Let the children come to Me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-26-2011

Let the children come to Me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child will not enter it. Mark 10:14-15

Sirach 17:1-15, Psalm 103:13-14, 15-16, 17-18 & Mark 10:13-16

Sitting on my desk is this wonderful bronze piece titled, “Jesus Teaching the Children.” I sit and study Jesus with His arm around a boy and a girl  sitting on a rock teaching them His Way of Truth every morning when I begin my day in prayer reading the Bible searching for the wisdom to complete my surrender to living a life of Christ. An everything relationship radiating from my heart, mind and soul including the everyday minute things we encounter tempting our spirit with jealously, worry or revenge. By reading the Bible everyday the surrender takes on a life-altering joy of receiving His love in everything we do even as we study the details of a piece of metal molded to inspire your heart with His Everlasting Wisdom.

The light reflects an angelic spiritual wonder of learning in the children’s eyes as the eyes of Christ embraces their infectious admiration. I reflect on this wonderful astonishment of His love with curiosity and respect for the life He has given me. To embrace His Will allows us to enjoy freedom beyond the boundaries of living by our love of loving Christ’s Truth to live in faith, charity and love. This gift from a close friend embodies Mark 10:14-16 ending with; “then he embraced them and blessed them, placing His hands on them.” His Hands of guidance exude from every Word of His Gospel we read to embrace His Wisdom of Truth. Live for His Purpose to Practice. Live for His Purpose to Pray. Live for His Purpose to Proclaim. Amen. Read Ephesians 4:1-16

So we ask in prayer: My LORD and My Teacher, we pray today for the children who are eager to accept Your Son’s Redemption. We pray for Truth to guide our every thought, our every intention and our every action. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Again crowds gathered around Him and, as was His custom, He again taught them

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-25-2011

Again crowds gathered around Him and, as was His custom, He again taught them. Mark 10:1b

Sirach 6:5-17, Psalm 119:12, 16, 18, 27, 34, 35 & Mark 10:1-12

The Book of Sirach is known as a book of Ethical Teachings and Biblical Scholars agree that the teachings are applicable to all persons and all ages of life; parents and children, husbands and wives, the rich and the poor, i.e.; Humanity. It is a book describing many rules of courtesy and politeness and gives instruction for the duties of mankind to live in harmony giving God all the glory. It is a beautiful book of truths and if you have never really sat down and read it then your in for a treat. The verse studied today gives instruction on finding friends and how to keep them. “When you gain a friend, first test him, and be not too ready to trust him.” Sirach 6:7 Further describing what a faithful friend will be; “A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure. A faithful friend is beyond price, no sum can balance his worth. A faithful friend is a life-saving remedy, such as he who fears God finds; For he who fears God behaves accordingly, and his friend will be like himself.” Sirach 6:14-17

When we find a faithful friend, we find a friend who loves his love of Christ Jesus and will be there for you anytime, anyplace and anywhere. Today I am bringing my homemade quiche to a prayer breakfast that is affectionately called a “Prayer Muffin” where every Friday about 100 men come together to talk about their love of Christ. Many of these men I have come to know as a friend I have been describing. Men of honor and respect who want nothing more than to seek faith, hope, charity and love. They are a life-saving remedy filled with the Spirit of God. We learn from one another and seek to bear witness to the Gospel of Christ Jesus.. Today’s study of Mark specifically talks about Jesus’ reaction to questions about divorce. Jesus is obviously against divorce and I think everyone would agree that if God’s not in it, the marriage most likely won’t survive. Jesus reminds us when we get married we become one in mind, body and flesh in God. I proclaim with confidence I am One with my spouse in all things and proudly call her my Soul Mate in Christ Jesus. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Heavenly Father, today we pray for all friendships and marriages to be based on Truth. We pray Your Son will always be the Teacher of Choice when it come to learning about friends and life. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-24, 2011

Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward. Mark 9:41

Sirach 5:1-8, Ps 1:1-2, 3, 4 and 6 & Mark 9:41-50

Sometimes I lay awake at night and think of how my Free Will fights off temptations because I love God so much. I can close my eyes and begin to see Jesus Himself talking to me about my Trust in Him and His abundant love for all Humanity. His voice is soothing and I want to lean up against Him while He shares His Amazing Grace with me. In my surrender to Him I have voided my self of all desire to have any type of material wealth giving my life to help people see His Redemption at work in their lives every day. There was a time I would allow the temptations of the world to consume my soul knowing God would forgive me but this empty feeling was a facade in a life living for my own desires of sin. I smile every day when I awake for my quiet time with the LORD and I surrender my joys to His Truth living to share His love with Humanity.

Once a month I go into the Dade Correctional Facility in Florida City, Florida and minister to as many as 30 inmates who are seeking so desperately to find Christ’s love amongst the murderers and rapists of the world. I set aside any judgments and share my love of God by opening my ears and listening to their needs and stories of faith. Last night there was a smaller group of men than normal but all were filled with the Spirit. Of course we encourage them to find God amongst the lost and confused giving in not to temptation of the flesh or sinful desires but to instead proclaim the Good News to friend and foe alike. One of the men spoke about giving his new shoes that didn’t fit right to someone who was openly homosexual hoping to share his love of God with a blatant sinner. One spoke about sharing his love of music with the men to lift spirits and keep God’s love in sound and in action singing “we have to keep on walking with our heads held high.” But the one who touched me the most was a new comer who asked questions about Scripture that seemed to confuse him. In loving our love of Christ we must be willing to step outside the box and take chances to fulfill His Will in our lives. Practice, Pray and Proclaim with confidence in Christ Jesus. Amen!

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today for The Leong Family to have peace. We pray for the lost and confused, the children and the elderly. We pray we always know how to say yes to Jesus. In His Precious Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,

There is no one who performs a mighty deed in My Name who can at the same time speak ill of Me.

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-23-2011

Jesus replied, “Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in My Name who can at the same time speak ill of Me. For whoever is not against us is for us.” Mark 9:39-40

Sirach 4:11-19, Psalm 119:165, 168, 171, 172, 174, 175 & Mark 9:38-40

Jealously is such a hateful feeling to experience or share leading one to be excluded from divine graces of our LORD. Jesus warns us of this tragic emotion here in Mark 9 of not valuing other people’s responses or ways they go about doing the work of the LORD by their trust in Jesus for Christ Himself tells us to be tolerant of these people who are accomplishing works of love in His Name. Humanity as a whole must be tolerant of each other’s desire to surrender our lives to Christ no matter what Christian religion they practice. When we love our love of Christ, we celebrate His miracles of grace, of healing and of love that soothes Humanity’s jealous nature and gives us reason to live a life of complete surrender to His Truth.

I write in my BIO that we should all reach out to Humanity to share His Salvation be it Baptist, Catholic, Protestant, Episcopal or any other religion or belief. We must all seek to mirror His Compassion, His Simpleness, His Charity and His Love.  I believe we must all unite in the Lord to become One Body in Christ to bring our children back to The Church to accomplish the Will of God for the Salvation of Souls. Yesterday we lost a very good friend of ours who’s opinion of some issues in the world were different than mine. She was a devout soul who was caring, loving and compassionate and while I didn’t see eye-to-eye with her on some issues, I witnessed a genuine love of Christ Jesus in her heart and her passing left me feeling lost yesterday. As I rejoice in her meeting the LORD, I will miss her smile, her flirtatious jokes and most of all her love of God because she taught me to be tolerant of people whose opinion differed from mine.

So we ask in prayer: Heavenly Father, we pray today for the soul of Helen Slocumb and souls of the faithful departed. We pray for Robert Welcome that he may find Your Truth to fulfill his life. We pray for the hungry children of the world, the homeless and the sick and dying. May they know Your Truth of Salvation through Your Son Christ Jesus. We pray this in the Name above all Names, Christ Jesus. Amen.

