He has shown might with His arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart. Luke 1:51

Wig’s Word of God Today 8-15-2011

He has shown might with His arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart. Luke 1:51

Revelation 11:19a; 12:1-6a, 10ab, Psalm 45, 1 Corinthians 15:20-27 & Luke 1:39-56

I am willing to admit what controls and dominates my life by my faith, charity and love. When we yield to something we soon realize the absolute control it has over our lives. For some of you it may cigarettes or booze. For some of you it may be sex or drugs. Maybe some of you fall into temptation by a routine you live yet are unwilling to change that routine. When the Virgin Mary accepted the Call of God’s Angel, she accepted it with complete submission to His Will. “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” Luke 1:46-47

We too can feel this Mighty Arm of Salvation by our complete submission to God’s Will. We can allow His love to dominate our lives by our faith in His Word through study each and very day. We can change what we yield to by our prayer to overcome the routine we yield to. Do we yield to temptation on business trips? Do we yield to temptation in denial of studying His Word? When we are alone, do we feel the desire to sin? God’s ability to heal us comes from our willingness to submit to His Truth in practice, prayer and proclamation. Without action in deed we cannot overcome the slavery we feel for the sin we conduct. Only by prayer in studying His Word will you find the peace in action He promises to all Humanity.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today we proclaim the greatness of Your Truth in all we do. We pray for peace and healing of Alexandra, Alysse and Julian. We pray for the needs of sick and dying. We pray for peace. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples. Isaiah 56:7c

Wig’s Word of God Today 8-14-2011

For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.  Isaiah 56:7c

For God delivered all to disobedience, that He might have mercy upon all. Romans 11:32

Lord, help me. Matthew 15:25c

Isaiah 56:1, 6-7, Psalm 67, Romans 11:13-15, 29-32 & Matthew 15:21-28

There is a continual Living Source that sits in your home somewhere. Can you tell me where it is? Do you carry it around with you? Do you find peace when you read it? A settled sort of calm that overrides all feelings and allows you to be the life God intends for you. The Bible is a Living Tool of Life’s Directions every one in Humanity can rely on. The Bible sustains surrender to His Will because it is His Word that Fuels Mankind. Fuels our love of His Glory. Amen. Fuels our love for Christ’s Truth to live and abide by. His Word is the direction of all churches where Christ is the Center and The Word is our life.

Isaiah 56: 1-2 reminds us today “to love the Name of the LORD” For “thus says the LORD: Observe what is right, do what is just, for My Salvation is about to come, my justice, about to be revealed. Happy is the one who does this, whoever holds fast to it.” Isaiah continues to show God is a Universal God of all people Who wants His House to be our home. “For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”  Isaiah 56:7c I think it’s a good idea to visit other churches in your community to worship with your Brothers and Sisters in Christ you live and work with every day you may never have had the chance to know or embrace unless you take action is visiting and worshipping with them.

I think too many times Humanity separates themselves from others unintentionally and when we live the Word of God we must act on the Word of God and get to know other people who love Jesus as much as you do. My wife noticed there was a “free” Gospel Concert sign posted at Goulds Church of Christ a week or so ago and asked, “want to go hear some Gospel music?” I said yes and we took her 21-year-old son with us yesterday. As we pulled up at 6 P.M. last night, we could have easily driven away to keep dry during a mighty thunderstorm but not us, we got inside a little wet but thankful we had made it. I was touched by the kind welcome we received with offer of paper towels to dry off and warm handshakes. I thought for sure I’d know someone and as it turned out the father/son duo of Joseph and Gabriel from my school came in a sat next to us. The Brothers Gospel Group soon followed after some insightful prayer and hymns from the congregation. The gospel singers were amazing and my wife and I enjoyed reaching out to hear the love of Christ in the strong voices of God’s Children.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today Father God for the Goulds Church of Christ. May their love of Your Truth guide them to bring many souls to Your Son’s Salvation. We pray today for peace and healing of Alexandra, all teachers and parents. We pray to always ask You Father for help when we need it and to live for Your Word to accomplish Your Will. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

The Work of God to Bring About Prayer

Isaiah was a mighty Prophet of old

He lived God’s Will proclaiming what He told

He revealed God’s Salvation and His Might

Guiding us to observe what is right

He encouraged foreigners to know His Truth

Love the Name of the LORD to serve as proof

Say not profanity on any day to prove

God’s Covenant may grip His Work to do

The Work of God to bring about prayer

On His Holy mountain lifting in the air

My House is Your House to pray and to sing

Christ’s Redemption a Gospel tune to ring

As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15c

Wig’s Word of God Today 8-13-2011

As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15c

Let the children come to Me, and do not prevent them. Matthew 19:14a

Joshua 24:14-29, Psalm 16 & Matthew 19:13-15

I carry a wallet I bought at the Holy Land Experience that reads “As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15c If you could see my home, I like to think people would agree with this statement. My wife and I have placed several tile pieces with different inscriptions of the LORD’s Word around our home to remind us to live every circumstance in His Word. The one I like the most is green hanging from an old wire off a pewter mug with white lettering that reads, “Believe-When a believing person prays, great things happen.” It reminds me of James 5:16, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.” We must constantly confess our sins and turn to the Bible often if we truly want to eliminate wrongdoing in our life. Change your routine. Change your pattern. Change your life. Carry His Word.

Teach the children in allowing the children to become closer to God’s Word by your desire to share God’s Truth with them every day. Don’t let God be a “Sunday thing” around your home. Fill your home with His Word in plaques, paintings and Bibles (obviously) to encourage your children to come to Jesus with ease and encouragement. All children have this natural inclination to embrace a parents teaching by God’s mighty grace and we should all be diligent in encouraging a child to seek “God’s Roadmap for Life.” When we ourselves become like children to learn the Word, God is brought into harmony with your real desires where sin ceases and His Will comes out in song for His Glory. When children see you happy in The LORD’s love, they will desire to come to Him with joy in their hearts. They will Trust God because you Trust God. They will read His Word because you read His Word. God makes it so simple-don’t be so tough on yourselves. Live in faith, charity and love. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray our homes always serve You LORD. We pray our children seek You LORD. We pray special intentions for Tim, Thomas, Tom and others involved in seeking solutions for America’s debt. We pray for healing and peace of Kelly, Alexandra and Jeff. We pray for the world’s peace and healing too LORD. We pray this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

God Bless His Truth for America,

Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Matthew 19:6a

Wig’s Word of God Today 8-12-2011

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Matthew 19:6a

Joshua 24:1-13, Psalm 136 & Matthew 19:3-12

I think the Pharisees thought Jesus would agree with them about Moses’ decision to give a bill of divorce but we learn God truly didn’t want man to become savage beasts and pursue one after another to satisfy animalistic desires. “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?” Matthew 19:4-5 Jesus stated only if the wedding is not lawful may you divorce and we find today people who seek the LORD completely also seek to have their marriage nullified by the Church to accomplish serving the LORD in Truth as Jesus states here in Matthew.

Our society has chosen to step on marriage as a mistake instead of looking at it as being One with God in all things. In my case, everyone can plainly see my wife and I have chosen to join names to show our desire to be One in the LORD in all things as Soul-Mates in Christ Jesus.  The decision seemed easy for us to undertake because we both wanted abide by God’s Word and join together as One Flesh for the Glory of God Almighty. The Word of God is our guide in all aspects of life and it is no different when it comes to marriage. Seeking the Truth in Word allows you a complete communion with God and this Oneness of Marriage secures your wholeness of being One Flesh for God’s Purpose.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today for the bond of marriage to be modeled after Your Word to accomplish Truth in communion with Your Glory. We pray today for teachers returning to work today. We pray today for peace and healing of Kelly, Alexandra, Greg I. and everyone else we pray for. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives his brother from his heart. Matthew 18:35

Wig’s Word of God Today 8-11-2011

So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives his brother from his heart. Matthew 18:35

Joshua 3:7-10a, 11, 13-17, Psalm 114 & Matthew 18:21 –35

There has been many a scientist who has tried to explain the events of the Bible scientifically instead of truly believing the Word of God because they lack His Truth in their heart.  The Crossing of the Jordan by Joshua leading the Israelites is one of such occurrences just as Moses crossed the Red Sea with God’s Power and Will. The Will of God is a powerful destiny that nobody can alter and by your study of His Word your life will represent the Will of God in everything you do by your repentance and commitment to living for His Love.

