You need endurance to do the Will of God and receive what He has promised

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-28-2011

You need endurance to do the Will of God and receive what He has promised. Hebrews 10:36

Hebrews 10:32-39, Psalm 37:3-4, 5-6, 23-24, 39-40 & Mark 4:26-34

There are so many temptations in this world one needs endurance to accomplish the Will of God. There is something to be said to the one who becomes steadfast in the LORD’s decrees accomplishing the Will of God to establish lasting faith, hope and love. What are we doing to bring Redemption to those who have lost their endurance in living a life of Christ? I believe it is more important to talk about what we can do to strengthen our endurance than list what we are up against each and every day. As a servant of the LORD Jesus Christ, we are charged with providing every opportunity in our walk to share the Gospel with friends and neighbors, co-workers and strangers alike. When your level of spirituality and honor become real, you will accomplish everything you do in His Name and live only to serve His purpose.

The Parable of the Seeds Growth only comes in the Book of Mark. The Word of God made flesh comes to us describing the Kingdom of God with descriptions of a seed growing into a plant without any human help and thus describes the growth of God within us all by allowing His Truth to envelope our being by practice, prayer and proclamation. When God calls you home, you will be like the seed that was nurtured by the Spirit of God to receive the Promise of Christ Himself of Everlasting Life. As a person who lives the Will of God, loving your love of Christ will bring you to full maturity in the Glory of The LORD to receive all He has Promised.

In prayer we ask: My LORD and My God, today we pray for everlasting endurance to accomplish Your Will and receive the Promise of Everlasting Life. We ask this through Christ our LORD Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

God Bless,
Thomas Joe cruz-Wiggins

For there is nothing hidden except to be made visible; nothing is secret except to come to light

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-27-2011

For there is nothing hidden except to be made visible; nothing is secret except to come to light. Mark 4:22

Hebrews 10:19-25, Psalm 24:1-2, 3-4ab, 5-6 & Mark 4:21-25

A Promise made trustworthy by the Blood of Jesus has secured for humanity the forgiveness of sins. Our boldness to enter the Kingdom of Heaven comes from Christ Who experienced the most painful death imaginable and secured the right for all mankind to be forgiven and accept redemption from His Blood on a Cross. I believe many become stubborn in completing their surrender to God’s Divine Plan for the their life and thus live selfishly until something tragic happens and then they call on God to fix it.

We lack the understanding of God’s request to give faith, hope and charity yet expect Him to lift us out of darkness and despair. Jesus tells us there is “nothing hidden except to be made visible; nothing is secret except to come to light.”  What is hidden in your world? Are you living life to accomplish the Will of God? Or are you waiting until something bad happens to ask for help? Living a life of loving your love of Christ is a daily commitment to share God’s faith, God’s hope, God’s charity and God’s love. Make everything visible by taking off the robe of selfishness.

In prayer we ask: Dear God, today we pray everything is visible for the lost to see. We pray we have the confidence to say yes and give more. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-26-2011

So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for His sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God. 1 Timothy 1:8

2 Timothy 1:1-8, Psalm 96:1-2a, 2b-3, 7-8a, 10 & Mark 4:1-20

Do you feel shame when you testify to the LORD? Last night my beautiful wife and I were discussing how one gives everything to the LORD. How do you consecrate everything you do for the Glory of God? My testimony is simple yet fulfilling; practice, pray and proclaim. I practice by reading my Bible several different times a day. If I’m troubled by something, I open and read the Word of God. No matter what I’m doing I pray before it, during it and after it. From getting up in the morning, to thanking Jesus for everything. I pray unceasingly. Not just in times of need but over everything. And I proclaim with love in my heart and soul for the One Who gives us Salvation. Paul teaches us to, “stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.” 1 Timothy 1:6-7 We all have this power and love and we all have self-control. How do you Glorify God in all you do?

Jesus was a man of many parables and here in Mark 4 Jesus takes the time to explain His parable of the Seed Sower. “The Sower sows the Word” (of God). Many will hear the Word as you share it with them in every day life but Satan will take away the Truth from their hearts and continue to sin. Here we must be extra diligent in sharing the Word with these people. Invite them to a service or to a prayer meeting. Get their number and call them. The one on Rocky Ground hears the Word and rejoices with you but their roots are insufficient to sustain their love of God so they return to sin. Rejoice with them and remind these people how this feeling which is sweeping them into joy will last forever by true cultivation of God’s Word daily. Some will hear the Word and be worried about losing their earthly things and these things will choke their desire to honor our God and thus run away from your proclamation. But finally you will encounter the majority of people in the world who want to hear and learn about God’s amazing love and forgiveness. They will seek out the LORD in everything they do once you plant the Seed of Truth in their heart and soul. A majority of America lives in this rich soil and are just waiting for you or me to talk to them about our love of loving Christ and Glorifying God in all things by His Holy Word of Truth. Sow His Word and bring more people to know His Son’s Salvation for all eternity.

