As long as the earth lasts, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-16-2011

As long as the earth lasts, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22

Genesis 8:6-13, 20-22, Psalm 116:12-13, 14-15, 18-19 & Mark 8:22-26

We learn here in Genesis that the LORD will send upon the earth all the seasons to establish His everlasting covenant of hope and prosperity after eliminating all living creatures for “God saw how corrupt the earth had become, since all mortals led depraved lives on earth. He said to Noah: “I have decided to put an end to all mortals on earth; the earth is full of lawlessness because of them. So I will destroy them and all life on earth.” Genesis 6:12-13 “The LORD wiped out every living thing on earth: man and cattle, the creeping things and the birds of the air; all were wiped out from the earth. Only Noah and those with him in the ark were left.” Genesis 7:23

Jesus heals a blind man here in Mark but His healing doesn’t come instantaneously it appears to be gradual in the reading. Many a Biblical scholar point out this is probably due to the fact that it was symbolic of the gradual enlightenment of Jesus’ disciples. We have a distinct need to search for this enlightenment from God. Many of us feel the need as a young person and many feel it come to them as they grew older but one thing is for sure; enlightenment comes from searching the Gospel of Christ Jesus and coming to know His Truth. This enlightenment comes from loving your love of Jesus Christ through practice, prayer and proclamation gaining the Light of Salvation to share with the world.

So we ask in prayer: Dear Father God, today we pray to always be enlightened with Your Word to accomplish Your Will. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Waters Rose to Eliminate Spite- Genesis 8

Seven months plus forty nights
Waters rose to eliminate spite
God’s wrath sent from up above
Noah’s family safe from God’s only flood

An Altar he built to show his love
Noah burned offerings for God up above
Smelling the sweet smells of thanksgiving
God made the earth again for all the living

Do you have eyes and not see, ears and not hear?

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-15-2011

Do you have eyes and not see, ears and not hear? Mark 8:18a

Genesis 6:5-8; 7:1-5, 10, Psalm 29:1a and 2, 3ac-4, 3b and 9c-10 & Mark 8:14-21

In Genesis, the LORD began to see mankind as evil and He regretted creating man to accomplish ugliness and sin. “When the LORD saw how great was man’s wickedness on earth, and how no desire that his heart conceived was ever anything but evil, he regretted that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was grieved.” Genesis 6:5-6 The LORD’s heart found favor in His servant Noah and the LORD directed Noah to build an Ark to carry the creatures and beasts of the earth. There comes a time in everyone’s life that we either listen to the LORD and do as He asks us or we take our chances with the world and live a life of selfishness. One day, we too will be drowned in a flood of sin that will take away your heart and soul or we can choose to live in peace as the flood waters rise around you by our surrender to Christ Jesus.

We are called to understand the Words and Deeds of Jesus in the verse “watch out, guard against the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” But still the Disciples did not understand His Words because they could not see this in the multiplication of the loaves for the 4000 or the 5000 people. Since yeast, or leaven, induced fermentation in bread dough, it was a perfect symbol of the insidious effect of those who opposed Jesus. How many of us see His miracles every day but are unwilling to serve because of selfish needs?

I have written about the need for us to carry our own sign these last few days instead of waiting for a sign from God to live for Him. Yesterday I stopped and prayed with a woman who had made just a sign. She was holding an advertising sign for some company when I noticed by her feet a sign that read “Jesus loves you.” I immediately turned in and parked near her. As I got out and approached her I said, “I have asked people to make up their own sign to show their love of Christ instead of waiting for Him to give them a sign. And today here was an affirmation of this. I would like to pray with you.” And I began praying out loud with my eyes closed and as I finished I opened my eyes and she was holding her hands up high repeating “thank You Jesus, thank You Jesus, thank You Jesus.”