You will be placed into situations for the LORD’s use by this Walk of Truth you seek to accomplish each day. Just as Moses and Joshua, you too have a Walk of Truth to share with God’s Children around you by your action in faith, charity and love. This Walk has to be done in complete forgiveness from the heart of any person or situations in your life just as our Heavenly Father will do by our repentance and belief in His Son Christ Jesus. The LORD explains to Peter, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times” must you forgive anyone or any situation. I heard a brother pray for burglars who attempted to rob his house in open prayer requests in a meeting I was in the other night. An example of forgiveness we should all display in our Walk of Truth daily.

Even in death of a loved one, forgiveness must take place for God’s Will to be lived and instilled in the people of your life. I recently felt this strongly when I spent some time with a veteran’s widow. I have shared with many of you that I serve as the Adjutant/Treasurer of Disable American Veteran Group Chapter 12 of Coral Gables where I am the point man of contact for anyone requesting information or asking for assistance in some sort. Recently, a widow of a Veteran who just passed asked if I would come and pick up his personal items to share with the less fortunate. When I arrived with my 12-year-old son Jeff at their home of 50 years (they were married 64 years), she greeted me at the door inviting me in and sitting with me and Jeff for a good thirty minutes.

As she reminisced about her life with her soul mate, she shared he was a prayerful person who always prayed for our country and the young ones he taught as a high school history teacher for 33 years. As we talked, I realized there was 8-foot Christmas tree in the corner with blinking lights. So I asked her, “Did you guys always leave the tree up?” “Oh yes,” she responded. “It was about 23 years ago we felt we’d leave it up because we didn’t want the Christmas feeling of family and love to end.”  I asked her if we could pray together before we left holding out my hands to grasp her and my sons. We stood and held hands of past, present and future generations where true forgiveness stood its ground making the tears of Truth to roll off our cheeks. Without forgiveness, His Truth won’t   instill prayer but rebellion. Without forgiveness, His Truth won’t instill love just hate. Without forgiveness, your life will never relate.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today we can always forgive as You Father forgives by our love of Your Son’s Truth. We pray for peace and healing of Kelly (Yay, he’s doing Ok), Alexandra (final 9-hour med school test complete), Jayson (strength returning and back to work Friday) and many others who each of us pray for everyday. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless His Truth for America,

Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

Romans 8:28

Your Heavenly Father Does Depend

How to forgive sin my LORD?

Must I forgive often or spat?

Seeing the hate I yearn

Living the love I hack

Can it be seven times?

Can it be less?

Can it be settled?

Can it be confessed?

Not seven will ever be enough

Not even ten will ever begin

But seventy seven times infinity

Must you spat from the depths of sin

In the Joyful Kingdom of Heaven

Where the Truth of forgiveness wins

Life is charged with this reality

Your Heavenly Father Does Depend

The Father will honor whoever serves Me. John 12:26d

Wig’s Word of God Today 8-10-2011

Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

The Father will honor whoever serves Me. John 12:26d

2 Corinthians 9:6-10, Psalm 112 & John 12:24-26

When you find pleasure giving to the LORD’s work of feeding the homeless, clothing the naked or providing money to the poor, you serve the greater good of Humanity and find honor with God Almighty. What’s so beautiful about giving is the everlasting feeling you get of helping those less fortunate than you providing favor for you with Christ Who Himself was the Redeemer of all. Paul reminds the Corinthians that God loves a cheerful giver providing a wealth of joy locked in the hearts of those less fortunate than you.

Feed a smile by warming the soul of someone needing a coat in the cold. Feed a smile by giving someone thirsty something to drink. Feed a smile by giving food to someone who’s hungry. Feed a smile by giving companionship to someone who is lonely. Jesus tells His Disciples “Whoever loves his life loses it and whoever hates his life in this world will preserve it for Eternal Life.” John 12:25 Jesus is telling us to give until it hurts but know it hurts with such raw joy one will hate his life of the world craving the Eternal Life with  God in Heaven.

