This is the time of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel. Mark 1:15

Jonah 3:1-5, 10, Psalm 25, 1 Corinthians 7:29-31 & Mark 1:14-20

God’s everlasting Promises come to complete fulfillment in the life of God at work in the Truth of Christ’s existence. After Jesus is baptized by his cousin John, Divine intervention is fulfilled by the descent of the Spirit on Jesus anointing Him for His ministry. He has prayed and fasted for 40 days in the desert rebuking Satan’s advances and begins His Divine Work by announcing “This is the time of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel.” Mark 1:15

I can only imagine that Jesus already knows whom He is going to call to become His Disciples as He walks about the edge of the water and calls out to Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea. He exclaims to them my favorite t-shirt quote I had printed on the back of the “I Love Jesus Christ” t-shirt, “Come after me, and I will make you Fishers of Men.” Mark 1:17 His public ministry begins and our world has a Redeemer of sins.

The need to call out and repent of a sinful way of living is a constant battle with humanity and I believe is in the Plan for Salvation by God since the beginning of time. It is obvious to me that living a life led by God can be a continuous conflict to ward off evil spirits to live a life of faith, hope and love. To live in a state of Repentance holding on to the Good Book of Life is the only way I believe mankind can find God’s Truth, God’s forgiveness and God’s love.

Today I ask America to join with me in one minute of silent prayer whenever you read my words in observance of the estimated 51 million babies that have died in the United States alone on this 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Close your eyes with me right now in God’s Spirit and pray we can overcome this shameful disgusting act of legalized murder by our thoughts, actions and deeds. Stop and Pray NOW for “Lost Lives of Christ’s Soul.”

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to repent constantly by living the Gospel of Your Son Christ Jesus. We pray for the end of abortion everywhere in the world. We pray for the NJ Emmaus Team and candidates of the June Emmaus Retreat. We pray for Pam Bishop. We pray for LIFE FM. We pray for our wives, children, family, friends, and strangers we pray with every day. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

When His relatives heard of this they set out to seize Him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.” Mark 3:21

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-21-2012

When His relatives heard of this they set out to seize Him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.” Mark 3:21

2 Samuel 1:1-27, Psalm 80 & Mark 3:20-21

Many relatives of Jesus and unbelieving scribes from Jerusalem attributed the powers of Christ as coming from Beelzebul, which translates literally into “Lord of Flies” meaning He appears as a demon describing the name of one of the seven princes of Hell. His own people chose not to believe Him as He obviously did healings and promoted love by Divine Power. There were those even among the relatives of Jesus who disbelieved and regarded Jesus as out of His mind (Mark 3:21). Soon we will learn in Mark that Jesus will respond to the arrival of His family by not showing family ties but doing God’s Will (Mark 35) is being decisive for the Kingdom of God.

We encounter this disbelief of Christ each day of our lives and some may even consider you as “off your rocker.” Jesus reminds us in John 15:18 that the world will hate you but to remember they hated His Truth first. Our lives of living for His Truth cause people to hate for they want nothing more than to live in their selfish joy of denial. I have learned to embrace Christ’s words in Matthew 10:22 to persist to the end. “You will be hated by all because of My Name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved.” Yesterday at our school we had a peace march in support of the freedom Nelson Mandela pursued for the people of South Africa. He once said, “We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.”

Today we will be praying at the abortion clinic here in South Miami to reflect on the disbelief of many Americans who believe it is Ok to kill the life of a baby for any reason whatsoever. This unbelief is similar to the unbelief of the scribes and family of Jesus who sought to seize Him because they believed He went against the Truth God instilled in the hearts of mankind. Nelson Mandela’s words above resonate in the soul of humanity as the Truth we must seek to manifest by acknowledging Gods glory and not our own. God did not give us “free will” to kill but to celebrate life in all stages. We, humanity, must do as Jesus and Nelson Mandela did; promote peace and love to heal all things and forgive. We must continue overcome abortion’s tragedy on the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade by faith, hope and love in not aggression but by prayer and deed. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to always share our belief of Your Son’s Truth. We pray for the babies that will die today from abortions. We begin our prayers for the NJ Emmaus Team and future candidates of their June Emmaus Retreat. We pray for Pam Bishop. We pray for LIFE FM. I pray for my wife, children, family, and friends. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

He appointed twelve [whom He also named Apostles] that they might be with Him and He might send them forth to preach. Mark 3:14

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-20-2012

He appointed twelve [whom He also named Apostles] that they might be with Him and He might send them forth to preach. Mark 3:14

1 Samuel 24:3-21, Psalm 57 & Mark 3:13-19

When I read the names of the Twelve Apostles in Mark, I am reminded of the classic Tom Sawyer where Tom is asked to repeat the names of at least two of the Twelve Apostles in chapter two because he had supposedly learned 2000 versus in the Bible. As the parent of a new child in class asks for the names of at least two Apostles, Tom blurts out, “Samson and Goliath,” and runs out of the class embarrassed. There’s nothing like an old classis literature to bring home memories of God’s Will in your life.

If you are reading this at any point in your life, you too are called to be His Apostles of Redemption so the Truth of Christ may bring forth a better world to raise our children. We must be willing to step up and share His faith, hope (charity) and love with anyone, anywhere and anytime. I walked in to a fast food restaurant yesterday to have my usual daily salad when a man nodded and said “Good Day sir” as I went to sit down and eat. As I ate, his back was turned to me the whole time and I thought how pleasant it was to hear him make a warm welcome gesture to me.

When I finished lunch, I began to leave but I was drawn to him to say “God Bless you” before I walked out. After introducing myself to him and saying God Bless you, he asked if he could share something with me. He opened his backpack and said, “My name is James Odom and I just finished writing this last year after working on it all my life, it is a daily devotional I titled, ‘Divinely Guided.’” Well, I almost fell over feeling the joy of Christ’s love. I commented about my daily writings for the LORD and asked if we could pray together. Holding hands we prayed as people stood and stared. I pray we all can have these God-instances more often and fulfill Christ’s request to become Disciples of His Truth. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to always be Apostles of Your Son’s Truth. We say a prayer of thanksgiving for James Odom. We begin our prayers for the NJ Emmaus Team and future unknown candidates of their June Emmaus Retreat. We pray for Pam Bishop. We pray for LIFE FM. I pray for my wife, children, family, and friends. I praise the Word of God; I trust in God, I do not fear. What can mere flesh do to me? Psalm 56:5

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-19-2012

I praise the Word of God; I trust in God, I do not fear. What can mere flesh do to me? Psalm 56:5

1 Samuel 18:6-9; 19:1-7, Psalm 56 & Mark 3:7-12

When you read the book of One Samuel, you’ll find courage, victory and jealously all wrapped into one amazing story of success that you may find in your life today. In our study, we find David receiving praise from the people for his victory over the great Philistine Goliath that took the courage of an entire army to accomplish but was carried out by a child who believed his God would lead him and protect him.

The comparison in size alone made the entire army shake with fear but not David. His courage came from praising our God, which led him in thought, action and deed. Once he slew the Great Philistine, he was given a heroes welcome that in a song his own king was given diminished number of kills that infuriated him. After discussing with his son Jonathan that he wanted to kill David, Jonathan reported to David to hide until he had a chance to change his mind.

You will find this in the ways of today as you approach your life with confidence in God and people around you will want you out of the way because of your success over them. You must stay steadfast in the LORD’s Word and become a humble servant if His Truth to trust Him over all obstacles leading even your enemies to repent and find solace in God’s Truth of living. The son of Saul made his father see the goodness in David and swayed his jealousy to become a trusted son-in-law and believer in God’s Will. You too must praise the Word of God and trust Him enabling you to live without fear. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to praise the Word of God and trust in Your Truth to guide us to a life of living without fear. We begin our prayers for the NJ Emmaus Team and future unknown candidates of their June Emmaus Retreat. We pray for Pam Bishop. We pray for LIFE FM. I pray for my wife, children, family, and friends. O God, a new song I will sing to You; on a ten-stringed lyre I will play for You. Psalm 144:9

O God, a new song I will sing to You; on a ten-stringed lyre I will play for You. Psalm 144:9

1 Samuel 17:32-51, Psalm 144 & Mark 3:1-6

Today I officially welcome the candidates from last weekends Emmaus at St. Louis Church. As Psalm 144 describes, there is a shifting of thoughts from pleading to thanksgiving and the desire to pray for the people of the world when you find God as your strength and fortress. Many people begin to acknowledge God more readily after an Emmaus willing to let go of demands and seek to be thankful for every little detail of life. It is my prayer that here in brevity each day, everyone who reads my Scripture study and poetry will see God’s Truth as His Roadmap to Life allowing each of us an opportunity to conform to God’s Will in every thought, every action and every deed.

I would like to share with my readers yesterday’s comment from Kathleen and Patricia who are Co-Founders of the website www.EatHealLive.com . I was touched by their beautiful message and it my prayer each of you will be to.

We at Eat Heal Live enjoy reading Wig’s Word of God every morning before we start our day. We thank you for giving so much of yourself to helping others. We are touched by the kindness you share and are sending you a inspiring book to give to Zirka and Craig or anyone one else dealing with cancer. It has been helpful to many of our clients who have been diagnosed with cancer. Our mission is to increase health and wellness across the world through spirit and enthusiasm. We wish you success in your mission as we both promote the ripple effect of helping humankind. Anam Cara: A Book Of Celtic Wisdom by John O’Donohue.

May the light of your soul guide you. May the light of your soul bless the work you do with the secret love and warmth of your heart. May you see in what you do the beauty of your own soul. May the sacredness of your work bring healing, light and renewal to those who work with you and to those who see and receive your work. May your work never weary you. May it release within you wellsprings of   refreshment, inspiration, and excitement. May you be present in what you do. May you never become lost in the bland absences. May the day never burden. May dawn find you awake and alert, approaching your new day with dreams, possibilities, and promises. May evening find you gracious and fulfilled. May you go into the night blessed, sheltered and protected. May your soul calm, console and renew you.

With Blessings,

Blessed the people who know the war cry, who walk in the radiance of Your face, LORD. Psalm 89:16

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-17-2012

Blessed the people who know the war cry, who walk in the radiance of Your face, LORD. Psalm 89:16

1 Samuel 16:1-13, Psalm 89 & Mark 2:23-28

There are people who you pass every day on the streets who seem lost and confused but still know the LORD’s War Cry. These people don’t have the prettiest faces or the cleanest clothes but they do have the eyes of Christ and search for answers to their problems in prayer. Many times these people look as if they haven’t taken a bath in ages but walk in the righteousness of the LORD by their Baptism donning a clean heart and a lonely soul who shiver a night in the cold because their Free Will has taken them to the streets of survival.

For the last few years, I have taken the time to reach out to the people who’ve I’ve come to know as “Children of Christ’s Lost Soul.” Many times they are college educated gripped by Satan’s evil substance of abuse in some chemical or drink seeking not to hurt anyone but to survive the elements of life needing warm clothes from the cold, prayer and conversation and a warm meal to soothe their broken heart. Yesterday my wife and I took our Homeless Ministry “Trunk of Comfort” and went specifically to a group of people who I’ve noticed close to our home. We met several people who live together in a makeshift camp craving conversation, acceptance and love.

As we arrived, they naturally thought we were there to give them money but I called out to them to come over and pick out some fresh clean clothes and shoes I carry around to help these beautiful Christ-like people. My wife gave some clean clothes and costume jewelry to a woman named Edith or “Edi” for short as I sized up Willy, J.B. and Billy with some new pants, shirts and shoes.

Billy and J.B. wore a smile of appreciation I’ll never forget and when I handed Billy a close friend’s jacket he donated, I thought he was going to cry. We ended our visit by holding hands with “Edi” as we asked her to pray in any way she new how. Her prayer was “beautiful” my wife commented as we honked and drove away. We decided to go get them two pizzas arriving a short time later with “Edi” adorned in her new costume jewelry wearing a smile of Christ no one could deny. Her “War Cry” to the LORD was genuine with a radiance of Christ’s love ion her face. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to live the War Cry of Truth by the radiance of our faces. We pray for the Team and Candidates of the Emmaus Retreat at St. Louis as they begin their journey to live for His Truth. May my words give them comfort and direction for Your glory LORD. Offer praise as your sacrifice to God; fulfill your vows to the Most High. Then call on Me on the day of distress; I will rescue you, and you shall honor Me. Psalm 50:14-15

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-16-2012

Offer praise as your sacrifice to God; fulfill your vows to the Most High. Then call on Me on the day of distress; I will rescue you, and you shall honor Me. Psalm 50:14-15

1 Samuel 15:16-23, Psalm 50 & Mark 2:18-22

Yesterday I wrote that God wants obedience rather than sacrifice and today we continue this request from God in Psalm 50 as the Psalmist describes what is required of the faithful while rebuking the hypocritical worshiper as he concludes with a threat and a promise of how God will react to the faithful and the unfaithful.

Offer praise as your sacrifice to God; fulfill your vows to the Most High. Then call on Me on the day of distress; I will rescue you, and you shall honor Me. But to the wicked God says: “Why do you recite My Commandments and profess my covenant with your mouth? You hate discipline; you cast My words behind you!” Psalm 50:14-17

Now understand this, you who forget God, lest I start ripping apart and there be no rescuer. Those who offer praise as a sacrifice honor Me; I will let him whose way is steadfast look upon the Salvation of God.” Psalm 50:22-23

Twice a year a group of men place their obedience at the Foot of the Cross in conducting a retreat called the Walk to Emmaus. In less than 48 hours, as many as 50 men or more become aware of how ordinary men of faith praise and worship God in every aspect of their lives. The poem I share today is a rewrite of the original I wrote on Saturday and shared with the entire group.

The poem describes first the anger of losing Jesus as they walked to Emmaus, the bewilderment they felt when Jesus came along unnoticed teaching them why He had to suffer, and finally rejoicing of Christ’s Resurrection when He broke the bread and became known to them before vanishing. Many men today will have a fire burning inside just as the two Disciples did and they will know He has Risen Indeed. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit praise you LORD to live in Your Truth. We pray for the Team and Candidates of the Emmaus Retreat at St. Louis. Guide them LORD to live for Your Word. We pray for Pam Bishop. We pray for LIFE FM. I pray for my wife, children, family, and friends. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Seven miles to Emmaus the men walked along

Two Disciples who watched a humanity’s ugly wrong

Why was the Christ killed by tormented Crucifixion?

As they conversed Jesus drew near without recognition

What are you talking about making you speak so downcast?

Cleopas asked was He the only one who didn’t know the past.

The sort of things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene

A Prophet Mighty in Deed and Word before God pristine

How our chief priests and rulers handed Him over to death

But we hoped He would Redeem all of Israel from the rest

Third Day women from our group found an empty tomb at best

Angels described to them He was alive overcoming the test

Then some of us went to the tomb to find He was indeed gone

As they said this the Man began to say how slow of heart we shone

That we should have believed what the Prophets had already spoke

The Messiah must suffer these things to find the glory they note

Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets words

He described to them the Truth He must have lived and heard

Then they approached the village of which they already conferred

Stay for it is night and we’ll break bread to nourish and concur

So He went in to stay and reclined at table with them

As He broke the bread and said the blessing with a beautiful grin

Their eyes became open and the Christ was truly Him

He vanished from sight as their hearts burned from within

Saying to each other the feeling of Truth we felt as He spoke

Our hearts were glowing with His glory they began to note

As He opened the Scriptures from His heart to eternally boast

They returned to share the event with the Disciples He loved the most

As they entered the place of rest where the Disciples frightfully dwelt

They shouted the LORD has been raised by the Truth we just felt

Appearing to Simon on the Road to Emmaus describing our every need

Made known to us in breaking of the bread He had already planted a seed

On the Road to Emmaus Jesus Christ has Risen He Has Risen Indeed

I do not conceal your righteousness within my heart; I speak of your loyalty and your Salvation. I do not hide your mercy or faithfulness from a great assembly. Psalm 40:11

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-15-2012

I do not conceal your righteousness within my heart; I speak of your loyalty and your Salvation. I do not hide your mercy or faithfulness from a great assembly. Psalm 40:11

1 Samuel 3:3b-10, 19, Psalm 40, 1 Corinthians 6:13-20 & John 1:35-42

Psalm 40 stipulates the precise mode of thanksgiving: not animal sacrifice but open and enthusiastic proclamation of the Salvation just experienced (when you repent and know Christ as your Savior) by giving thanks acknowledging that being thankful is not purely a human response but is itself a Divine Gift. One of many Old Testament revelations of God’s Only Son. When Jesus Christ was nailed to a Tree, His own Blood covered all sacrifices for sin ever needed by humanity. Our job is to enthusiastically embrace the Salvation offered to us by God by the Death of His Son on the Cross of Redemption. We are given explicit instructions in the Bible to be righteous for the Salvation received in Christ’s never-ending Sacrifice for all of humanity. God demands obedience not sacrifice.

We are obedient by proclaiming the Word of God in our thoughts, actions and deeds and we look for ways to live in God’s Will to share the Salvation of Christ Jesus. I often have people ask me why I am so boisterous in the LORD. My reply is because God demands me to live according to His Word and confidently share His desire to love us no matter what we’ve ever experienced by our life living in free will. For too long I lived in my will and not the Will of God. You may ask even why I capitalize Will in using the phrase “Will of God.” I capitalize the “W” of will to emphasize His Truth we experience in living by faith, hope (charity) and love. You cannot hide the mercy or faithfulness from the world as you hid the sin you lived or sin you currently live by masking the Truth of any situation. God demands we are righteous in His Truth for the Salvation message to be heard and acted upon by all for the harmony of mankind. Do you live His Divine Gift?