And so we pray: My Lord and my God, We pray today to be Sowers of Your Word to everyone we meet. May Your Truth be our guide and Your Spirit be our courage. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,
Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-25-2011

He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:15-16

Acts 9: 1-22, Psalm 117:1bc, 2 & Mark 16:15-18

The story of Saul turned Saint Paul on the road to Damascus to bind in chains anyone who proclaims the name of Christ Jesus. The Light of Christ came upon Saul on his journey and blinded him allowing him to hear Jesus proclaim to him; “On his journey, as he was nearing Damascus, a light from the sky suddenly flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” He said, “Who are you, sir?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. Now get up and go into the city and you will be told what you must do.” Acts 9″ 3-6 Many of you I am sure have heard the voice of God talking to you in a dream or in a vision but were afraid to pursue His call. “What will people think if I deny myself and be everything for God?” I’m here to tell you they will be encouraged to give more to Him. They will be encouraged to speak more of Christ. They will seek to have what you have by your walk and your talk. They will hear you speak of such graces they will seek to understand Him better. The Scales of Selfishness will fall away from your eyes and you too will be anointed Apostle of Christ Jesus.

Now as an Apostle you are charged with proclaiming the Gospel to every creature. There are many a story of saints who preached to every creature including animals of different types. Reading through some of these stories reminds me we are all responsible for living a life of giving glory to God for all things. Our LORD has given us more than just water to drink and food to eat. He has given us the ability to hear the wonder of the world. A bird singing or the soothing sounds of the ocean’s current crashing to the shore. He has given us honey to taste and various spices to enrich the flavor of our food. He has given us the sense of touch to feel the softness of a new born baby or the caress of your spouse. He has given us the ability to smell the flowers and to smell fresh baked bread baking. He has given us eyes to see the world and all its glories. The amazing qualities our LORD has blessed us with in living a life of loving your love of Christ must be proclaimed in His Truth to every creature.

And so we pray: Dear God, I pray today to have the confidence to proclaim the Gospel to every creature and to give all glory to You LORD for everything I hear, taste, feel, smell, and see. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,
Thomas JOe Cruz-Wiggins

Just as it is appointed that human beings die once, and after this the judgment, so also Christ, offered once to take away the sins of many

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-24-2011

Just as it is appointed that human beings die once, and after this the judgment, so also Christ, offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to take away sin but to bring Salvation to those who eagerly await Him. Hebrews 9:27-28

Hebrews 9:15, 24-28, Psalm 98:1, 2-3ab, 3cd-4, 5-6 & Mark 3:22-30

There are many times in my life I look back and remember encouraging smiles, graceful forgiveness and life-lasting memories from my Grandmother Mildred Carter. We weren’t afforded the opportunity to nurse her back from a sickness because she died in church pew from a heart attack on a Sunday night. Likewise, her husband and my grandfather Colen Carter died suddenly when my mother was only seven years old (I think). We as human beings only die once but we must be ready at any time when that day will come. I have been experiencing friends getting sick lately and I remind them God has a plan for them.

While the experience of life-changing medical conditions can alter one’s mood and heart, it is this exact time I remind people to call on the Lord in prayer through fasting, group community prayer and service projects. Pray with family and friends alike day in and day out waking up in the LORD reading His Word and going to sleep with Him each day. God has in store for us amazing peace for all eternity by our acceptance of His Truth. Talk to God and He’ll talk back to you. Keep Him in your heart and share Him with your soul. His love is unstoppable. Embrace Him often in praise. Seek Him in the stillness of your heart beat. Loving your love of Christ requires faith, hope, charity and love and perseverant living as James wrote in Chapter One; “Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. And let perseverance be perfect, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4

And so we pray: Dear Lord, we pray for all people lost in sickness that they may gain perseverance from Your love. Keep us undivided steadfast in Your love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,
Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-23-2011

For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with the wisdom of human eloquence, so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied of its meaning. 1 Corinthians 1:17

From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17

Isaiah 8:23-9:3-1, Psalm 27:1, 4, 13-14, 1 Corinthians 1:10-13, 17 & Matthew 4:12-23

How do you feel about your harvest? Your spoils God has blessed you with. Do you use them all in the Name of the Lord? Is it possible to do everything for Him with every breath you take? Do you dream about Christ’s Truth? As Anne Graham Lotz wrote: “My Jesus is Everything.” Is He your everything? Can you allow Jesus to “smash” all the self-centered things cluttering your life? There is so much clutter in a person’s life. There is a “yoke of burden” Christ will eliminate by the Trust you place in glorifying His Father to accomplish His Truth in your life. I can see how Mother Theresa was so successful after leaving her school and placing herself on the streets in the midst of so much death and despair. She emptied herself of all possessions trusting God would lead her, guide her and protect her. Where would life take you if you committed to “denying yourself for His sake?”

