Teacher, we know that you are a truthful Man and that you are not concerned with anyone’s opinion

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-8-2011

Teacher, we know that you are a truthful Man and that you are not concerned with anyone’s opinion. You do not regard a person’s status but teach the way of God in accordance with the Truth. Mark 12:14

Tobit 2:9-14, Psalm 112:1-2, 7-8, 9 & Mark 12:13-17

There are times in everyone’s life that we lie to escape facing the truth. Even the lies of omission where we think that if we don’t share exactly what we think we should someone could get hurt or we become concerned with someone’s opinions of us or our character. Jesus Christ did not hide anything and He was put to death for telling the Truth. His Truth scared people as it does many people who are afraid to live in a complete surrender to His Father’s Will. Growing up I watched and listened to my father lie and cheat on my mother so I naturally thought escaping the truth was a normal everyday occurrence. From school to girlfriends, telling the truth escaped me because I wasn’t taught to face the truth with true humility and courage.

My mother gave me every opportunity to follow her lead in telling the truth but for some reason I was drawn to my father’s way of living. My mother wanted me to see no evil and speak no evil so to speak but I chose the latter to follow my father’s footsteps. I’m sorry mom for hurting you so many times by lying and I love you for teaching me to face the truth with courage as your mom used to instill in me the love of God. Now I find myself hurting inside if I don’t face the truth with honor and respect seeking to acknowledge the sin by repentance in confession immediately. I have learned to not be worried about other people’s opinions because my surrender to His Truth gives me strength to “teach the way of God in accordance with the Truth.” My surrender to living a life of Truth guides my love of loving Christ to accomplish teaching His Love with true faith, humility and courage and I seek to mirror the compassion, honor and love Christ brought to the world by His Redemption.

I failed early in my life because I was full of my self seeking to only accomplish true pleasures of sin. I failed my children and myself by not seeking to accomplish the Will of God in all things. My apology runs deep for my children and my every day life of prayer now expresses the sorrow I feel for not being the father I was capable of being and the man I am today. I am who I am today because of my love of loving Christ Jesus and I practice His Truth every day when I read His Word to live for His Glory. My prayer life is constant because I know our LORD wants us to pray over everything we do to accomplish living for His Glory. I proclaim His Truth to live in Truth to share faith, charity and love. I asked a young man to help me the other day to do some yard work and before we got started I asked him to pray with me saying, “I pray before I do everything in my life to live for the Glory of God to seek and share His Truth. In Jesus Name may our work honor Him. Amen.”

So we ask in prayer: MY LORD and MY GOD, we pray today we may have the courage to live in Truth for everything we do to Honor You LORD. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-7-2011

The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes. Mark 12:10-11

Tobit 1:3; 2:1a-8, Psalm 112:1b-2, 3b-4, 5-6 & Mark 12:1-12

I witness rejection weekly when I go and pray at the abortion clinic on 117th Avenue here in Miami. I see the pain in the faces of women who are rejecting the life God has given them as they drive in and I witness the sadness they feel as they drive away after killing their baby in a complete act of rejection. This past Saturday when I walked up at 6:50 AM with my beautiful wife, I noticed a small chalk board easel with writing on it set up at the entrance. I strolled over and began to read it aloud as the opposition leader put up her sign to block my view of the clinic. “Today is the first day of a new beginning” the chalk writing said as my words echoed in the early morning air. The opposition leader then said, “Instant healing when the abortion is complete.” None of us feel instant healing when death occurs. It takes time to heal and it takes time to learn how to live with yourself after rejecting life inside you or in my case another life inside another person.

Jesus reminds the Scribes, Elders and Pharisees through a parable that it is God’s Plan for Christ to be rejected and killed. The final rejection by the Religious Leaders of Israel denotes the tenant farmers in the story and the messengers are His servants the prophets. The punishment of death for the farmers is God’s wrath on the unbelievers and the vineyards transfer to new owners is the New Israel of Christ believers. Jesus takes His cornerstone passage from Psalm 118:22-23 where He equates the death and resurrection He will soon experience to the stone’s rejection is being allowed by God to fulfill His Promise of a New Covenant. The rejection of Christ is wonderful in our eyes because His Sacrifice allows us to embrace His Redemptive Plan of forgiving the sins of all humanity. We celebrate this rejection as a joy of loving our love of Christ Jesus. Christ’s rejection allows our sins to be forgiven for all eternity and to follow His Truth to accomplish His Will.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today for all health care workers who help those who are sick and dying. May they bring peace and comfort to those by Your Son’s embrace of love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

A Truth Revealed the Weak

He left on a journey
To share Truth with the poor
He asked His followers to sacrifice
The pleasures of this world

How many times can I lie to myself?
How many times can I try myself?
How many times can I cry to myself?
How many times can I die myself?

