The Holy Saturday many thought they were certainly Crucified with Jesus.

We know that our old self was Crucified with Him, so that our sinful body might be done away with, that we might no longer be in slavery to sin. For a dead person has been absolved from sin. If, then, we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him. Romans 6:6-8

Genesis 1:1–2:2, Psalm 16, Romans 6: 3-11 & Luke 24:1-12

The Holiest of Saturdays reflects on Christ’s frightening death on a Cross the day before while living in the present day of True Sabbath observance where historians trust this is why Judas’ body was not touched or moved believing the rope or branch eventually broke. The scene must have been horrendous and made it difficult to eat transitioning the Church into a history of fasting on Saturday that included 40 hours of no food. Our lives have changed but remain the same since Christ’s death for the severe fast is now offered on Friday yet we still reflect on this uncertainty many followers felt before knowing the Resurrection as Promised by Christ but seemingly doubted until the day Thomas places His hand in His side exclaiming, “My LORD and My God.”

The first day after Christ’s death must have been taxing on the soul of any who came to believe in the Teacher. Many thought they were certainly Crucified with Jesus dying an agonizing death of love feeling hopeless, unsure and lost. It wasn’t until the next day did anyone discover His Resurrection feeling exuberating amidst deep terrifying fears. Reflect today on His Resurrection and why it gave anyone who confesses Christ is LORD dies with Him being “absolved from sin.” Reflect on what scares you as they were scared being without Him over 2000 years ago. How can you manage your fears by living surrendered to a life of Christ? What can you do to make your life represent an Apostle of faith, hope and love living in charity? God asks us to have faith “he died to sin once and for all; as to his life, he lives for God” as we are asked to do. Amen.

We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today our old self dies from sin living for faith, hope and love of Your Son Christ Jesus. Praying for Kairos. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. Greg Bishop has constant prayers. Day three of a Novena for Peter John and his wife Joy to find work and trust God will work His grace in their life. LORD from Psalm 56:5 I chant, ”I praise the word of God; I trust in God, I do not fear. What can mere flesh do to me?.” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

I am yours in Christ,

Be not unaware

Christ baptism share

In His death we dare

Raised from the snare

Of death we daily stare

Giving all glory to the Father’s care

Living in the newness of life’s fair

United with Him in Resurrection’s prayer

Done away with old self’s flair

Slavery no more to sin’s mare

Absolved from sin dead in Christ

Living for God in Christ’s Light

He lives for God dead to sin

Once and for all sin’s death limb

No power of death we comprehend

Learn from God Eternal Life begins

About Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

My name is Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins. I first recognize Christ as my Savior in all things. I am married to my best friend and Soul-Mate in Christ, Antonia Cruz-Wiggins. I am a University of Florida graduate of Public Relations, a US Navy Veteran and a Montessori Elementary School Teacher. I love life and God's help of living it! I follow the Light of Christ in everything I do! I love writing poetry about the Lord and I create a new poem from each Scripture I discern in my daily mediations. You can almost follow the poem by looking at the readings for each day. I started sharing this small yet personal scripture study four years ago when one day I was reading the bible and the Holy Spirit moved me to share the verse with a group of about 40 Christian Men in my Emmaus Ministry who get together weekly to celebrate the Lord and talk about His Truth. Since then the number of people I share my study with has grown to over 650. I enjoy an open loving dialog about anything I write and I have strived to write what I know the Lord wants me to share steering clear of offending anyone’s spiritual beliefs because I share my work with people I meet in public when I strike up a conversation about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It took almost 2 years to begin writing what the Holy Spirit leads me to say. I believe that all Christians must unite as One Body of Christ’s Love to accomplish the joy of living with love, honor and respect. I reach out to Humanity to share His Salvation be it Baptist, Catholic, Protestant, Episcopal or any other religion or belief. I seek to mirror His Compassion, His Simpleness, His Charity and His Love. While I am Catholic, I believe we must all unite in the Lord to become One Body in Christ to bring our children back to The Church. I am humbled to share my study with you. Please feel free to comment any time. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is my Joy because I am a Disciple of His Truth. I am honored to share my Bible study with anyone you may recommend. As always, I remain, Yours in Christ, Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins