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, today I pray for Brother Ed Kassler and his wife, Gerry. Please place Your healing hands on him and make him well. I also pray for my son Allen Thomas Wiggins who turns 25 today. We pray we can always understand Your Word and always be focused on Your love during the floods of emotions, problems and obstacles in our lives. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,
Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

If you do well, you can hold up your head; but if not, sin is a demon lurking at the door: his urge is toward you, yet you can be his master

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-14-2011

If you do well, you can hold up your head; but if not, sin is a demon lurking at the door: his urge is toward you, yet you can be his master. Genesis 4:7

Genesis 4:1-15, 25, Psalm 50:1 and 8, 16bc-17, 20-21 & Mark 8:11-13

How many of you have ever your parents told you this exact same thing? “If you do well, you can hold up your head.” I remember my father telling me this and I often would run to him to tell him when I did something I was proud of but I avoided him when I did something I wasn’t proud of. I relish this line in Genesis because it tells us we are the master over sin who’s urge is toward all of humanity. He does lurk at every door, every corner and every click of the internet. Your love of loving Christ gives you the power to overcome any temptation by your faith, hope and love of living for His Truth.

Sign Sign everywhere a sign. Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind. Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign.” The Five Man Electrical Band from Canada wrote this tune back in 1973 where it sold over 1 million copies and they were awarded a gold record. Jesus tells us in Mark 8 that Humanity needs no more signs of human origin even though the Pharisees wouldn’t believe any miracle He produced anyway. Believe in the sign of God’s presence in every mouth who speaks the Gospel. Believe in the signs of God’s work in homeless shelters around the world. Make up your own sign sharing His Good News with strangers passing you on a corner. The Signs of Christ are anywhere you want them to be. Just believe He is your reason for living and share your own signs of Him with humanity on a t-shirt.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, I pray today for Helen Slocomb’s recovery. I pray today everyone shares Your Truth for St. Valentines Day in recognition of Your love of all Humanity. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’ Anything more is from the evil one

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-13-2011

The eyes of God see all he has made; he understands man’s every deed. No man does he command to sin, to none does he give strength for lies. Sirach 15:19-20

Rather, we speak God’s wisdom, mysterious, hidden, which God predetermined before the ages for our glory, 1 Corinthians 2:7

Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’ Anything more is from the evil one. Mathew 5:37

Sirach 15:15-20, Psalm 119:1-2, 4-5, 17-18, 33-34, 1 Corinthians 2:6-10 & Matthew 5:17-37

I pray all of you are sitting down with your Bibles and reviewing the Scripture in my study today. A powerful way to start your day is in Mathew Chapter 5. Even today, humanity continues to speak God’s wisdom by our daily walk of faith, action and charity and we are reminded of this by Paul’s message to the Corinthians in chapter 2 first letter. “But as it is written: “What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love Him,” this God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit scrutinizes everything, even the depths of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 The Spirit of God reaches the depths of mankind’s soul leaving out not a single one. His Truth guides us to happiness allowing our lives to be examples of His strength, his courage and His humble servitude to instill in humanity peace and harmony.

The Fulfillment of God’s Plan for mankind is described in Matthew chapter 5 after the Beatitudes where we learn Christ’s coming fulfilled the law. “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.” Matthew 5:17 The Kingdom of Heaven we are seeking is brought forth by our commitment to teaching each other how to give thanks to the LORD for everything we do and teaching each other how to give faith, compassion and love. Jesus tells us not to hold anything against anyone for anything by forgiving to accomplish the covenant of love for the Glory of God less we be held liable for not sharing and living His Truth. “Whoever is angry with brother will be liable to judgment.” Matthew 5:22a

The sin of lust drives home the main reasons why young people can’t make marriages work but I’m here to tell you that any marriage will work by placing God first in all you do and harmony exists for the Glory of the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit. There becomes no reason to lust in your heart for your lust is fulfilled in God the Father to accomplish His Will. There will be no reason to cut off an arm or pluck an eye out when you allow the your love of loving Christ be your every thought and your every move. “Do not take a false oath, but make good to the Lord all that you vow. But I say to you, do not swear at all; not by heaven, for it is God’s throne.” Matthew 5:33b-34

So we ask in prayer; My LORD and My God, today I pray Robert Welcome comes to know Your Son’s Truth. I pray we all live for the Glory of God by speaking Your written wisdom by our Yes we live in life. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,

