Wig’s Word of God Today 4-25-2011
God raised this Jesus; of this we are all witnesses. Exalted at the right hand of God, He received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father and poured it forth, as you (both) see and hear. Acts 2:32-33
Jesus met them on their way and greeted them. They approached, embraced His feet, and did Him homage. Matthew 28:9
Acts 2:14, 22-33, Psalm 16 & Matthew 28:8-15
The Feast of Weeks- “Shavuot,” as the Jews called it was celebrated seven seven times after Passover literally meaning 50 days. In Greek it came to be known as the Pentecost and Peter and the Disciples had all been keeping a very low profile in Jerusalem and now they were all together in one place during the “Shavuot” as a Great Wind came rushing upon where they were at on each one of them as Tongues of Fire and each began to speak different utterances being filled with the Holy Spirit as a Great Sign from Heaven above. One must remember the words of John the Baptist at the Baptism of our LORD where he said, “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” This caused the city great wonder as the Jews began to follow each other to the site of where the Great Wind and sounds were coming from.
There the Jews heard them speaking great words of wisdom about God and Jesus being the Son of God in their own languages. Yes, these uneducated Galileans were speaking in the languages or “tongues” so each could understand. What does this mean? It means God had instituted the spreading of the Gospel of His Son’s Truth to all nations of the earth. Jesus Himself appeared to the Disciples teaching them before He Ascended into Heaven asking not to leave Jerusalem saying wait for “the promise of the Father about which you have heard Me speak; for John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 1:4-5 By loving our love of Christ we can trust the Father will guide us to this “great and magnificent day” by our practice, prayer and proclamation taking refuge in the LORD’s mercy for “everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” Acts 2:21
So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today we are always ready to accept your call by our practice, by our prayer and by our proclamation. We pray this in the Name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

Romans 8:28
“Spirit led God inspired Christ fed”
The Christ the King is LORD over the Meek
Seven seven times equals the Feast of Weeks
His time after He rose lasted less than we seek
He promised the Father would heal the weak
Baptizing wind and fire tongues they did speak
Children of the world hear and repeat
The love of God’s Son will save you
Know this you lowly and rich to complete
His Salvation of your soul all who are weak
God did raise His Son to prove He was He
The Mighty One of the world always at the peak
Put down your defenses and always fully greet
The Christ the King is LORD over the meek