And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-22-2011

Tend the flock of God in your midst, (overseeing) not by constraint but willingly, as God would have it, not for shameful profit but eagerly. 1 Peter 5:2

And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18

1 Peter 5:1-4, Psalm 23:1-3a, 4, 5, 6 & Matthew 16:13-19

We are all charged as Christians to tend His Flock in a loving, gentle way seeking not to bind the Spirit but to eagerly allow the joy of God to encourage and guide us to be true examples of Christ’s Gospel. These manners come to us by way of faith in His Truth enabling us to share the love of Christ with confidence and passion. Let us not focus on the prize of heaven in the sky but the prize of heaven here on earth to accomplish good deeds of faith, hope, charity and love. For as 1 Peter 5:3-4 teach us, “Do not lord it over those assigned to you, but be examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.”

Simon Peter responds to Jesus’ question of “But who do you say that I am?”  “Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” You’ve just been told by the Messiah you are the chosen leader of whom He will trust with building up His Church. I’m sure many of us are thinking, “he must have been scared” and I’m sure he was but Christ choose Peter even knowing Peter would soon deny Him three times. He gave Peter the authority to make decisions about Christianity that is still in practice today 2000 years after His death. Jesus stood by His words “I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19 In loving his love of Christ, Peter built a church that took the Gospel to “the ends of the earth.”

So we ask in prayer: Dear Lord, we pray today to eagerly share Your Son’s Truth for the Glory of You in heaven. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

‘If you can!’ Everything is possible to one who has faith!

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-21-2011

It is the LORD; He created her, has seen her and taken note of her. Sirach 1:7

Jesus said to him, ” ‘If you can!’ Everything is possible to one who has faith.” Then the boy’s father cried out, “I do believe, help my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24

Sirach 1:1-10, Psalm 93:1ab, 1cd-2, 5 & Mark 9:14-29

The joy of living by God’s God’s grace is done by a “realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen;” faith. Hebrews 11-1 We all reach out and grasp this Truth in different ways allowing our experiences to be driven by God’s Will where our lives and transformed by His Free Will of Salvation. God’s creation of knowledge comes from the desire to firmly hold on to wisdom leading your life to live in faith, hope, charity and love. It is your life and His Plan for you that you surrender everything to Him. Don’t be afraid. He will give you wisdom to practice His Word. He will give you wisdom to pray over everything you do. He will always fill your mouth with words of wisdom to proclaim in confidence. “Acknowledge Him in all your ways. And He will direct your path.” Proverb 3:6

Well we all know we can’t see it. We all know we can’t pull it off a shelf. But we give our all to its Creator; faith. Jesus tells us “everything is possible to one who has faith.” I’m crying out like the father right now, “I do believe LORD, help MY unbelief!” The world of Holy people have attested to having an unbelief in private that resounds in everyone’s souls. Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta wrote of her “Dark Night of the Soul” humanizing the feeling many of us get each and every day. It is the dedication of our lives to living for His Glory that overrides the dark presence of evil spirits. Living anew in His Word every day. Living anew in prayer every day. Living anew in proclaiming every day. It is shouting “I do believe” every day of our lives to root out the evil seeping shadows to love our love of Christ Jesus. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Heavenly King and Father of All, we pray today to always have faith to make anything possible for Your Glory. We pray for the unbelievers, the sick-Helen Slocomb, and the homeless. We pray for the children of world who are hungry. Feed them LORD with Your everlasting satisfaction. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-20-2011

Be holy, for I, the LORD your God, am holy. Leveticus 19:2b

You shall not bear hatred for your brother in your heart. Though you may have to reprove your fellow man, do not incur sin because of him. Leviticus 19:17

