I came in the name of my Father, but you do not accept Me; yet if another comes in his own name, you will accept him

Wig’s Word of God Today 4-7-2011

I came in the name of my Father, but you do not accept Me; yet if another comes in his own name, you will accept him. John 5:43

Exodus 32:7-14, Psalm 106 & John 5:31-47

I am reminded today of the lack of faith the people of the world exhibit in such a short time when things begin to happen they think God should correct. Moses experienced it in the desert when he led the people out of the bondage in Egypt and soon began worshiping a golden calf. The LORD said to Moses, “They have soon turned aside from the way I pointed out to them, making for themselves a molten calf and worshiping it, sacrificing to it and crying out, ‘This is your God, O Israel, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.” Exodus 32:8 Moses asked the LORD to withhold His Wrath on the people and God gave Moses the 10 Commandments on a tablet to give to them but Moses became upset when he found them dancing and carrying on around the molten calf and threw down the tablets breaking them. Ultimately, the LORD had Moses remake the tablets and inscribed as the first commandment, “You shall not worship any other god, for the LORD is ‘the Jealous One’; a jealous God is He. and You shall not make for yourselves molten gods.” Exodus 34:14, 17

God’s Plan for Humanity was predestined to include forgiveness from sin by Him coming to the world in the flesh as Jesus Christ to Redeem mankind but even His amazing works of miracles and healings did not completely convince everyone even to this day. Time and time again the world’s followers of Jesus Christ have proven His Love overcomes all obstacles yet many still cry out to false gods worshipping everything from booze to money or false prophets of government leaders. Christ Himself proclaimed He has come in the Name of the Father yet many did not believe Him because they did not have the Word of God in them. “Moreover, the Father who sent Me has testified on My behalf. But you have never heard His voice nor seen His form, and you do not have His word remaining in you, because you do not believe in the One Whom He has sent.” John 5:37-38 As I have said before, I believe the Wrath of God is real and He will punish those who adamantly deny God’s Salvation by not accepting Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior. It is up to us as followers of His Truth to share the Good News with weak and strong alike. Love your love of Christ and share His Good News. Amen!

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today for all people who have not found the Truth to live by that we LORD may be Your eyes and feet to share the Good News Your Son gave us to have Eternal Life. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

He gave Him power to exercise judgment, because He is the Son of Man

Wig’s Word of God Today 4-6-2011

Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. Isaiah 49:15

And He gave Him power to exercise judgment, because He is the Son of Man.  John 5:27

Isaiah 49:8-15, Psalm 145 & John 5:17-30

Do you believe in destiny? Do you believe the LORD has predetermined your fate to accomplish His Will in everything you do? If you do, then you believe He will never forsake you but lift you and protect you from all harm as a mother would protect her own by the strength He has in every aspect of your life. In His time, the LORD “comforts His people and shows mercy to His afflicted” guiding us to come out of darkness and proclaim thanksgiving for the Glory of God the Father. Never be afraid God does not hear your prayer in your time for it is during these times the LORD needs you to be even more prayerful taking steps to fast often and complete works of charity to receive deep personal instruction. In giving to the less fortunate, the LORD will give you guidance to accomplish His Will in every aspect of your life. Are you ready and willing to follow His Will to accomplish His Glory no matter the cost or sacrifice?

Jesus tells us He has come in the Name of the Father to accomplish His Will to restore life to the afflicted and guide humanity to eternal life. I have learned to place myself there in Jesus time and listen to the Pharisees complain about His Work on the Sabbath to complete my understanding of their need to kill Him and fulfill without knowledge the destiny of God’s Plan for Humanity. Jesus was given authority to exercise His Judgment because He is the Son of Man and for all who listen to His words and act upon them will have Eternal Life. “Nor does the Father judge anyone, but he has given all judgment to his Son, so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes in the One Who sent Me has eternal life and will not come to condemnation, but has passed from death to life.” John 5: 22-24 BY loving your love of Christ you have passed from death to life and will proclaim the Glory of God through practice (reading you Bible daily), your unceasing prayer and your proclamation of His written Truth. Amen!

