And all were astonished by the Majesty of God. Luke 9:43

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-24-2011

And all were astonished by the Majesty of God. Luke 9:43

Zechariah 2:5-9, 14-15a, Jeremiah 31:10-13 & Luke 9:43-45

Does the Majesty of God astonish you? Do you look for God in everything you do? Today, many of us men who were on the Kairos Prison Team last weekend are entering the prison this morning for an instructional reunion with the attendees of our four-day retreat we completed last Sunday. I’ve been praying and fasting for our team and the prisoners to see the Face of God in everything we do to accomplish the Will of God for His Glory. I can only imagine what they have been going through by there desire to become closer with God and I’m here to remind them that God wants them forever not just a week or two but until the day they die by seeking the Glory of His Majesty in everything they do.

God’s Work is never-ending. It doesn’t happen once a week in church or when you see His Face in an old man’s smile, His Work is to be accomplished at all times and in all situations. The fundamentals of your living must included God’s presence in each and every decision you make seeking not your will but the Will of God. It takes living in Spiritual Oneness with God from the interesting things we do to the mundane aspects of living; we must surrender to His Plan and let His love be everything to our life’s desire. This Spiritual Oneness is a pro-active state of mind searching for ways to share His Word to accomplish the Salvation of Souls. Look for Him in a homeless man’s smile. Find Him in your grandson’s laugh. Share His Truth in visiting the imprisoned. The Majesty of God will guide you to be astonished by proactively seeking a Spiritual Oneness in Christ. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today to seek Your Majesty in the astonishment of life. We pray to share Your majestic Truth with those we actively find in our daily living of Your Will. We pray for the men of our Kairos Prison Ministry and the candidates who live behind the walls of life’s mistakes. We pray we instill in them Your Truth by abiding by Your Word in action and in our talks today. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s peace and healing. We pray this in the Name above all Names, Christ Jesus. Amen.

Grant me justice, O God; defend me from a faithless people; from the deceitful and unjust rescue me. Psalm 43:1

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-23-2011

Grant me justice, O God; defend me from a faithless people; from the deceitful and unjust rescue me. Psalm 43:1

Haggai 2:1-9, Psalm 43 & Luke 9:18-22

There is a thought in people’s heart that they are forgiven just because they say they are sorry for their sins but it takes much more than just saying you’re sorry. It takes believing Jesus Christ came to your rescue and the rescue of humanity by His death on the Cross. We are only forgiven by His death not the sorry we have in our hearts. We are and always will be sinners and we have to approach our lives knowing sin will separate us from God not allowing us to embrace complete forgiveness. What does repenting mean to you? Does it mean you are free and clear from sin or now you are more keenly aware it is an everyday occurrence in the lives of mankind?

Moreover, our love of Christ comes into fruition by a complete relationship with God not a lackadaisical journey with an every now and then prayer or church service. We must repent by saying to God we are sorry for our sins because we want to change and become His friend. We want to honor the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost with prayerful practice of studying our Bible, prayerful thanksgiving for all acts of life and prayerful deeds of love in charity honoring our God with everything we are.

God allowed His Only Son to pay the price for our sin giving us a clean slate before God. This is not a free reign to steal, be sexually promiscuous or kill our brothers and sisters, it allows us to know we can change and be forgiven to give our life to His Truth. To believe in His Truth means you will obey His Commands and seek Truth in everything you do knowing if you make a mistake, you can go before God and say you are sorry wanting to always live in His Word for Truth to shine all around you. Live your love of loving Christ Jesus! Amen!

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today for justice from a faithless people who do not honor Your Word or Decrees. We pray for the establishment of Prayer Points across our great land to live in a complete surrender to Your Truth. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s peace and healing. We pray for my class of 29 amazing children who I embrace to teach compassion and charity. We pray this in the Name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song, His praise in the assembly of the faithful. Psalm 149:1

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-22-2011

Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song, His praise in the assembly of the faithful. Psalm 149:1

Haggai 1:1-8, Psalm 149 & Luke 9:7-9

I believe there is a need to celebrate God in all circumstances through prayer and fasting to accomplish the Will of the Father for Humanity’s spiritual destiny. Psalm 149 asks mankind to celebrate our God in song and dance but as importantly be ready to accomplish Divine Will similar to the Exodus Conquest if and when the need arises again. To be steadfast in our praise, worship and readiness to accomplish feats of Godly acts driven by the Spirit of God to overcome the oppression and secular driven manifestation ruining our minds, hearts and souls.