When you loose all fear and the Holy Spirit leads you in everything you say and do, a tranquil feeling emerges in your soul and you know everything is the way God wants it to be. You see it in people you surround yourself with in Christ. An “Armor of God” to accomplish all for the Glory of the Father. Where would our world be if we all agreed on the love of Christ and the Divine Teachings of Holy Scripture? Paul reminds us to be One in God to accomplish living in peace and harmony. Will the world outgrow God? What a scary thought. But our world is in need of Truth leading us by the people of today to accomplish the good of tomorrow. Isaiah wrote the journey of Christ by the Holy Spirit enlightening his soul. When Jesus went to Capernaum by the sea to live, Isaiah traced His footsteps by the Great Light of the Lord and Jesus began preaching “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Ultimately, His Father’s Will brought Him to ask two brothers, ““Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Once again, proof of when you deny yourself for your love of loving Christ, you empty yourself of all barriers to accomplish only the Will of God for the Good of Humanity.

In prayer we ask: Dear Heavenly Father, today we pray for the ability to deny ourselves for the sake of Christ’s love. We repent again today of anything we might have done to offend You LORD. Allow us to preach the Gospel in the Great Light of Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

How much more will the blood of Christ, Who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to worship the Living God

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-22-2011

How much more will the blood of Christ, Who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to worship the Living God   Hebrews 9:14

Hebrews 9:2-3, 11-14, Psalm 47:2-3, 6-7, 8-9 & Mark 3:20-21

How many of us still haven’t cleaned our consciousness from dead works to establish a complete surrender to a life of Christ? Ritualistic customs over the years have certainly seen their share of unusual and sometimes barbaric offerings in worshiping God. While the description of goat’s and calves blood doesn’t seem appealing when describing past practices, the soulistic connection gained by giving up everything for living in Jesus brings euphoric feelings from knowing the Blood of Christ cleansed your sins and mankind’s sins for all eternity. Here today, I am reminded by this talk of blood that senseless acts of death has spilled the blood of over 52 million babies in America alone since January 22, 1973. I am guilty of this as well allowing my first wife before we were married to have an abortion. A truth unknown to my children until today. I have cried countless times for that baby years later when I awoke in Christ’s arms to become everything for him. A discussion of surrender I have enjoyed conversation about with friends in Christ seeking to recognize and obtain how to complete this surrender of body, mind and soul of every action, every thought or every breath we take. Can you do it? I am reminded today my surrender is not completely unblemished but rather in need of further fasting, further denial of self and further prayer. Will you join me? Will you pray with me today for the babies spilling their blood without voice except your own.

Sometimes I feel confused by people’s reactions to loving your love of Christ. It seems to the most part people react positively to worshipping our LORD in public say in praying before a meal or praying with someone by holding hands. To Bruce the Homeless Painter I split my sub with at Subway last Thursday, I hope my praying with you in public garnished God’s love in my surrender to His Son’s Truth. There are many things we do as Christians to offer love and charity to people that might say looks like we are out of our mind. Christ’s life here on earth was no different experiencing complete denial and hatred of His Amazing love and Redemption. People spit in His face. They whipped His Body until it bled. They suffocated Him on a Cross but were still offered His Everlasting Forgiveness when He rose again three days later to breathe the Holy Spirit on His Apostles. Our God is so amazing. Everything in place of wonder, despair and fear. We should have the confidence to practice, pray and proclaim our love of Christ anywhere, anytime and anyplace with anyone. No matter what people say or do, your surrender to Christ lifts people less fortunate than you sharing His love with all humanity.

And so we pray: My Lord and My God, surrendered and ready my soul needs repairing from family aches from my love of You. I pray You bind my soul with Your Son’s Truth to proclaim without shame living in union with You for Your Glory. I pray today Your people come to know that every baby we have allowed to be killed will be given forgiveness by Your Son’s Blood on a Cross. LORD please teach us to stop killing babies senselessly. I ask this through Christ our LORD, Amen.

‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from least to greatest. For I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sins no more

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-21-2011

‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from least to greatest. For I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:11c-12

Hebrews 8:6-13, Psalm 85:8 and 10, 11-12, 13-14 & Mark 3:13-19

The author of Hebrews goes further and explains of the High Priest of Whom God had chosen to bring his New Covenant of Love to accomplish the Forgiveness of Sins come from the Prophet Jeremiah’s text in Chapter 31 versus 31-34 saying, “The days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers the day I took them by the hand to lead them forth from the land of Egypt; for they broke my covenant and I had to show myself their master, says the LORD. But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD. I will place my law within them, and write it upon their hearts; I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer will they have need to teach their friends and kinsmen how to know the LORD. All, from least to greatest, shall know me, says the LORD, for I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sin no more.”