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to never hide Your mercy or faithfulness from anyone we meet. Praying for the Team and Candidates of the Emmaus Retreat at St. Louis. We pray for Pam Bishop. We pray for LIFE FM. I pray for my wife, children, family, and friends. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners? Mark 2:16b

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-14-2012

Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners? Mark 2:16b

1 Samuel 9:1-4, 17-19; 10:1, Psalm 21 & Mark 2:13-17

The Pharisees often asked aloud why Jesus would associate with people of a devious nature who want nothing more than to take advantage of your hard-earned life of fiscal success. “Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners?” The reason is because God’s love for us will never allow Him to experience us in a different way in spite of what we may have done or believe we have done. It’s imperative we recognize this; God’s love for us will not change because of something we “believe we have done.”

Our amazing loving God never takes and only gives because He created the world as He Himself is by building humanity around the mirror image of Himself. “God created mankind in His image; in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27 His love for us will never change for He is the extension of Himself witnessed in the coming of His Son Christ Jesus to eliminate our fear of how we shed sin from our souls to remain unblemished in His Eyes of Conception.

When we lose our ego and eliminate our penetrable human covering, we experience what many Biblical Scholars describe as Agape Love, which comes from a Greek origin. This Agape Love encouraged Christ to eat with anyone, at anytime and anywhere. Jesus knew He had to live in His Father’s Will where giving constant un-judged love shared the purpose of giving than taking for giving is natural and never includes loss of any kind. True giving is like Creation in that you do not lose what you give, but you extend that thing and it grows larger as you give it, or share it. When we walk in His Word, we live in His complete unconditional faith, charity and love. Can you live your life in His agape love?

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to live in Your agape love for harmony of mankind. Praying for the Team and Candidates of the Emmaus Retreat at St. Louis. We pray for Pam Bishop. Give her family and friends peace. We pray for LIFE FM. I pray for my wife, children, family, and friends. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Many gathered together so that there was no longer room for them, not even around the door, and He preached the Word to them. Mark 4:2

Once you find that life has always meant to be in a complete communion with God, you’ll do anything to walk step-by-step with your Savior Christ Jesus. I can only imagine what people were willing to do to get a glimpse or ask Him a question when Jesus was Teaching and healing in town after town.

It doesn’t surprise me some friends helped their buddy get in front of Jesus to be healed by Him because they had the love of faith and friendship driving them to have him be restored to health by Christ in person. Jesus asked us to strengthen our faith and to repent from our sins to find Eternal Life in Heaven with the Father. It is this faith that we today are willing to do anything to help a friend find Christ’s healing in faith, hope and love.

I have such a friend with me today who has traveled 350 miles to attend his first “Walk to Emmaus” retreat weekend where I pray he finds the renewed hope in knowing Jesus can give him the rest from selfish acts of greed, lust and sin to accomplish living in faith, charity and love. I’ve been praying hard for my friend as well as the team and volunteers of this weekend’s retreat because I have faith in the Fathers Only Son to eliminate his fears, anxieties and concerns to live a life in loving his love of Christ Jesus. I am only His vessel of reassurance to live a life dedicated to Christ’s Truth. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to have faith in Christ’s ability to heal us and give us forgiveness from our sins. Praying for the Team and Candidates of this week’s Emmaus Retreat. We pray for Robert Maldonado as he prepares to lead the next NJ Emmaus. We pray for safe travels for the group of men driving from South Carolina today to attend the Emmaus. We pray for LIFE FM. I pray for my wife, children, family, and friends. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

I have Authority to Forgive Sins by the Father Above- Mark 2:1-12

Jesus was at home to rest and to pray

It become known where He was each day

Many gathered for His Teachings to say

Repent and believe the Good News to play

To participate in a life filled with everlasting faith

As the strength of friendship surely did state

By the friends who carried his limp body to pray

With Jesus and all to overcome his fate

Too many were crowded by the door to see

They lowered him through the roof to be

The example of true faith honored in He

Forgiving his sins and healing his infirmities

Jesus gave him absolution his sins were forgiven

Rise and walk was His command to be driven

The Scribes thought He was blaspheme living

Jesus knew their thoughts to be truly smitten

He gave them a dose of God’s Eternal Love

Rise and walk He told the man to shove

Out the door walking and praising God beloved

I have Authority to Forgive Sins by the Father Above