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today we always have the strength to accomplish Your Will Father by repenting of sinful acts of disrespect and to seek Your Divine Instruction by our faith, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Be still and confess that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth

Wig’s Word of God Today 4-5-2011

God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress. Who says: “Be still and confess that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.” Psalm 46:2, 11

Ezekiel 47:1-9, 12, Psalm 46 & John 5:1-16

The father of Judaism many a scholar has said was the Prophet Ezekiel who described the wonders of the LORD’s majestic abilities in creating a New Jerusalem that would provide every kind of food allowing the humanity to experience a New Covenant brought to us ultimately by the birth, life and death of Christ Jesus. He points out in his prophesy that God is in control of everything and His wondrous deeds are motivated by the zeal of His Holy Name while reminding us the new heart of man is the work of God and not the work of humans.

Psalm 46 has special meanings for those of us who have surrendered to a life of Christ for the Glory of God the Father in these times when the world seems to be experiencing natural acts of disaster worldwide with earthquakes and tsunamis shaking the earth and washing it clean. The Psalmist details this by writing, “Though nations rage and kingdoms totter, God’s voice thunders and the earth trembles. The LORD of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob.” Psalm 46:7-8 Just as Jesus experienced persecution from evil men, we too will experience all kinds of persecutions from those who believe there isn’t a God in control of all yet we hold fast to our love of loving the One and True God of life no matte what is happening to the world around us. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today for guidance when the earth trembles and the seas rage to always place our trust in You LORD and to be steadfast in prayer for all humanity. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

You may go; your son will live. The man believed what Jesus said to him and left

Wig’s Word of God Today 4-4-2011

Jesus said to him, “You may go; your son will live.” The man believed what Jesus said to him and left. John 4:50

Isaiah 65:17-21, Psalm 30 & John 4:43-54

We all enjoy a gift given to us freely by our confession of sinful ways providing all the chance to repent and confess with our mouths Jesus is the Son of the Living God. When we become in touch with the Living God He will teach us to follow His Way of faith, charity and love. Isaiah shares with us the Truth of a Savior who brings hope to our lives to accomplish His Will in Truth and in Deed. You can become in touch with His grace through daily reading of your Bible, prayer and proclamation. Choose a time every day and sit with the LORD to listen to His directions. Keep a writing tablet near by to pen any thoughts that come to mind. Listen in silence and pray the Our Father and He will teach you. The LORD may not teach you in your time but He will teach you in His time.

By sitting in silence you can learn to discover what God has in store for you. The Royal Official who sought Jesus out to heal his dying son learned to believe by his faith knowing Jesus would heal his son from afar. On the way home his slaves met him and told him his son was recovering and had taken a turn for the better at the same time Jesus said, “You may go; your son will live.” A healing occurred from a distance by his faith and your healing can occur too by your faith in the One and Only Son of God Who can eliminate any illness or trouble by our trust in His Truth. Take the time each day to get in touch with Jesus through practice, prayer and proclaiming and your love of loving the Son will guide you to become even closer to His Truth and thus live His Will completely. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today to believe always Your Son will guide us to live in Truth by our faith and our works. May we be a people who loves living to accomplish Your Will for Your Glory. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

For you were once darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord

Wig’s Word of God Today 4-3-2011

For you were once darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord. Live as children of Light, for Light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and Truth. Ephesians 5:8-9

While I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if one is devout and does His will, He listens to him. John 9:31

 1 Samuel 16:1b, 6-7, 10-13a, Psalm 23, Ephesians 5:8-14 & John 9:1-41 or 9:1, 6-9, 13-17, 34-38

There comes a time in everyone’s life that we become anointed with the LORD’s Truth and are willing and ready to accept His call to become a disciple of His Son Christ Jesus. When David was anointed with oil by Samuel, his life was transformed to become the LORD’s servant and nothing would stand in his way in serving the LORD. “Then Samuel, with the horn of oil in hand, anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and from that day on, the spirit of the LORD rushed upon David.” 1 Samuel  16:13 The biggest challenge of his life would soon change him forever as he became so confidant in the LORD he went up against the biggest and meanest Philistine named Goliath with only a stone and a sling embedding the stone in his brow and cutting his head off with Goliath’s own sword. When you come up against a challenge in your life, take steps to be prepared by your practice, prayer and proclamation and the LORD will guide you to success even if you fail.

I know what many of you may be thinking: “How can we succeed if we fail?” Because the LORD’s Truth in His Son will guide you to become filled with the LIGHT of Christ where everything will become visible and failures will seem only as important as the emphasis you place on the failure in your life. Once I became jobless, carless and homeless living on the streets in Gainesville filled with spite, hatred and sin but it was through this experience that I have become His Anointed to accomplish His Will and accepting all as God’s Divine Plan for me. I was lost but now I am found in His Light of Truth guided by His Son’s amazing Love. Paul reminds us to “try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them, for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret; but everything exposed by the Light becomes visible, for everything that becomes visible is Light. Therefore, it says: ‘Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.’” Ephesians 5:10-14

Christ will open the eyes of anyone who takes the steps to become one with His Truth by reading His Word, praying unceasingly over everything and living to proclaim the Truth to people you know and people you don’t know. There becomes a confidence much like that of David when we accept His Light and open our eyes to Glorifying the LORD in all things. When did Christ open your eyes and allow you to see all you do as His Will? Was it in a church service or on the streets living homeless and misguided? What have you done about it since your eyes were open? Do you seek to live acts of charity? Can you be a mentor to a child in your neighborhood? I often ask kids to help me with yard work to share the LORD’s truth with them.

Yesterday, I asked a neighborhood boy to help me mow a lawn. Before we started I told how important it was to give thanks to the LORD for everything and we prayed before we started work. As I do when I do lawn work, I listen to worship music and standing the middle of the yard I was taken by the Spirit to lifting my hands and praising Him at the top of my lungs. Unknown to me, my neighborhood helper was watching me from behind. He approached and tapped me on my shoulder and asked, “what are you listening to?” I replied, “Every Breath I Take” by Gateway Worship. The LORD has opened my eyes to live in a surrender to loving my love of Christ to Glorify the LORD in all things. Amen.” Looking directly at him I began singing, “From the depths of my soul, LORD I want You to know that this life that I live is for You. Every breath LORD, all that I am, I want my life to bring You glory. Every moment, with all that I have. I want my life to give You gloryyyyyyyyyy. LORD You’re so amazing to me. Forever, I surrender. Forever, I surrender.”

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today for the Emmaus Team in Chicago. We pray we always seek the Light of Truth given to us by Your Son. May He open our eyes and restore our sight to see by our faith, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

For it is love that I desire, not sacrifice, and knowledge of God rather than holocausts

Wig’s Word of God Today 4-2-2011

Poem: His Redemption Never Faulted

For it is love that I desire, not sacrifice, and knowledge of God rather than holocausts. Hosea 6:6

But the tax collector stood off at a distance and would not even raise his eyes to heaven but beat his breast and prayed, ‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’  Luke 18:13

Hosea 6:1-6, Psalm 51 & Luke 18:9-14

There is so much confusion and hatred in a world created by God to bring an eternity of joy and love. Hosea reminds us today we can return to the LORD and receive His compassion of forgiveness but we must do it on our own remaining in the confidence and surrender to a Life of Christ for the Will of God. Preordained and living the Will of God was something I heard a Holy Man say a lot in a Russian movie we watched last night called The Island. Each of us has a preordained life to lead in living the Will of God.

There will be a time when the Wrath of God will come upon those who live a life of denial of the LORD’s Truth in living for themselves seeking only selfish desires of the flesh lacking a true commitment to faith, charity and love. But it is only love God desires accomplishing acts of mercy through living His Word obtaining your calling and by living His Truth we will all remain confident His Wrath will wash over us like mist on an early morning walk keeping us frightened of His Power remaining committed to living in obedience to His Will. We will see His Wrath destroy the ungrateful and restore us in His Kingdom of Love.

I eagerly await each morning when I can sit alone with God reading His Word listening to His Holy Spirit move my fingers as my heart and soul seeks to write His Truth. The beating of the keys on the keyboard ring in my ear as I think about how a man’s movie about God’s faith, love and redemption gives humanity His Salvation. Today Jesus tells us how sinners are welcomed into the Kingdom of God by their earnest repentance through a “parable to those who were convinced of their own righteousness and despised everyone else.” Luke 18:9 We must look upon the world with obedience to is Word recognizing we are sinners in a humanity full of His compassion and love.

