Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the Gospel of God

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-19-2010

Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the Gospel of God, which He promised previously through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures. Romans 1:1-2

Isaiah 7:10-14, Psalm 24:1-2, 3-4, 5-6., Romans 1:1-7 & Matthew 1:18-24

While I sat with about eighty men and prayed last Friday morning, one of my Brother’s in Christ pointed out to me this passage, “a slave of Christ Jesus,” saying, “I like this, He was a Slave of Christ.” I replied with an, “Amen Brother. A Slave of Christ Jesus! Hallelujah!” To be a slave of the Truth allowing yourself the joy of being One with God as Isaiah and all the Prophets where He resides in your soul to guide you and teach you. Paul teaches those of us who believe in Christ to be “proclaimer’s of His Truth” in an abiding reality of not being holy men and women but sharing His Gospel of Redemption.

After countless hours of studying the Bible and learning more about the Saints and Martyrs, I have come to understand that personal holiness is an effect of Redemption and not the cause of it. One cannot be focused on his own holiness to receive Redemption or place this desire above getting to know God. We must all strive to relinquish our own desires and surrender totally to living a life of Christ to Proclaim the Gospel with confidence and joy. When you let go and let God run your life, loving your love of Christ becomes your strength, your confidence and your calling.

And so we pray: My Lord and My God, we pray today for safe travels of Christmas shoppers. I pray today for my family’s well-being, my wife, my daughter in Medical School, my son in Hollywood, California, my son in Orlando and my two sons here in Homestead. I pray as always for everyone who has asked me to pray for them and all those I said I would pray for. I pray to accomplish Your Will Lord in all I do. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will raise up a righteous shoot to David

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-18-2010

Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will raise up a righteous shoot to David; As king he shall reign and govern wisely, he shall do what is just and right in the land. Jeremiah 23:5

 Jeremiah 23:5-8, Psalm 72:1-2, 12-13, 18-19 & Matthew 1:18-25

The foretelling of God’s Only Son came in many areas throughout the Old Testament as Jeremiah details here to “raise up a righteous shoot to David;” Jesus Christ. I have often dreamed of living in the days of old as a Prophet who listens to God’s voice through writing, fasting and prayer. In many ways, we each have a responsibility to proclaim the “Good News” of Christ just as the Prophets of old did thousands of years ago. Even before Christ was born, God presented His Plan to the Prophets to prepare His People for the coming of Jesus. We are responsible now to proclaim His Second Coming living as the eyes, hands and feet of the Lord.

People will see this in you and begin to ask you questions to help them in their lives. Last night at a Christmas party, the husband of a fellow teacher approached me for the first time ever and asked “Is it Okay to hold back giving ten percent to God when you are having financial difficulties?” Today more then ever, people everywhere are experiencing financial hardships and will begin to ask themselves “should I stop giving to God when times are so tough?” As I explained to my fellow teacher’s husband, “God will test you in many situations in your life. These are the times when you should give more to the Lord and God will abundantly shine His Graces on you.” I finished by telling him God understands when you withhold giving to the church for financial difficulties but consider what areas of your life can you change to give more to God each time you get paid. My wife added, “Substitute your giving with work for the Lord. Visit the sick, console the elderly or volunteer in a homeless shelter.” We give more to the Lord when we stop and think how to love our love of Christ by any means possible, be it giving all we have financially or physically. As Mother Teresa put it, “It’s between you and God anyway.”

And so we pray: Heaven Father, we pray today for those who are experiencing financial difficulties in the Season of Your Son’s Birth. We pray You guide us to understand how to give even when we have no money to give by being an example in our talents and our time. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:28

He Named the Child Jesus

A Shoot of Righteousness
Foretold by the Lord
Came to save us from sin
His Blood on a Cross implored

The lowly and poor He kisses
Each and every cry He hears
Thankful to the Lord of the Heavens
Be joyous for each and every fear

Afraid he was told not to be
The Angel whispered so graciously
Mary is with child by the Spirit of God
Joseph agreed and named the boy for Humanity

As the Angel instructed
He Named the child Jesus
Sins He will save for mankind’s need
Proved by the Blood for us all to heed

The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-17-2010

The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. Matthew 1:1

 Genesis 49:2, 8-10, Ps 72:1-2, 3-4ab, 7-8, 17 & Matthew 1:1-17

Matthew lends a hand to searching Christ’s bloodline forty two generations deep. Many Bible scholars agree this shows a detailed continual plan from Abraham to Christ’s birth and relates to the passage in Genesis 22:17-18 “I will bless you abundantly and make your descendants as countless as the stars of the sky and the sands of the seashore; your descendants shall take possession of the gates of their enemies, and in your descendants all the nations of the earth shall find blessing–all this because you obeyed my command.”  Many of us think often about our family’s past of where we come from and from whom. I pray we all keep in mind that we are from one true source making us all brothers and sisters in Christ. I believe if we consider Humanity as one big family, we may begin to understand what living with faith, hope, charity and love will show in loving our love of Christ.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father today is our ninth day of prayer of peace and healing of Jhaysonn. Our prayers will continue for Jhaysonn Lord and we ask you to heal him from his affliction. Allow him to continue his love of You and by his healing, be a true witness to Your amazing grace and power. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

