impact on our everyday life today. Most would agree that “this is the nation which does not listen to the voice of the LORD, its God, or take correction. Faithfulness has disappeared; the Word itself is banished from their speech.” Jeremiah 7:28 It seems at times the false idols of today’s world are as numerous as the stars in the sky by the way mankind has placed its faith in turning to selfish acts of sin. The United States of America is no different and we as Christians must remain steadfast in our commitment to practice, pray and preach the Truth to the world. Amen.
Jesus had just taught the Disciples the LORD’s prayer and was teaching them to “ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Luke 11:9-10 Jesus then warns them by discerning their hearts when seeking a sign from Him from heaven saying, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house. And if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that it is by Beelzebul that I drive out demons. But if it is by the finger of God that (I) drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Luke 11:17-18,20
The Kingdom of God had come upon them and many still did not believe. Instead they ended up nailing our LORD to a Cross to overcome the fear they had not realizing it was by His own choice that He was Crucified for the sins of the world. As a people we need to seek refuge in the LORD for all aspects of our lives and our country. We do this by seeking others in the LORD such as I did last night where I attended a new monthly event called “Refuge” where people of faith come together to pray, witness and sing psalms of thanksgiving to our God. I met people of all walks of life who want nothing more than to gather with friends to praise and sing to the LORD and seek refuge in His Truth. I was encouraged to see all ages there last night and I prayed with a man who helped me find peace in a personal family situation regarding my daughter. If anyone is interested in attending this monthly meeting with us next month, please let me know. In loving our love of Christ we must seek refuge in the LORD by gathering together often living the Word of God in all things. Amen.
So we ask in prayer: My LORD and my God, today I pray for Andy D. who is seeking employment LORD to care for his wife and baby. I pray for all the people who attended Refuge last night that we may live the Will of You Father in all things. We ask this in Jesus Name. Amen.

Gather Often with Friends of His
Listen to His voice
Dwelling in your soul
Harden not your heart
Peace in Christ to know
Drive out demons in His Way
Knowing His Truth to trust
No house to lay in waste
Built on a Rock of Salvation’s base
People who dwell in darkness and sin
Scattered like chaff in the wind
Gather often with friends of His
His Truth allows us to gain freedom to win