Many of us see the need to accomplish more in a world filled with selfish acts of sin today as much as the oppression they felt when Moses lead them out of bondage and into the promise land of faith, hope and love by the Power of God’s Command. There is a movement nationwide to bring God back to the forefront of our country’s culture to live in thanksgiving, praise and respect to the worlds only God of Truth. People everywhere are holding fasts, conferences and revivals to give praise to our God to instill action in the hearts of those who have been waning way too long. Slowly but surely our God will put you into action by your faith in His Word. Rejoice and be glad in Him! Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today humanity becomes awakened in the praise and thanksgiving You LORD deserve and desire. We pray people everywhere will become active in prayer, fasting and deed to accomplish Your Divine Will. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s peace and healing. We pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Go and learn the meaning of the words I desire mercy, not sacrifice. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners. Matthew 9:13

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-21-2011

Until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ. Ephesians 4:13

Go and learn the meaning of the words I desire mercy, not sacrifice. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners. Matthew 9:13

Ephesians 4:1-7, 11-13, Psalm 19 & Matthew 9:9-13

Paul is telling the Ephesians to work hard at being everything Christ instilled in our hearts and soul to become the mature Christian by examples of faith, charity and love. I believe one does not become knowledgeable in faith by natural occurrence but by the practice, prayer and proclamation of the Gospel in everything your life has to offer. You must seek knowledge in learning not just by your own study but also by the help of others who lift your learning of Christ’s Truth to another level. For me this person has been and always will be my beautiful wife Toni. She’s constantly seeking new ways to learn about our Christian faith in literature, Biblical audio and spiritual music. My one and only Soul-Mate in Christ Jesus. God’s gift to my devotion and communion with His Truth.

Jesus tells us today to learn what His Word means of desiring mercy not sacrifice in calling the sinners of the world to new life in His Truth. Obviously, Jesus was not excluding the righteous of the world but seeking a change of heart in the Pharisees who were questioning Him of His association with tax collectors and sinners. When we purposely seek out the lost of the world that need the Gospel of Christ the most, we seek to accomplish the Will of God by His instruction in Word and in Deed. His work has been given to all who accept His Father’s call to righteousness allowing everything you seek to mirror God’s love. Wherever you go, God has a plan for your life to share His Son’s Truth allowing the saving of souls to experience true forgiveness of sins. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today for a Unity of Faith by our practice, prayer and proclamation. We pray to become mature in Your Word to share Your Son’s Redemption of sin. May our lives mirror the mercy of His love seeking the lost sinners of the world for Your Glory. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s peace and healing. We pray my African missionary friend Paula’s safe return home yesterday. We pray this all in the Name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

My mother and My brothers are those who hear the Word of God and act on it. Luke 8:21

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-20-2011

My mother and My brothers are those who hear the Word of God and act on it. Luke 8:21

Ezekiel 6:7-8, 12b, 14-20, Psalm 122 & Luke 8:19-21

There are so many ways of acting on the Word of God that one has to be able to understand the full surrender of seeking God first in everything you do. As Jesus commands in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the Kingdom (of God) and His righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides” should be the focal point of your surrender. The Word of God will be your guide to every step you take as long as you take the time to embrace its Truth in study leaning not on your own ways of understanding but God’s amazing Truth of Life.

There will be times of hesitance on your part because the lure of pretty lights and selfishness will set in but your Guide will never change His Commands to bring you back. You will see the peace of the LORD will always be there to welcome you to the Eternal Home of Forgiveness by the Blood of His Son’s Cross. Our LORD wants us to give up our sin and He will guide you to repent by acting on His Word in thoughts, voice and most importantly deed. We let go of all pretense and deceit and act on the Word of God will zealous love of Truth. Step-by-step we will all find God’s Plan for our lives by being active in the Word of God.

I sat and listened to an older man yesterday as I got my haircut from a Brother in Christ who acts on the Word of God daily in his constant surroundings. As he clipped away at my hair, the man told a story of being prayed over by two young boys who were in their early teens who he explained was part of Youth Group he met while taking a walk one day. When the boys asked the man if they could pray for his healing of constant ailments, he reflected that no one in his church has ever offered to pray over him before and he was touched by these young Christians joy of Christ’s love. As he began to leave saying, “God has plan for you,” I stopped him and said I would like to pray over you too. My friend and I laid our hands on his shoulder and lifted him up in prayer. His smile was so gracious in thanksgiving I could see the Spirit of God in his eyes. I would describe this action as hearing the Word of God and acting on it. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today to always act on Your Word with zealous love for Your Son’s Redemption. We pray for our Brothers in Kairos following our amazing Spirit filled retreat. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s peace and healing. We pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light. Luke 8:17