How many times can we deny Him
The questions run so deep
Every parable Christ shared
A Truth revealed the weak

A blessing for obeying the commandments of the LORD, your God, which I enjoin on you today; a curse if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD, your God

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-6-2011

A blessing for obeying the commandments of the LORD, your God, which I enjoin on you today; a curse if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD, your God. Deuteronomy 11: 27-28

All have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

For He taught them as one having Authority, and not as their scribes. Matthew 7:29

Deuteronomy 11:18, 26-28, 32, Psalm 31:2-3, 3-4, 17, 25, Romans 3:21-25, 28 & Matthew 7:21-29

Delivered by a man who shone like pure white silk, Moses says to the people; “I set before you here, this day, a blessing and a curse.” A blessing by following the God-given decrees written on a stone tablet describing such obvious lessons of good moral character: honor your mother and father, do not commit adultery and for the love of God, do not lie. A curse from the wrath of God if one doesn’t follow such simple loving rules of life. There is nothing so complex to understand here because God makes it easy for us, what becomes hard is committing to a life of wealth in Christ instead of a wealth of self in sin.

The Apostle Paul uses an amazing thought to capture our justification by our faith Christ Jesus. “They are justified freely by His grace through the Redemption in Christ Jesus, Whom God set forth as an expiation, through faith, by His blood, to prove His righteousness because of the forgiveness of sins previously committed, through the forbearance of God–to prove his righteousness in the present time, that He might be righteous and justify the one who has faith in Jesus.” Romans 24-26 Did you take a deep breath before reading that passage? My belief in Christ gives me Redemption. Your belief in Christ gives you Redemption. Not a light laugh, a TRUE reality. Even when we don’t follow the rules God forgives us. Society might not forgive you but God will because He allowed His Son to die for all.

While our amazing God roamed the earth, He taught with such authority but His miracles still didn’t prove anything to the ones who hated him. There is always a Lucifer to fight off in one’s life. There may be evil spirits in your thoughts and your actions by not picking up your Bible and following His Decrees daily. As I described, there is such simplicity to following the Divine Principles of God but such selfish needs by the human race. Jesus describes an action in your will to accomplish all He desires from us. A life of faith built upon the Rock of Salvation. A life of hope built upon the foundation of His Community. A life of love built upon the Streets of Gold in Heaven. A life of loving your love of Christ to accomplish the Will of God our Father. Is your house built on His Rock or Satan’s Sand?

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today for faith to live Christ’s Redemption daily. We pray today we will always listen to the One Who has Authority over all by our faith, our actions and our love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Was John’s baptism of heavenly or of human origin? Answer me.

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-5-2011

He saved me from evil of every kind and preserved me in time of trouble. For this reason I thank Him and I praise Him; I bless the Name of the LORD. Sirach 51:12

The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The decree of the LORD is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple. Psalm 19:8

Was John’s baptism of heavenly or of human origin? Answer me. Mark 11:30

Sirach,  51:12 cd-20, Psalm 19:8, 9, 10, 11 & Mark 11:27-33

Do you remember the time when you were very cynical about God, especially Jesus Christ? Your relationship with God’s Only Son was far off at best and you didn’t know whether to believe in Him or not. “Seems so long ago,” I would say to myself. When I “promised” to raise my kids Catholic, I didn’t know His Redemptive friendship nor did I have the wisdom to understand something that was never really shared with me. Oh, my mom instilled in me that telling the truth was always the right thing to do but my dad, well, being raised in an alcoholic childhood was ugly to say the least. My promise to raise my kids Catholic lead me to embracing God’s Heir of Truth to become a searcher of the wisdom Sirach describes in today’s reading.

I looked to save my own interests and held on to the Spirit of Love as I grew through the scariest evil I have ever gone through; selfish acts of sin leading to a divorce. No matter how much I wanted to do the right thing with my children, I was failing by opting out of the union which created these little innocent energetic souls that carried a part of me, a part of my heritage with them. I was filled with a selfish acts of disrespect to our LORD and my children not knowing how to embrace His kindness, his compassion or His love to give my heirs the opportunity to truly know God’s Truth. The LORD preserved me from every kind of evil associated with selfish acts of sin by lifting me up off the streets when I was at my lowest yet I learned the highest point in my life.