The LORD calls you back, like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, a wife married in youth and then cast off, says your God

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-16-2010

The LORD calls you back, like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, a wife married in youth and then cast off, says your God. Isaiah 54:6

 Isaiah 54:1-10, Psalm 30:2 and 4, 5-6, 11-12a and 13b & Luke 7:24-30

Do you ever feel the Lord calling you back? Back from sinful selfish ways? Back from meeting Him halfway? Back to His Strong Arms where He waits continuously to cradle you in His Arms of Mercy. Isaiah reminds us God will never forsake you. He may get mad at you but He will never leave you. He is our Father and His love is a deep bonded paternal love. The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be brave and steadfast; have no fear or dread of them, for it is the LORD, your God, Who marches with you; He will never fail you or forsake you.” His Mercy guides us if we allow His Decrees to settle into our souls where His Holy Spirit will give us New Life of hope, faith, charity and love.

Many of us would agree our nation has begun to come back to the Lord. There are sweeping reforms happening in churches all over America embracing the Holy Spirit to guide our selfish ways back to His care. He is waiting with open arms and with His Mighty Arms He will embrace this great nation with joy in our hearts. His Covenant of Peace is Eternal and His Mercy forgiving as Isaiah tells us in our last verse of today’s reading; “Though the mountains leave their place and the hills be shaken, My love shall never leave you nor my covenant of peace be shaken, says the LORD, Who has mercy on you.” Isaiah 54:10 In Loving your love of Christ, you embrace the New Covenant of Love fulfilled in Christ’s Life, Death and Resurrection.

And so we pray: My Lord and My God, we continue our nine days of prayer for Jhaysonn’s peace and healing. We pray today to be a people who travel back to Your Trust sustaining our confidence in Your Word and our vocations to accomplish Your Will. “I will never forsake you or abandon you” will guide us by our faith, hope, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Turn to me and be safe, all you ends of the earth, for I am God; there is no other!

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-15-2010

Turn to me and be safe, all you ends of the earth, for I am God; there is no other!  Isaiah 45:22

Isaiah 45:6c-8, 18, 21c-25, Psalm 85:9ab and 10, 11-12, 13-14 & Luke 7:18b-23

I love meeting new people and talking to them about the love of our Lord and Savior and what God means to our country. I look back on the Founding Father’s attitudes about God and smile when I meet people who are willing to do whatever it takes to keep God in their life and the foundation of our Democratic Structure. George Washington once wrote, “It is impossible to govern the world without God and the Bible. Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.” The Prophet Isaiah spoke continuously about turning to the Lord for safety and forgiveness writing “Only in the LORD are just deeds and power!”

As Christian people, we are responsible for sharing the “Good News” of God’s Only Son with mankind making no distinction of political parties or ideals. It is our duty as Americans to seek refuge and forgiveness from our God and promote morality, justice and faith. “For thus says the LORD, The creator of the heavens, Who is God, The designer and maker of the earth Who established it, Not creating it to be a waste, but designing it to be lived in: I am the LORD, and there is no other.” Isaiah 45:18 Jesus reminds us in Luke 7:23, “blessed is the one who takes no offense at me.” People everywhere are coming back to God realizing the importance of living with honor and Truth. Loving your love of Christ is instilled in your daily life by your desire to see your friends, community and nation be blessed by the One and Only True God.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we have reached day seven of our nine days of prayer for Jhaysonn’s healing and peace. Today we pray especially for those involved in sharing conservative ideas of Your Heavenly grace by Your Divine Teachings through Your Word. May our work be only for the Your Will Lord seeking to share Your faith, Your hope, Your Charity and Your love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-14-2010

When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him. Matthew 21:32

Zephaniah 3:1-2, 9-13, Psalm 34:2-3, 6-7, 17-18, 19 and 23 & Matthew 21:28-32

Zephaniah is said by many Biblical Scholars to speak very boldly about God because he was proclaiming the Word of the Lord. “Woe to the city, rebellious and polluted, to the tyrannical city! She hears no voice, accepts no correction; In the LORD she has not trusted, to her God she has not drawn near.” Zephaniah 3:1-2 The Book of Zephaniah proclaims a message of judgment yet encouragement with three key points: The first being God is sovereign over all nations, secondly the wicked will be punished while the righteous will be vindicated on the day of God’s Judgment and lastly God blesses those who repent and trust in Him. There will come a day when the Lord’s Wrath will fall upon the earth and those of us who are repentful filled with faith, hope and love will be taken up to heaven to receive His Promise of Everlasting Life.