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-19-2011

For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light. Luke 8:17

Ezekiel 1:1-6, Psalm 126 & Luke 8:16-18

I awoke this morning to sound of pouring rain as my sleepy mind came to from a dream of prisoners being cleansed by the Blood of Christ Jesus. Face after face I watched in my slumbered state walking under the Cross of Christ accepting His Redemption as they spoke Repentance from their mouths with hands lifted high in praise. As they were lead back into the staging areas of incarceration, each of them displayed a smile of Christ unlike any I have ever seen before. I smile of forgiveness wrapped in love.

Many times over our Kairos Prison Ministry weekend, I witnessed prisoners displaying this smile of Christ that seemed to pierce my soul with joy. I kept thinking how our society could make such a difference to those who make wrong choices by turning to God’s grace and volunteering time to help those who have been misguided by Satan’s thrill of selfish pleasures of sin. A lamp stand of Godly guidance illuminating the Truth to keep nothing hidden displaying Christ’s Light to see life as it was meant to be. My prayers go forward for all the men I met this weekend to seek only God’s Will and live in peace by the Cross of Christ Jesus. Amen.

Unknown ever to me

Short and stumpy at first

Unable to notice and see

Barbed wire was added

Shunning those to be

A caring friend in Truth

Higher than ever to agree

The wall reached its limit

Personal polished deed

Selfish and tormented ugliness

Separated by my selfish greed

One day a flower came

During my hour of need

God instructed me to give

Up my anger and learn to feed

Self-pity began to set in

Over years of disbelief

A friend’s advice came

Accept Christ’s Truth relief

Pride prevented involvement

To fully accept and agree

Until God’s love shared

He comes forever for free

God’s gift was His Son’s guidance

He’s always there to help you be

For to me life is Christ, and death is gain. Philippians 1:21

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-18-2011

For to me life is Christ, and death is gain. Philippians 1:21

Are you envious because I am generous? Matthew 20:15b

Isaiah 55:6-9, Psalm 145, Philippians 1:20c-24, 27a & Matthew 20:1-16a

After years and years of selfish living, I now want nothing more than to live the Will of God by my practice (Bible study), prayer and proclamation of His Truth. In my work and in my soul I seek to accomplish the discipleship He wants me to live. Humanity can find a life of God once they address the truth of sinful living. We have to recognize sin is an unpleasant fact of life and the only way to void our life of sin is to become close to God. It can consume your life with unpredictable and uncontrollable behavior that can lead you life to absolute ruins. You can’t shed selfish greed and lust if you don’t give your life over to God. Once you see God working in your life, you become keenly aware that God has forgiven your past faults and sin by the Blood of His Son’s Cross. Create a habit of repentant living in your practice, prayer and proclamation for the Glory of God the Father of all.

After three days in the prison, we end up today being thankful for God’s presence in the life of the incarcerated to seek Truth in a change of heart to prepare the lost for a life of Godly direction. As we closed our program yesterday, we allowed the prisoners to speak of their experience with Kairos and how God has moved them to be obedient to His Truth. This “open mike” time brings a lot of tears as they proudly proclaim their desire to be forgiven but more importantly, it brings a chance to publicly proclaim their life has changed because of God’s Truth in His Son’s Redemption. Today we will conclude the Kairos Program with a reminder of all the different tools we taught them to use to align their life with God’s Eternal Plan for Humanity. Practice, Pray and Proclaim. Amen!

Therefore, we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today to live a life of Christ always seeking to share His Redemption of sinful living. We pray for the men of Kairos and the team’s strength to complete our program today with the energy of God’s love. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s healing and peace. We pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Those on the path are the ones who have heard, but the devil comes and takes away the Word from their hearts that they may not believe and be saved. Luke 8:12

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-17-2011

Those on the path are the ones who have heard, but the devil comes and takes away the Word from their hearts that they may not believe and be saved. Luke 8:12

1 Timothy 6:13-16, Psalm 100 & Luke 8:4-15

It’s amazing to see the presence of God in complete strangers as they explain different aspects of His Truth that embodies the Church of Christ. “I’m not much of a speaker” rang throughout the room as men joyfully clapped for an inmate who struggled to explain a group drawing on a poster board of what the picture they drew representing The Church. I personally have seen many a smile for God’s love within a man or woman but to see this man who probably won’t be able to walk freely down Main Street USA for the rest of his life smile as big and as happy as he was drew tears of joy streaming down my face. I can see it so clearly; a smile I could sense illuminating the entire room with Christ’s smile. Yep, no about it, I saw the face of Christ and His presence brought tears to my face.