I had reached a pinnacle because Christ’s love became my everything in life. I began to see living for Him and His decrees was where my heart and soul wanted to be. Studying His Word became enjoyed and praying has become the norm for His Truth has illuminated my aching soul from despair giving me faith, hope and love. I am living for charity to give a part of myself back to humanity to share the surrendered love of proclaiming the Gospel. I let my kids down. Period. While both of them get my daily study and will assuredly read this today, my repentance doesn’t solve the far away father’s empty nights of not telling my children to pray before going to bed. I lost the opportunity to pray with them then but I resolutely pray for them daily now. Angels coaxed me out of a gutter and into a life of repentance where my children will be lifted up in prayer every day of my life by sharing my love of loving a surrender to His Truth.

For years I lived as the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders did. The same way the Herodians and the Pharisees and the Sadducees did. I didn’t accept Jesus as anything in my life. Unlike the aforementioned group of Christ haters, I just didn’t take the time to listen to anyone about God. Now I sit and wonder how I’m going to reach today’s youth with God’s message of faith, hope, charity and love. As a teacher, I can see how I reach a child with compassion, prosperity and knowledge but it’s the population and culture I seek to instill His needed guidance of action, charity and respect fulfilling the opportunity to share His love with mankind. When we all come together in His Name to live for His praising, we all come to a place of surrender, trust and security.

So we ask in prayer: MY LORD and MY GOD, we pray today for the children of the world to be given a chance to know Your Name. We pray for Your guidance in every life situation to experience forgiveness and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

When you stand to pray, forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance, so that your heavenly Father may in turn forgive you your transgressions

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-4-2011

Jesus said to them in reply, “Have faith in God.” Mark 11:22

When you stand to pray, forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance, so that your heavenly Father may in turn forgive you your transgressions. Mark 11:26

Sirach 44:1, 9-13, Psalm 149:1b-2, 3-4, 5-6a and 9b & Mark 11:11-26

There is a beauty of God’s grace resounding in the families of old where the presence of Christ constantly sings praises to God the Father. Maybe you sit near af a family such as this at church on Sunday or maybe you feel your family confidently displays this beauty in God. Sirach points this out writing, “Now will I praise those godly men, our ancestors, each in his own time,” Sirach 44:1 as he prays further “through God’s covenant with them their family endures, their posterity, for their sake.” Sirach 44:12 I have come to know many a family who surrender everything for their love of loving Christ Jesus. They work diligently offering faith, hope, charity and love to complete strangers by their love of studying His Word, praying over everything they do and proclaiming with a sincere love of Christ’s Gospel.

Here in mark Christ curses a fig tree and many a person have asked, “why did He do this?” Biblical Scholars have different opinions why but most agree Christ was using the tree as a visual aid to express an important Truth about faith and appearance of loving God. By faith Jesus taught we can accomplish anything in His Name, “Jesus said to them in reply, “Have faith in God. Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him.” Mark 11:22-23 Many a people have the appearance of loving God from a distance but as you draw closer to them their surrender is not complete such as the fig tree and the Temple area where Jesus cleared them out saying, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples’? But you have made it a den of thieves.” Mark 11:17 God will judge us according to our deeds we display outwardly and inwardly in our soul by our love of living His Word, praying to Him constantly and proclaiming His Son’s Truth. Nothing will be hidden from our LORD when He calls you home. How you live in faith, charity and love will be judged by God Almighty. Give to give not receive. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, today we pray for the soul of Pam See who passed on to Your Kingdom suddenly yesterday. May her soul rest in Your peace forever more. We pray we are confidant in Your Truth to share with the world. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Go your way; your faith has saved you

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-3-2011

“Go your way; your faith has saved you.” Mark 10:52

Sirach 42:15-25, Psalm 33:2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 & Mark 10:46-52

Do you feel you have a faith that is everlasting? Our LORD has given us an ability to be Spiritually Focused by our daily practice in reading the Word of God aligning our existence to His Truth in everything we do. It’s our love of being obedient to God’s Word that drives our faith to embrace the Agony associated with the Cross of Christ. In its Foundation, the Cross of Christ allows us to live free from sin and celebrate God’s Redemption by His Son’s Blood washing humanity clean.