Written by His Spirit to never forget
His Son came to earth with no regret

Being least in Heaven seems ugly to wit
Or is just being in Heaven a life to commit?
Humble and willing to accomplish His Plan
Not boastful praising but deceitful ban

Anyone of old confirms killing is wrong
Judgment looms from God’s Holy Throne
Release judgment on all brothers known
A fool’s release from Satan’s fiery stone

Pay what is due before court’s ruling truce
Adulterous affairs will return to prove
God’s justice of everlasting proof
Seek not to sin before losing a tooth

Then the LORD God said: “See! The man has become like one of us, knowing what is good and what is bad!

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-12-2011

Then the LORD God said: “See! The man has become like one of us, knowing what is good and what is bad! Genesis 3:22a

You have kept our faults before You, our hidden sins exposed to Your sight. Psalm 90:8

Genesis 3:9-24, Psalm 90:2, 3-4abc, 5-6, 12-13 & Mark 8:1-10

Do you ever just sit and listen to the world and touch God in it in everything you hear? We search for quiet places to accomplish this bringing forth sounds of whispering breezes and creaking homes or churches while He speaks to us in experiences and guided visions our mind, body and soul engage in to accomplish His Will. Adam was hiding, or was he? For we all know nothing can be hidden from God as the nakedness of everything we are, everything we do and everything we believe God always has His Hand in it. Don’t allow yourself to be tricked by the ugliness a serpents lie can do to your lives by staying in union with God through consecration of everything you do. The joy of living in Free Will enables us to understand the Truth of knowing what is good and evil but how many of us really accept everything we do in the Name of the LORD thus avoiding evil/sin completely?

God has given us all the ability to see Him in each little detail life brings along but we still continue to deny Him, His Son and His Spirit. We are guided to share His Word by our commitment to faith, hope, charity and love in the Name of Christ Jesus where everyone of us who believes in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit seeks to give himself completely to the LORD for the LORD’s use. Then will people seek you out to find Christ in you where God knows you can be a person of His integrity, His humility and His Hope to bring about energy to live His Redemption. Today I will walk with my arm on a man’s shoulder who I have been sharing the Word of God with for months to see him fulfill his commitment to the LORD in confirming his desire to serve the LORD for his family, for his work and his life. As I watch him today, I will be reminded how important living for God is to allow an entry point for those I share His Truth with as I continue on to teach the man’s children Bible instruction. I pray my instruction guides them to live as a people who will love their love of Christ in everything they do by living in faith, by living in charity and by living in love. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Heavenly Father, we pray today for the ability to choose what is good instead what is bad to live Truth for peace and harmony with humanity. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

The woman saw that the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eyes, and desirable for gaining wisdom

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-11-2011

The woman saw that the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eyes, and desirable for gaining wisdom. Genesis 3:6a

Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”) Mark 7:34

Genesis 3:1-8, Psalm 32:1-2, 5, 6, 7 & Mark 7:31-37

Sometimes in life we are so busy we make quick choices and end up getting it all wrong by allowing other people to convince us of something we should not do. This is such the case in the Garden of Eden when the serpent tricks Eve into eating from the Tree of Knowledge and in doing so realizing they have been given the ability to see good and evil. Husbands should listen to their wives so you can’t blame Adam for doing what Eve wanted by eating the fruit but it’s when you allow other people to convince you to do something that will hurt you is where Satan wants you most.

Allow your eyes, your mind and your soul to experience “Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”)  as Jesus does to the deaf man in Tyre and experience the love of loving Christ to its fullest. There is something lacking in your life and it’s affecting your judgment in living life free of worry. With all my heart and soul, I believe it is the lack of a relationship with Christ Jesus. Allow His Truth to guide your every thought and feel the freedom of living a life in Truth.