The LORD Jesus Christ appoints His Apostles to carry out this New Covenant as we learn in Mark 3: 13-15, “He went up the mountain and summoned those whom He wanted and they came to Him. He appointed twelve (whom He also named apostles) that they might be with Him and He might send them forth to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.” Saint Paul called himself an Apostle stating in Ephesians 1:1, “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God” describes how many of us feels today when we seek to accomplish the Will of God in all things. We are drawn to the label “An Apostle of Christ Jesus” because we feel it is fulfilling the destiny of God’s Divine Plan for us. By loving your love of Christ you become an Apostle by your practice, prayer and proclamation for the LORD will remember our sins no more.

And so we pray: Dear God, today I pray for Christ-guided trip to Key West to accomplish Your Will and seek to glorify Your Name. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

And whenever unclean spirits saw Him they would fall down before Him and shout, “You are the Son of God

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-20-2011

Therefore, He is always able to save those who approach God through Him, since He lives forever to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25

And whenever unclean spirits saw Him they would fall down before Him and shout, “You are the Son of God.” Mark 3:11

Hebrews 7:25—8:6, Psalm 40:7-8a, 8b-9, 10, 17 & Mark 3:7-12

There is indeed a greater work being accomplished by your surrender to living a life of Christ. A redemptive miracle is taking place through the power of prayer. People will see this in you by your practice. People will this in you by your prayer life. People will this in you by your proclamation. No matter where you are, you can pray to God and thus live a life being saved by your love of Christ Jesus. Many a person has found it hard to accept a complete surrender to living for God. You might think, “I’m not good enough. I smoke. I can’t give ten percent to the church. I’m too busy, etc, etc, etc” But God’s Only Son provided an intersession for you to approach God through Him. He has paid the debt of sin by His death on the Cross. Jesus says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

When people see the love of Christ in you, they are drawn to you just as the unclean spirits who fell at Jesus’ feet shouting, “You are the Son of God.” There have been countless times people have approached me and asked, “are you a pastor?” I always reply, “I’m a Disciple of Christ Jesus. Can I pray for you?” When you become bold in the Lord’s Truth, you learn to pray anywhere, anytime and anyplace for ANYONE. Jesus explained that anything you ask in My Name He will do and the works accomplished for the sake of His Name will be greater than His. “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in Me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in My name, I will do, so that the Father may be Glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of Me in My name, I will do it.” John 14:12-14 When we learn to love our love of Christ, we know we can approach God through Jesus to Glorify God in all we accomplish.

And so we pray: My LORD and My God, we pray today to overcome all sin by our surrender to Your Son’s Truth to Glorify You LORD in all things. Through Christ our LORD. Amen.

The LORD has sworn and will not waver: “Like Melchizedek You are a Priest forever.”

Wig’s Word of God Today 1-19-2011

The LORD has sworn and will not waver: “Like Melchizedek You are a Priest forever.” Psalm 110:4

Hebrews 7:1-3, 15-17, Psalm 110:1, 2, 3, 4 & Mark 3:1-6

There is a freedom associated with surrender to following the Gospel of Christ Jesus and learning to live and breathe it each and every day. It has been said somewhere that we are not asked to believe the Bible but believe in the One who through divine revelations has written the Bible as a roadmap so to speak for your life. The Bible is your source of all needs to do what is right in the world. It is your Book of Faith. It is your Book of Hope. It is your Book of Charity. It is your Book of Love. It is your Book of Patience allowing you to live a life of Christ filled with faith, hope, charity and love.

Right now, the fire of Christ’s love is burning inside the soul of the Emmaus retreatants of last weekend. I’m sure like many of us who has been on a retreat, you want to share Jesus with everyone you see. What you are feeling is the Salvation of God coming into focus. Let the experience transform you into living a life led by the Spirit. There will be times though when you find it difficult to pray to God and surrender to His Son’s Truth. This is the time to open your Bible and read and through the Spirit of God His Truth will be revealed allowing your surrender to become visible in your heart, mind and soul. By loving your love of Christ, the King of Peace will provide all your needs to overcome anything life has to offer.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, today I pray Your Spirit has led me to write only words that Glorify You LORD in all things. I ask in prayer that we turn to the High Priest of Christ Jesus for every need in our lives refreshing our soul constantly by reading Your Word and acting upon it. Through Christ our LORD I pray. Amen.