Jesus heals a blind man by telling the man to embrace his faith and “immediately he received his sight and followed Him on the way.” Jesus’ death on the Cross was a sacrifice for Humanity, His Service to mankind by His death on a Cross for the sins of all. We too, as Disciples of Christ, must allow our acts of faith, charity and love to be of service to others as Christ Himself was Crucified for all. In loving your love of Christ we embrace this service to others as a joy to share His Truth.

So we ask in prayer: Dear Father God, we pray today for a strong faith rooted in Your Holy Word to accomplish the Service of the Cross. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many

Wig’s Word fo God Today 3-2-2011

Thus it will be known to the very ends of the earth that you are the eternal God. Sirach 36:17

For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45

Sirach 36:1, 4-5a, 10-17, Psalm 79:8, 9, 11 and 13 & Mark 10:32-45

I strive every day to write a reflection filled with the Spirit of God that will move people to read their Bible, to move people to pray and to move people to proclaim with confidence void of Christ-like stage fight. I seek to proclaim “to the very ends of the earth that You are the eternal God” to rescue the world from jealously, worry or revenge. Many in today’s world are so filled with sin they have forgotten what living in Truth feels like let alone how to speak it when it comes to their mind. Today’s message in Sirach is a message of faith asking our LORD to rescue humanity from the ugliness associated with selfish acts of sin. The author asks God to intervene and show His Saving Power to all the nations. By the death of His Only Son, God reconciled the world to a Savior of all that we can Trust He will deliver mankind from Satan’s grips of selfishness.

Jesus spoke to us yesterday that wealth is not an automatic ticket to enter the Gates of Heaven rather He challenges us to void ourselves of wealth and follow Him to His Eternal Kingdom through acts of faith, charity and love. Today we hear Jesus tell James and John, the sons of Zebedee and one of the early followers of Christ that His seat in Heaven on the left or the right is not for Him to give for it is only God who can assign those seats. After explaining that He would have to suffer at the hands of the Gentiles, Christ further expresses our need to serve instead of being served for True Discipleship comes from serving the afflicted, the hungry and the poor. Jesus frees humanity from sin by His Death on a Cross but he true freedom mankind will experience is in living a life dedicated to His Truth in a complete surrender to serving the least amoung us. “For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Amen.

But many that are first will be last, and (the) last will be first

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-1-2011

Give to the Most High as he has given to you, generously, according to your means. Sirach 35:9

Peter began to say to him, “We have given up everything and followed you.”  Mark 10:28

But many that are first will be last, and (the) last will be first.” Mark 10:31

Sirach 35:1-12, Psalm 50:5-6, 7-8, 14 and 23 & Mark 10:28-31

There is a joy in giving that resounds in the soul of every loving human bringing forth pleasing grace’s from our LORD. The LORD our God repays goodness with graces abundantly and seeks to teach humanity His loving ways of faith, charity and love. I read a story of a man who began walking across America in search of himself but realizing once he was out there that God wanted to use him to share graces of His Word by giving out Bibles to whoever the Spirit leads him. The reactions he received from a majority of the public were spite and disgust for he himself seemed to be homeless instead of a man who was on a mission for God. Thanks Ruthie for sharing!

There is many a soul wondering the streets of the world who are there because they want to be closer to God in a way we can’t understand. They are sleeping in bushes and ditches allowing the humility of homelessness grace their being in such a way that there’s only one way to know or understand what they feel is by actually experiencing living on the streets first hand. The Disciples gave up everything to follow Jesus to become a wondering homeless preacher of His Truth. They wondered around in the streets embracing the elements of the Father in loving their love of Christ by being last for they knew in their hearts they would be first through the gates of heaven.

There was a time when I embraced being homeless as a lesson from God to know the Angels of the world who lived a life of shelter less exsistance but who embraced the nature as a gift from God. I hugged, gave my last dime and spoke to many a homeless person then ranging in age from 15 to 75 who were seeking obscurity from the sin of the world as I recalled the same Scripture passage I read last night that brought tears to my eyes for I had lived and witnessed what the LORD is doing to the homeless of the world. My tears were joyous tears filed with the Spirit of God embracing Matthew 25:34-36. “Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.”