So we ask in prayer: My LORD and My God, we pray today for wisdom from reading Your Word and following Your commandments. We pray we have the courage to say no to Satan’s trickery and Yes to Christ’s Truth. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Ashamed and God-fearing Hiding Behind a Tree

Cunning and ugly the serpent had his way
Adam and Eve followed only to lose their say
The fruit was delicious filling them with pride
God reached down and ended their wild ride

Now they lay naked and open for all to see
Ashamed and God-fearing hiding behind a tree
How can anyone hide from God they learned to be
His Power sees through anything so truly obviously

A deaf mute learned of His Power when Jesus spoke
His loving touch must have been a soothing stroke
Guided by His Father Christ made the blind see
And the deaf spoke clearly of God’s love for Humanity

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two of them become one body

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-10-2011

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two of them become one body. Genesis 2:24

Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.”  Mark 7:28b

Genesis 2:18-25, Psalm 128:1-2, 3, 4-5 & Mark 7:24-30

I pray all of you have a spouse who lifts you up daily in prayer like mine allowing you to feel as if you have become one body in mind, flesh and soul. I explain to people I meet why my wife and I have chosen to join or last names was because we wanted to solidify our union as Soul-Mates in Christ to become One in God in all things. An amazing beauty when you seek to mirror the love of God with your spouse in everything you do.

From the first prayer in the morning to the last prayer at night we compliment each other with our encouragement, our concern and willingness to seek God in a total surrender to a life of Christ together. There is a faith seen by Christ in the woman asking to heal her daughter of demons that should be carried together as One in marriage. Believe in His Truth to accomplish the Will of God in all things allowing His Love to shine forth among Humanity as an example for all to see. Practice with your spouse (read the Bible together). Pray with your spouse (pray together you’ll stay together). Proclaim with your spouse (pray with a waiter when you go our to eat). Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, I pray all marriages become One in Body, Mind and Spirit to Glorify You in all things. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-9-2011

The LORD God formed man out of the clay of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and so man became a living being. Genesis 2:7

Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile. Mark 7:15

Genesis 2:4b-9, 15-17, Psalm 104:1-2a, 27-28, 29bc-30 & Mark 7:14-23

As a school teacher, I encounter children doing things repeatedly you ask them not to do. No matter how much you explain to some children, “don’t climb the tree because you could fall and hurt yourself” they still climb the tree when your back is turned. Even after a child has fallen and broke his arm, they still want to climb that tree. I relate this to Adam being told not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge when He said to Adam, “The LORD God gave man this order: “You are free to eat from any of the trees of the garden except the tree of knowledge of good and bad. From that tree you shall not eat; the moment you eat from it you are surely doomed to die.” Genesis 2:16-17

Humanity likes adventure. Humanity likes to seek the thrill and push the limits of living to the very edge. Some people you can’t tell anything to because they are going to do what they want or they’re going to follow anyone leading them into mischievous activity. By having God in our life we learn to pray for the lost and wondering. As a parent of five children, you learn by God’s Word to discipline your child in living the life of Christ by action and example. I see children who are schooled in the way of the LORD and those who are not and believe me, you can tell the children who are learning to act with respect, helpful enthusiasm and a true desire to learn versus the children who are lacking the fundamentals of gaining knowledge without God as their guide. I have taken on the responsibility of teaching all children but I relish teaching children who are respectful in the Glory of God the Father because their parents are taking the time to school them Biblically and they come to school eager to learn with respect as their guide.

Jesus reminds us in Mark 7 it’s not food that defiles a person but the thoughts and actions of our mind and soul. “But what comes out of a person that is what defiles. From within people, from their hearts, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly. All these evils come from within and they defile.” Mark 7: 20-23 We all know what happened to Adam and Eve when they didn’t follow God’s instructions, it is our duty to teach our children and family, our friends and our coworkers the Way of Truth by our words, our deeds and our actions. God the Father breathed life into the nostrils of man by taking clay and molding him in His Image. It is our duty as His Disciple to mold our family, our friends and aquaintenances into loving their love of Christ to find the Redemption of Eternal Life. Practice, Pray and Proclaim. Amen!