A friend once sent me a text which said, “LORD Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner,” I have thought a lot about lately. I watched man admit this in this movie and how this Holy Man’s guilt of killing someone else to save his own life preordained him to live as a Monk filled with wisdom, satire and repentance. He often would repeat to himself he was unworthy of his abilities for in his heart and soul he was lowly killer who slept on coal and dirt never accepting the comforts of life we take for granted everyday of our lives. There will always be people around you who will judge you in silence yet it is God Who wants you to admit in public you are just a lowly sinner who has earned Redemption by your admission of living in sin and an earnest desire to repent. By loving our love of Christ we are all called to be a people who are sorry for their sins desiring to live a life of repentance. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear LORD, today we pray we have the courage as a people to admit our sins and live a life of repentance. We pray for Jose Forquet as he leads an Emmaus Team in Chicago. May Your Truth guide us all to live for Your Glory LORD. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Beat on your chest and say
LORD have mercy on me a sinner
Humble forgiveness forever exalted

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength

Wig’s Word of God Today 4-1-2011

Let him who is wise understand these things; let him who is prudent know them. Straight are the paths of the LORD, in them the just walk, but sinners stumble in them. Hosea 14:10

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

Hosea 14:2-10, Psalm 81 & Mark 12:28-34

I have witnessed many a sinner stumble in the LORD’s Truth by their selfish acts of sin garnishing loss jobs, sickness and death. By your understanding of living for the Truth of God, you will garnish grace and witness a transformation of your life by this complete surrender to God’s Will. A marriage so to speak as the Prophet Hosea expressed in his writings to those who believe by not worshiping false idols. God constantly reminds us that He will open His Arms of Mercy and forgiveness to those who stray from the path of righteousness by an earnest desire to repent and follow the straight paths of the LORD’s decrees. “I will heal their defection, I will love them freely; for My wrath is turned away from them.” Hosea 14:5

Jesus is asked by one of the scribes, “Which is the first of all the commandments?” The LORD knew he was a devout man full of the Spirit as He replied, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 How many of us fail to live this in choosing to seek false satisfaction in lust, sex or money instead of turning to the LORD with all your heart, mind and soul? How many of us fail to reach out to a neighbor in need? How can we know what our neighbor needs unless we reach out and share Christ’s Truth with them by our actions of faith, charity and love? Seek to share your love of loving Christ Jesus by giving your all to living these first two commandments. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, today we pray for people to reach out and touch their neighbors with the kindness You LORD instill in our hearts, minds and souls. May we be an example of Your Son’s Truth to accomplish acts of mercy, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

His Hand Would Bear the Commitment Scar

A scribe asked Jesus this question
What is the greatest commandment to live?
Jesus said to love the Father above all
Using a complete surrender of peace to give

Going further knowing his heart and mind
Jesus gave us the desire to share
Love and affection with every neighbor
As we love our self with no room to spare

Your understanding is complete
My Father’s Kingdom is not far
From your heart knowing His Truth
His hand would bear the commitment scar

Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-31-2011

Say to them: This is the nation which does not listen to the voice of the LORD, its God, or take correction. Faithfulness has disappeared; the word itself is banished from their speech. Jeremiah 7:28

Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD; cry out to the rock of our salvation. Psalm 95:1

Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters. Luke 11:23

Jeremiah 7:23-28, Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9 & Luke 11:14-23

Many of us awake each day and wonder if the LORD will place His wrath in our midst because of the selfish acts of sin we see occurring everywhere in our country as well as the world. Jeremiah warned his countrymen of the impending doom of worshipping false idols and his message has a profound impact on our everyday life today. Most would agree that “this is the nation which does not listen to the voice of the LORD, its God, or take correction. Faithfulness has disappeared; the Word itself is banished from their speech.” Jeremiah 7:28 It seems at times the false idols of today’s world are as numerous as the stars in the sky by the way mankind has placed its faith in turning to selfish acts of sin. The United States of America is no different and we as Christians must remain steadfast in our commitment to practice, pray and preach the Truth to the world. Amen.

Jesus had just taught the Disciples the LORD’s prayer and was teaching them to “ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Luke 11:9-10 Jesus then warns them by discerning their hearts when seeking a sign from Him from heaven saying, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house. And if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that it is by Beelzebul that I drive out demons. But if it is by the finger of God that (I) drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Luke 11:17-18,20