Remind yourself daily that giving is not just to people who are homeless, jobless or lonely but include the man mowing his yard or working on his car in the heat. Take notice and make a cool refreshing glass of ice water and take it to them with a smile saying, “I notice how hot you must be and I wanted to give you a cooling off with some ice water.” Just as importantly, take notice to people around you who are overwhelmed with life; i.e. the single mother who would enjoy a meal prepared for her kids giving her a deserved break from cooking. Even if it’s just once in a blue moon, people who enjoy these spurts of giving by anyone will see the love of Christ in your eye.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today we are always cheerful givers who seek to share Your Truth in the gesture of giving. We pray today for peace and healing of Kelly (how are you?), a friend’s son named Gabriel, Alexandra, Allen, Jeff, Julian, Gabriel and all those seeking prayers. We pray a prayer of thanksgiving for Jhaysonn in Gainesville for his healing LORD for we know You alone have touched his immune system to make it strong. We pray all of this in the Name of Christ Jesus our LORD and Savior. Amen.

God Bless His Truth for America,

Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 18:4

Wig’s Word of God Today 8-9-2011

It is the LORD who marches before you; He will be with you and will never fail you or forsake you. So do not fear or be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8

Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 18:4

Deuteronomy 31:1-8, Psalm 32 & Matthew 18:1-14

By now Moses has reached the age of 120 years and is informed by the LORD that he “soon you will be at rest with your fathers.” The LORD tells Moses to summons the people and instruct them to follow Joshua across the Jordan to seize the land of their inheritance taking on courage from the LORD Who marches with them. He reminds them the LORD “will be with you and will never fail you or forsake you. So do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

Taking courage to face life seems very tough sometimes for every type of evil lurks to garnish your soul with selfish needs but our LORD will never forsake you in any time of trouble and guide us if we’d only read and act on His Truth in Word. The next time you find yourself in trouble by something open your Bible at random and read what the LORD wants you to do. Can you turn the other cheek? Can you give to the less fortunate? Can remain calm in the midst of the storm? Can you trust in the LORD as a child trusts his parents?

Jesus instructs His Disciples to model themselves after a child’s innocence because they act out of complete dependence on their parents and so must they in respect to God. “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven” Matthew 18:3 This humble servitude gives you great courage and power to confront any type of situation. When people see the humble passion you display for serving the LORD they see calm confidence to accomplish the most difficult task. They see trust and honor in the face of serving His Truth.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today to become like children to follow Your every Word with faith, charity and love. We pray today for the continued healing and peace of Kelly, Alexandra, Gabby, Jeffrey and all who search for Your Protection. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen.

God Bless His Truth for America,

Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

To love and serve the LORD, your God, with all your heart and all your soul. Deuteronomy 10:12e

Wig’s Word of God Today 8-8-2011

To love and serve the LORD, your God, with all your heart and all your soul. Deuteronomy 10:12e

Deuteronomy 10:12-22, Psalm 147 & Matthew 17:22-27

It’s hard to imagine why people are so selfish to forget God and His Commandments when every little detail around you represents His Dominion and His Creation. Moses stood before the people and exclaimed, “Think! The heavens, even the highest heavens, belong to the LORD, your God, as well as the earth and everything on it.” Deuteronomy 10:14 Yet many still disobey the obvious by not trusting in the LORD with everything in your life. We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth of all that is seen and unseen to guide us and obey His Truth.

He is everywhere and everything. He knows your thoughts and is able to count the every single hair on your body. In my case that’s an awful lot of hair. He’s a God Who laughs and cries and has filled the earth with every pleasure imaginable. When you are in communion with Him, your life is filled with great awe for every little detail and His protection surrounds you by your faithful obedience to His Truth. When you are sinful He sees every move. What’s so amazing about God is He’ll open His Arms of Mercy to welcome you home to His Care even after you deny Him or His Son.

When I work in the yard or clean the house, I like to wear headphones that play different types of Christian music. I’m not afraid to sing at the top of my lungs and as my wife put it, “off key.” But the LORD doesn’t care how you sound, what He cares about is that you love and serve Him with all your heart and all your soul. They’ll be times in my yard I’ll hear a song that says on my knees I worship You, and I’ll fall to my knees with my hands held high because His love captures every essence of my being to serve Him. Sing, dance or hold your hands high in the air and love and serve the LORD! Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today we always serve You with all of our hearts and souls to accomplish Your Will Father. We pray today for healing and peace of Kelly, Alexandra, Jason, Jeff and me LORD. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless His Truth for America,