So we ask in prayer: Heavenly Father, we pray today for the homeless of the world. May they embrace Your Son’s Truth in living a life of obscurity. We pray today people see the eyes of Christ in the hungry, the thirsty and the imprisoned. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Go, sell what you have, and give to (the) poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow Me

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-28-2011

“You are lacking in one thing. Go, sell what you have, and give to (the) poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow Me.”  Mark 10:21

Sirach 17:20-24, Psalm 32:1-2, 5, 6, 7 & Mark 10:17-27

The LORD of Truth is also the LORD of forgiveness and Ben Sirach received from the LORD the enlightenment to share this with humanity. “Return to the LORD and give up sin, pray to Him and make your offenses few. How great the mercy of the LORD, His forgiveness of those who return to him! Sirach 17: 20 & 24 No matter how deep you believe you have gone in offending God, He will forgive you by accepting His Son’s Death on a Cross. We are assured a place in heaven because of His life, death and resurrection. Our surrender to God’s Plan allows us to live for His Son’s Truth. Every little detail of our lives must represent the need to Glorify the Father and by doing so, we are sharing the Redemptive action God has had in place before the beginning of the world.

My beautiful wife Toni and I have started a silent retreat on our own following the spiritual exercises and principles of St. Ignatius of Loyola these past two Sundays and will continue them until they are completed every Sunday thereafter. We begin with an hour of silence calling on the LORD in our minds opening our will to His Truth. In silence we talk to the LORD and ask Him what we can do for Him focusing on His Divine Plan for our lives. We then listen to a video describing certain aspects of living a life dedicated to the LORD’s Work and finish by reading assigned Scripture readings. Too many times in our lives we are asking the LORD for this and that instead of serving His Plan for humanity. Here in Mark Jesus tells the wealthy man he is lacking a complete surrender to God and must sell everything he has and follow Him to obtain his treasure in Heaven. We must look for ways to give everything to His Redemptive Work in loving our love of Christ. Show a surrender to His Plan for your life and serve His work for humanity.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today we can find time to serve instead of being served. We pray for a strength to live a complete surrender void of want and full of giving. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin

Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. Isaiah 49:15

He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will manifest the motives of our hearts. 1 Corinthians 4:15d

Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin. Matthew 6:28

Isaiah 49:14-15, Psalm 62:2-3, 6-7, 8-9, 1 Corinthians 4:1-5 & Matthew 6:24-34

In today’s world, humanity seems to be more worried about selfish acts of sin than being obedient to God by living a life of faith, charity and love. Today’s message is clear in our study of Isaiah where God reminds us He will never forget us. He has set His Plan in motion long ago allowing us to be a self-fulfilling humanity by establishing the seasons for harvest to satisfy our need of physical nutrition, establishing the nature to build us shelter and clothe our naked body and by authoring the Greatest Book ever assembled to accent our need for physical, mental and spiritual growth to Glorify Him in obedience. When we arise in obedience to His Plan for our lives, we live in Truth void of jealously, worry or revenge.

There is nothing we do that God will not bring to Light when He judges each one of us accordingly by the motives of our hearts. If you are living in jealously, worry or revenge, your love of loving Christ is hidden from God’s Plan for your life and your lack of obedience to the chore of menial seemingly unimportant work of living is hindering your closeness to God void of His Light. Remember, “upon you the LORD shines, and over you appears His Glory.” Isaiah 60:2d All of your hidden disobedience in your hearts will be made visible by His Light and His Glory will rest in our soul forever. Glorify Him in everything you do including the menial tasks of life and they will take on a greater importance when we sanctify everything we do in His Name.

There’s no human way possible to serve two masters. If you are and believing you are getting away with it, then your surprise of the crash that will suddenly come and shake you out of this irresponsible position of life will come when you least expect it. Your life will crash around you and spin out of control. There’s is only One Master you can serve with a clean conscious of faith, charity and love allowing your life to never experience jealously, worry or revenge. “Why are you anxious about clothes?” “Will He not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?’ All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.” Mark 6:30c-33  Submit to the plan of God for your life and feel the Salvation afforded to the entire human race.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today to be obedient to Your Plan for our lives. A Plan to live in Truth. We pray for we always become obedient in helping others to Glorify Your Name. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

“Spirit led God inspired Christ fed”

Not Two Masters

Master your service
Only One cares
Serve not mammon
God’s life prepared

Worried life voided
Provided for life
Drink will come
Quenched eternal strife

Cover your body
Without a care
His Truth given
Skin not bear

Birds love flight
They get theirs
Food always provided
God Who shares

Learn flowers grow
Seeds to bear
Fruit for humanity
Sweet Christ-like stare

Faith of little?
Worry not feed
Worry not drink
God provided need

Seek God’s righteousness
Not two masters
Tomorrow fully prepared
Evil under care