Now I move into day three and I will be sharing with them today the importance of practice by reading the Word of God daily in their lives in a talk called Discovery. I will remind them that the love of God is all round them even in the confines of high fences and razor wires where by study, prayer and listening we open our hearts and soul to a complete communion with Christ to repent from sin and live in His Redemption. The study of God’s Word opens our being to discover the Kingdom of God is within us all establishing a life-long commitment of faith, charity and love. Let us open in us all a New Life in Christ to accomplish the Will of God for the Glory of the Father. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today to always open Your Word daily to discover and live the Truth You gave us for all Eternity. We pray to rebuke the devil and his temptive ways to establish and live in complete communion with Your Truth. We pray for You LORD to illuminate the souls of all in our Kairos Prison Retreat and allow them to shine the Face of Christ. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s peace and healing. We pray for the wives of our team. We pray this in the Name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

For the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains. 1 Timothy 6:12

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-16-2011

For the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains. 1 Timothy 6:12

1 Timothy 6:2c-12, Psalm 49 & Luke 8:1-3

It amazes me that we as humanity know what is the root of all evil yet we find people who still succumb to the temptation of selfish acts of greed for lust of flesh, excess and wealth. I know in my heart that when I began giving to the poor, seeking the homeless and tithing to the LORD, my entire desires for money fell into the same surrender pit I had fallen into not seeking a way out but asking people to jump in along with me for the Glory of God the Father.

Yesterday as we entered the prison of the unknown fellowship we were about to experience, you could sense the forced humility amongst the prisoners when we began small introductions of each us following a small script. Many would agree that the love of money and self had placed them within the walls of separation but as importantly, they recognize the need to follow the search for God’s forgiveness and guidance in troubled times of mistake driven choices.

The many pains of wrong choices were written all over their faces and I know it was hard humble pill to swallow for many of them. By the Grace of God we can channel the love of excess in flesh, greed and sin to accomplishing good in the world by our practiced Bible reading daily, our endless prayers of guidance and our proclamation of Christ’s truth as He instructed over 2000 years ago. Kill the root of evil with the kindness and goodness of God. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today for our love of You to kill the root of all evil in our life. We pray we focus on Your Word to keep us from straying from the faith You instill in our hearts. We pray for the Team and Candidates of Kairos Prison Ministry weekend and the unknown the Spirit of the LORD will guide us to today. We pray for our spouses who support our love of Your Son’s Truth. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s peace and healing. We pray this in the Name above all names, Christ Jesus. Amen.

Attend to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in both tasks, for by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you. 1 Timothy 4:16

Wig’s Word of God Today 9-15-2011

Attend to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in both tasks, for by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.

1 Timothy 4:16

1 Timothy 4:12-16, Psalm 111 & Luke 2:33-35

The day has finally come after weeks of meetings, prayers and fasting. We meet the men we have been called to minister to in a maximum-security prison. I find myself reflecting on Paul’s message to Timothy to persevere in taking care of you for the Glory of God but as importantly to persevere for those who allow me an opportunity to help in embracing the Word of God. There are so many different types of efforts to accomplish this no matter where you are or what you are doing; there are people who will need your zeal for God’s Mercy.

Last night I felt this from my wife as I stood next to a McDonald’s talking to the Commander of my Disabled American Veteran’s Group. As we talked about my pending voluntary lock-up, he reflected on a story of helping a Veteran in prison who needed help acquiring his medications for a military related illness. As we stood there, two females began shouting at each other and then began punching one another just behind our car up against the McDonald’s building. My wife who was sitting in the car next to us with an open window turned and said something like “come on girls, God doesn’t want us to fight with one another.” People who are empowered by the LORD’s Truth speak up more to share Christ’s love with confidence and joy. My wife is am amazing woman in Christ who loves the LORD. Her passion for His Truth empowers me to Trust God even more.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today to always persevere and share the Truth with anyone who will listen. We pray today for our Kairos Prison Ministry Team who begins our ministry weekend today. We continue our prayers for the NJ/Philadelphia Emmaus Team Leader Tom Stilley who is searching for candidates to share the Walk to Emmaus. We pray for my daughter Alexandra’s peace and healing. We pray for the people known and unknown who will one day learn of God’s Truth by our perseverance. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