If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy. 1 Corinthians 3:17

But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you. Matthew 5:44

Leviticus 19:1-2, 17-18, Psalm 103:1-2, 3-4, 8, 10, 12-13, 1 Corinthians 3:16-23 & Matthew 5:38-48

A day to reflect on lost babies, silent screamers who lost the chance to live because of a law allowing their mothers to legally kill them. The destruction of God’s Temple is occurring nonstop across the world and babies are literally being thrown away in a bin without even a proper burial. “It’s best not to worry about the fetus once the procedure is over,” a friend of mine once told me a nurse said responding to the question she asked the nurse while being lead in to the death room at the clinic she went to. Yes, I know, it’s a tough subject to talk about but God is tugging on me and America to get involved and end this tragedy of lost souls across the world.

Many years ago, I was lost in the selfish moments of being 18 and my then girlfriend of 2 months had an abortion. I have never spoken of this loss with the mother after we were married had two children and were divorced. When I addressed this death 25 years later in an Emmaus retreat, I cried my eyes out to a man I did not know but since have grown to become good friends with. I reflect today because we are going to a Family Fun Day this morning after listening to the Word of God to help raise money for Respect Life. I bear no hatred in my heart and I long to share my love of His Love with the world. Pray for the babies today, tomorrow and every day.

How does one become committed to giving your all to keeping God’s Temple clean? Or is it a lost cause? The Temple of God is everything you encompass as a human fashioned in the likeness of our Heavenly Father. The passage from 1 Corinthians 3:17 makes a lot of sense when you look at what our bodies need to operate correctly in harmony with God keeping us free of disease, depression and death.”You are what you eat” is more than an expression of Truth, it’s Biblically verified in His Word. “If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.” I believe with all my heart this includes our homes, our neighborhoods, our cities, our country and the world.

Everything belongs to Him Who made the world Who wants us to keep it clean and beautiful. There will be times you’ll see someone drop paper on the ground and instead of saying something truthfully ugly, just walk over and pick it up and smile. Yesterday I had this happen to me while in a parking lot where a young girl dropped her white danish bag as I drove into a place next to her. I got out and walked over and picked it up turning to her and her boyfriend with a smile on my face as she frowned from a distance. I know, it’s hard not to hate evil and want to stop it as we can but His Guidance in His Word gives us proof of our directions and reactions to anything evil. Even littering. Even ugliness. Even death. The day you can say I love my love of Christ is the day you can say you are “children of your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:45a

So we ask in prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, today we thank You for life and pray for the unborn of the world. Help us to be strong when we are trespassed on and to pray for our enemies as well as those who offend Your Great Name. We pray for the weak, the lonely, the depressed, the homeless and the elderly. We pray for strong families in the LORD. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

By faith we understand that the universe was ordered by the Word of God, so that what is visible came into being through the invisible

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-19-2011

By faith we understand that the universe was ordered by the Word of God, so that what is visible came into being through the invisible. Hebrews 11:3

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for anyone who approaches God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

“This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” Mark 9:7d

Hebrews 11:1-7, Psalm 145:2-3, 4-5, 10-11 & Mark 9:2-13

We live by a faith that rests in our soul giving us energy to live in the revelation of God’s Word through practice, prayer and proclamation. Amen. When we practice our love of His Word, we open the Good Book each and every day to live according to His Decrees establishing a complete surrender to His Truth. The Word of God instructs us 1 Thessalonians 5 to rejoice always, pray without ceasing and in everything give thanks to Christ Jesus. “Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the Will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

By our proclamation we are afforded the graces of Saints by our sharing the Word of God with His due reward. “He rewards those who seek Him.” The invisible became visible by the Word of God and by our practice, our prayer and our proclamation we will share the Good News of Salvation with all humanity. When we love our love of Christ Jesus, we listen to every sound of His Creation and rejoice knowing we are hearing the sounds of God to further His Redemption of the world. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear Father God, we pray today for strength in faith to open our ears and listen to Christ’s Words to live in faith, hope, charity and love. We pray for the sick, the broken hearted the lonely, the homeless and those seeking abortions today. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and that of the Gospel will save it