It is not that the Word of God has failed. Romans 9:6a

Wig’s Word of God Today 8-7-2011

It is not that the Word of God has failed. Romans 9:6a

Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Matthew 14:27b

1 Kings 19:9a, 11-13a, Psalm 85, Romans 9:1-6 & Matthew 14:22-33

Paul reminds us today in Romans that God is the God of all people Who sent His only Son to die for the sins for all once and for all. Through His Mighty Word God has given us the peace we search for in life to accomplish living a life of faith, charity and love. The Word of God will never fail for it is the Truth of God’s love to guide us. The Word of God gives us hope. The Word of God gives us pleasure. The Word of God gives us the Way to be in communion with our LORD through all obstacles in our life allowing us true inner peace. Practice is studying God’s Word. Praying is trusting God’s Word. Proclaiming is sharing God’s Word. The Word of God will never fail even in the darkness of our greatest sin. The Word remains constant for all Eternity. Trust your life with it. Amen.

When we learn to live in Trust, we take chances to accomplish God’s Will. The Disciples witnessed Jesus walking on water in the midst of chaotic waves and wind yet Peter trusted Him so much he stepped out of the boat to go to Him. When Peter kept his eyes fixed on Christ, he walked on water in a complete trust but as soon as he took his eyes off Jesus he began to sink from the loss of faith.  Our lives are no different for when we trust Jesus with everything and keep our eyes fixed on His Truth, we can accomplish everything He sets in our way. I’ve heard it be said, “God never gives you more than you can handle.”  I say when we live for God in everything knowing we are forgiven by His Son’s death on the Cross, we live in Trust by keeping our thoughts, actions and deeds fixed on Christ’s Truth. Believe Jesus’ own words, Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today to always have courage by our Trust in Your Word. We pray today for special intentions of family needs. We pray for peace and courage to face the difficult times we live in. We pray these all in the Name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

God Bless His Truth for America,

Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

Romans 8:28

Faith is Trust the Words of His Mouth

Walking on water without a care

The Disciples looked up causing a scare

Trust in Him Peter did dare

Walking on water fixed in a stare

Peter began to notice the waves and wind

Taking his eyes off Christ to defend

His own fears of trust began to waiver and die

As he sank in the water letting out a cry

LORD, save me” he yelled out to touch

The fingers of Christ he failed to trust

O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Faith is trust the Words of His Mouth

Instead, let’s say we are encouraged today to pray and fast for our nation, the United States of America by the Governor of Texas Rick Perry. In his proclamation he wrote: “It seems imperative that the people of our nation should once again join together for a solemn day of prayer and fasting on behalf of our troubled nation. In times of trouble, even those who have been granted power by the people must turn to God in humility for wisdom, mercy and direction.

Many would like to lead you to believe the U.S.A. is no longer One Nation Under God but one nation under self. Our nation is in need of a transfiguration itself much like the one Jesus underwent on the mountain before two of His Disciples. A change of heart so to speak where Americans humble themselves before the LORD and seek less instead of more. Many of us pray in the morning to establish the Will of God for the entire day but I would implore all Americans to pray every moment of every day to establish forgiveness to our God praying His Grace will once again fall on our great land.

Just as Jesus touched Peter and John to soothe them after being frightened by His Father calling out from Heaven on the mountain, so will He touch us and calm our fears by bowing to His Truth in true humility, seeking less to accomplish more for His Glory and praying unceasingly for guidance, wisdom and love. Our leaders must turn to God in a humble servitude to accomplish His Will for each and every one of us. I believe the Morning Star will rise again in own hearts by the majority of America who believe without God America will fail but with God “all things are possible.” On my knees I humble myself before the LORD in prayer this very moment asking God for healing and Truth to be etched in our hearts for all ages. Will you join me today to pray on your knees for America? Will you fast with America to accomplish more in Truth? “Selah- stop and listen.”

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today for America and seek Your great wisdom to accomplish Your Will for Humanity. We pray the Morning Star will rise in our hearts to never be afraid of sharing Your Truth. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless His Truth for America,

We Are America

We pray today for Truth

We pray today for You

We pray today to see

We pray today for Thee

We humble ourselves to show

We humble ourselves to know

We humble ourselves to fight

We humble ourselves for right

We fast today to seek

We fast today to meet

We fast today for less

We fast today more to rest

We are America

We are scared

We are seeking

We are to care