And so we ask in prayer: Dear LORD. we pray today Your people will know Your Truth and teach our children to love Your Word to accomplish Your Will. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God’s Only Son Informed Us to Care

No shrub yet planted
No grass on the field
His wisdom firmly rooted
Man formed from clay to appeal

Breath of life fed into his nose
Breathing Adam smiled and rose
Eat and be filled with every grace
Forbid only to eat of knowledge’s base

This tree is of Good and Evil
Doomed to die if laid on your table
Much like that of wicked thoughts
Eternal damnation for Satan’s lot

Nourishment passes through and out
Christ informed in a parable they got
No food can defile from within
Only evil thoughts from your heart begin

To ruin a life and those around you
Killing and blaspheming alters affairs
All food is said to be clean to share
God’s Only Son informed us to care

You disregard God’s commandment but cling to human tradition

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-8-2011

God created man in His image; in the Divine Image He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27

You disregard God’s commandment but cling to human tradition. Mark 7:8

Genesis 1:0-2:4a, Psalm 8:4-5, 6-7, 8-9 & Mark 7:1-13

We continue our walk through Genesis and the formation of man, the living creatures and the green plants for food describing how pleased God was with all He created. After six days of work, He rested on the seventh day making it Holy describing in Genesis 2:3, “So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work he had done in creation.” There comes a time we all must rest from our work for the LORD and rejuvenate our bodies with proper pampering and relaxation. Take the time to bring yourselves back to the surrender Christ calls all of us to give.

Jesus describes the traditions of the Jewish peoples and by the Pharisees explaining there are some things they believe they do before eating such as washing their hands that are not as important as following the example of Christ in living. Jesus said, “Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me; In vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines human precepts.’ You disregard God’s commandment but cling to human tradition.” He went on to say, “How well you have set aside the commandment of God in order to uphold your tradition!” Mark 7: 6-9 Jesus makes it very clear that human tradition doesn’t outweigh God’s laws.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, I pray to give myself completely to You in body, mind and spirit by my actions of following Your Word. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

God Bless,
Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins
Romans 8:28

Your tradition is Human Not God’s Word Fed

The water was filled by His grace
Living creatures of which we can taste
Even the birds of the sky came to prove
Heaven and earth were filled for me and you

Animals of every kind began to roam
Filling the earth with more graces shown
In His Image He created a boy and a girl
Dominion was ours by His love to fulfill

All of this happened in six days or less
The earth was formed without proper rest
God looked down and found it very good
On Seventh Day He rested as each of us should

Washing before meals can’t change your fate
Christ told the Pharisees as they continued to hate
Your lips may honor the things I have said
Your tradition is human not God’s Word fed

Bless the LORD, my soul! LORD, my God, You are great indeed!

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-7-2011

Bless the LORD, my soul! LORD, my God, You are great indeed! Psalm 104:1

Genesis 1:1-19, Psalm 104:1-2a, 5-6, 10 and 12, 24 and 35c & Mark 6:53-56

The beginning of the earth and all the amazing things put into place by the LORD has still to this day astounded many a human when you read the first chapter of Genesis. Psalm 104 shares the same feelings many of us feel when we think of what awesome power God has to create such wonders for us to witness and live by.

When we read how the earth began, I believe it our duty to acknowledge the greatness of our LORD and give Him His due homage. We should not only be thankful for the life He has breathed into mankind and for this amazing world we live in but for the Redemption His Son brought to Humanity to gain Eternal Life. Let there be a Light in your love of loving Christ Jesus to live His Will each and every day.

And so we ask in prayer: Dear Heavenly King, we pray today to always be thankful for Your great works in creating the earth. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,

Only His Works Upon His Foundation

Waters with great winds reduce
A wasteland formed to produce
Habitat for mankind’s journey
Light from God to prove us worthy

To see was called day
To rest was called night
To live and to share together
Called out of darkness by His Light

The sky was but a dream
The living by day near a stream
Vegetation He gave with a seed
To replant and furnish every need

In the beginning all Truth was formed
By the Hands of our Great God the norm
There was no wishful thinking
Only His Works upon His Foundation