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-18-2011

For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and that of the Gospel will save it. Mark 8:35

 Genesis 11:1-9, Psalm 33:10-11, 12-13, 14-15 & Mark 8:34-9:1

The LORD scattered His people around the world making sure they spoke different languages biblical scholars believe because the LORD saw the building of a city as an attempt to build an urban culture separate from God. The sacred writer also was attempting to show how different languages all over the world arose from the scattering of humanity. When we separate ourselves from God, He shows us His discourse through different means of sufferings. It’s when we take His sufferings and turn them into His Will that He in turn blesses us with graces of peace and unity.

I was talking to my mother yesterday how I feel about wasting so much of my life up to about seven years ago by not giving my all to God’s Will and living a life according to the teachings Christ Jesus. She commented, “you are burning the candle at both ends.” I couldn’t agree more. I find an energy in me I’ve never felt before because of my surrender to His Plan for my life. To many people I might appear to have lost my life but in His Word I have found my Eternal Life of sharing and living in His Truth. I pray my love of loving Christ Jesus never makes me afraid of proclaiming His Truth to live for His Will. If you are ashamed of Jesus Christ, then you are ashamed of living a life in faith, hope, charity and love and will spend Eternity in torment. For, “Whoever is ashamed of Me and of My words in this faithless and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

So we ask in prayer: My LORD and My God, today we pray to lose our life in Your Son’s Truth to accomplish all we do for His Sake. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-17-2011

Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.”  Mark 8:33c

Genesis 9:1-13, Psalm 102:16-18, 19-21, 29 and 22-23 & Mark 8:27-33

The LORD establishes a covenant with Noah giving him dominion over all the creatures of the world stating, “Every creature that is alive shall be yours to eat; I give them all to you as I did the green plants.” Genesis 9:3 “God added: This is the sign that I am giving for all ages to come, of the covenant between Me and you and every living creature with you: I set my bow in the clouds to serve as a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.” Genesis 9:12-13 Long before we get the 10 commandments by Moses from the LORD, He establishes the sanctity of life by declaring, “If anyone sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; For in the image of God has man been made.” Genesis 9:6

Jesus rebukes Peter’s interference of Christ living out the Will of God to bear the sins of the world by His death and resurrection.  Jesus was trying to explain to the Disciples as “He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days.” Mark 8:31 According to many Biblical scholars the word “Satan” literally means “an adversary,” or one who opposes the accomplishment of God’s designs. Many times we interfere with our own Salvation by our lack of commitment to a Life of Christ. We become complacent with life by accepting certain sins as “ok because everyone is doing it.” There are many sins a person could list but think of it this way; What would Jesus say or do? Is sin running every facet of your life? Do you feel trapped unable to escape? Allow your love of loving Christ to overcome any type of worldly sin by your practice, prayer and proclamation of the Gospel.

So we ask in prayer: MY LORD and MY GOD. we continue prayers of healing for Jhaysonn in Shands Gainesville. We pray LORD You may give us the wisdom to never interfere with anyone’s Salvation by our own selfish needs and we live to share His Truth. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,

Romans 8: 28
“Spirit led God inspired Christ fed”

The Christ The Way The Holy One

The earth is yours to subdue
Multiply and make everything anew
The animals are yours to eat
No lifeblood animal may you seek

All human life is precious and dear
God made this absolutely clear
Take no life of human form
You will be destined to God’s scorn

A covenant for Noah and his sons traces
Life on earth filled with God’s graces
His Bow in the clouds lifting our faces
God’s love for all human races

Who am I said God’s Only Son
The Christ The Way The Holy One
I must suffer for Sin and be killed
Redemption from Satan’s earthly skill