The Kingdom of God had come upon them and many still did not believe. Instead they ended up nailing our LORD to a Cross to overcome the fear they had not realizing it was by His own choice that He was Crucified for the sins of the world. As a people we need to seek refuge in the LORD for all aspects of our lives and our country. We do this by seeking others in the LORD such as I did last night where I attended a new monthly event called “Refuge” where people of faith come together to pray, witness and sing psalms of thanksgiving to our God. I met people of all walks of life who want nothing more than to gather with friends to praise and sing to the LORD and seek refuge in His Truth. I was encouraged to see all ages there last night and I prayed with a man who helped me find peace in a personal family situation regarding my daughter. If anyone is interested in attending this monthly meeting with us next month, please let me know. In loving our love of Christ we must seek refuge in the LORD by gathering together often living the Word of God in all things. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: My LORD and my God, today I pray for Andy D. who is seeking employment LORD to care for his wife and baby. I pray for all the people who attended Refuge last night that we may live the Will of You Father in all things. We ask this in Jesus Name. Amen.

whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-30-2011

Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:19

Deuteronomy 4:1, 5-9, Psalm 147:12-13, 15-16, 19-20 & Matthew 5:17-19

Do you believe the message of God is a apart of you? God wants us to be more than just His believers, He wants us all to walk, talk and live the message of His Son’s Truth in everything we do. The Son of God was sent by the Father so that we may have Eternal Life because of Him and we must feed on and teach His Truth to have Eternal Life in heaven. “Just as the living Father sent Me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on Me will have life because of me.” John 6:57

The teaching of God’s Commandments and living the Truth set forth by the Son of God should be shared by all believers to anyone and everyone you encounter. There should be nothing you do that does not represent or give testimony to the Living God within you. Obviously, we should be teaching our children to walk with the LORD but He expects us to be a people who praise and worship Him through our everyday life and encounters with people by teaching and proclaiming the Living Word of God to anyone, anytime and anyplace. By loving your love of Christ you are not ashamed of walking the walk and talking the talk of Christ Jesus. Amen.

So we ask in prayer: Dear God, we pray today to always obey Your Word and teach the Truth to everyone we encounter. May we represent and live Your Will in every encounter we accomplish for Your Glory. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times? Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times

Wig’s Word of God Today 3-29-2011

They walked about in the flames, singing to God and blessing the Lord. Daniel 3:24

Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times? Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. Matthew 18: 21b-22

Daniel 3:25, 34-43, Psalm 25:4-5ab, 6 and 7bc, 8-9 & Matthew 18:21-35

As a nation, King Nebuchadnezzar ordered all to fall down and worship the golden statue when the sound of the trumpet, flute, lyre, harp, psaltery, bagpipe, and all the other musical instruments played. Clinging steadfast to the LORD of LORD’s, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego chose not to comply and the people said, “There are certain Jews whom you have made administrators of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego; these men, O king, have paid no attention to you; they will not serve your god or worship the golden statue which you set up.” Daniel 3:12 The king became furious and ordered the furnace to be heated seven times its normal temperature thinking there will be no way they will survive but the king learned our LORD will rescue the faithful at heart and the three walked about the flames “singing to God and blessing the Lord.”

Here we witness a true surrender to the LORD’s Truth in all things. These three men believed with all their heart the LORD would save them. But their trust in the LORD went even further for they were willing to be burned up instead of worshipping a false God. So strong is one’s surrender to God we should even forgive those who sin against us seventy-seven times as Jesus would teach His disciples here in Matthew. The beautiful thing about the LORD Jesus Christ is His love and compassion for humanity and His ability to forgive even the people who nailed Him to His Cross. Yes, His Cross, for it was He Who surrendered to us by His coming to the world and giving Himself totally for the forgiveness of sins. He gave Himself freely without reservation to prove how much He loved us. In your love of loving Christ, we must give ourselves totally without leaving one doubt to freely live in a surrender no matter the consequences or circumstances because our life will be totally consumed by Him. Forgive as we have been forgiven. Amen. 4:44 AM EST

So we ask in prayer: My LORD and My God, we pray today for wisdom and strength to forgive as many times as is necessary to live in a complete surrender to Your Truth. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Your Father Will Allow You a Deeper Love to Know

No idol statue would they worship
They chose to walk in a hot furnace
Dancing and singing praising the LORD
A dramatic rescue God did furnish

Peter asked how many times he should forgive
A brother who sins against his holy will
Seven times seemed the number to live
Seven times seventy-seven was Christ’s lid

Settle your accounts with compassion in your soul
Take not what forgiveness and honor will sow
Your Father will allow you a deeper love to know
In your heart His forgiveness rightfully must show