Jesus continued to question the chief priests with a parable of two sons: “A man had two sons. He came to the first and said, ‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’  He said in reply, ‘I will not,’ but afterwards he changed his mind and went. The man came to the other son and gave the same order. He said in reply, ‘Yes, sir,’ but did not go. Which of the two did his father’s will?” Matthew 21:28-31 These questions are viable today when you ask yourselves: “Do you follow Christ’s call to repentance?” Even the prostitutes and tax collectors who were Baptized by John the Baptist followed John’s call to repentance but the religious leaders of the day condemned themselves by their answer. Have you answered the call by Christ to repent becoming a person of dignity, honor and respect? Or have you met Christ only half way and continue a life of sinful ways? Loving your love of Christ brings you full circle in life and allows you to embrace surrender to His Love with complete confidence and love in His Truth.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we continue our nine days of prayer for Jhaysonn’s healing and peace. We pray we always trust in Your Word to guide us to be people of faith, hope, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen

The Will of God to Guide Them

Are you rebellious and polluted?
His voice mute to your ear?
Purity will pass across your lips
The Word of God will provide true fear

The brokenhearted is close to His Love
Guided by His Truth in every way
In their distress He rescues them
A faith guided by love to play

Two sons are asked to work
Repentance is the last perk
The Will of God to guide them
The Kingdom of Heaven abide them

Guide me in Your Truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior. For you I wait all the long day, because of Your goodness, LORD

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-13-2010

Guide me in Your Truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior. For you I wait all the long day, because of Your goodness, LORD. Psalm 25:5

Numbers 24:2-7, 15-17a, Psalm 25:4-5ab, 6 and 7bc, 8-9 & Matthew 21:23-27

There are times in all of our lives we cannot understand why something happened. We try and try but it seems to escape us. We might even say, “God, you got this wrong; why did my dad have to die.” I reflected on this statement when I pulled over with four kids in my car as we drove home from church yesterday next to a lady and a little girl placing flowers by a sign of someone who had been killed in a car accident on Krome Ave. I pulled up and asked, “I’m sorry to disturb you, but I was wondering if me and the children could pray for you?” The lady smiled and said yes and I asked her who the sign was for. She replied, “My husband, her father.” And she told me his name. I said to the children immediately “we are going to pray for her husband and this little girl’s father” as the woman bowed her head the little child joined her and I prayed aloud. The mother looked up at me as I finished and she smiled saying “thank you.” We all waived goodbye with a “God Bless You both and bye little girl” while they both smiled and waived back.

It’s hard to trust and let go sometimes. The Chief Priests were no different when they questioned Jesus here in Matthew 21:23-37 saying, “By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?” Jesus replied, “I shall ask you one question, and if you answer it for Me, then I shall tell you by what authority I do these things. Where was John’s baptism from? Was it of heavenly or of human origin?” As they discussed it amongst one another, they too were embarrassed and frightened to answer for John was a mighty Prophet indeed and all the people loved him. This fright is a natural feeling; can we let go and let God be the center of our lives? Do we question Him regarding the death of a loved one or seek comfort from Him? The Free Will God gives all Humanity has no limits and sometimes because of this Free Will bad things can happen. It’s how we react and share this tragic event in our life is what makes us God-fearing people. When you love your love of Christ, you love His Father’s Will and celebrate it in good times and in bad times knowing He can comfort you if you allow Him to.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we continue our nine-day of prayers for Jhaysonn’s healing and peace. Today we pray for all those who have lost loved ones that You Lord may give them peace during this Christmas Season. Guide us in Your Truth Lord and teach us to be a people of faith, hope, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

‘Behold, I am sending my messenger ahead of You; he will prepare Your way before You.’

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-12-2010

This is the One about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I am sending my messenger ahead of You; he will prepare Your way before You.’ Matthew 11:10

Isaiah 35:1-6a, 10, Psalm 146:6-7, 8-9, 9-10., James 5:7-10 & Matthew 11:2-11

Isaiah speaks of such wonder with flowers blooming, parch land becoming rich and full while rejoicing and singing displays strength in the weak telling the frightened to fear not for their God will exult them. Many of us are frightened by what we experience each and every day. Families being destroyed because of drugs and sexual promiscuity. Children living in the streets while perhaps thousands of high-rise apartments go unlived in. There is something dreadfully wrong in our culture today when we allow our nation to be driven by Mass Media and sinful philosophical ideas. There is such a need for everyone to stand up and bond our love of God together to strive for the common good. Many have become complacent but there is a solution: Jesus Christ.

As I walked yesterday towards an abortion clinic to pray with several people from 7-9 AM and began to cross the street, I looked down and noticed a pink baby doll lying in the street so I leaned down and picked it up. I had this overwhelming sense of irony as I sat and held the baby as we prayed in front of the building where its address is 6660 and countless babies have been murdered there in years past. I reflected on a poem I wrote titled, “Thrown Away in a Bin” thinking the babies might as well be thrown away in the streets without a care in the world. I learned later this baby had been tied to another baby and thrown over a palm branch in front of the clinic as a symbol of the death occurring there. Tears began to well up in eyes as I thought, “How many of these children being killed here today would have been doctors who cured cancer or could have been president?” What have we allowed to happen all these years here in America? Genocide of our own society?

The Book of James reminds us to be patient for the coming of the Lord while learning to live in harmony with one another not speaking ill of anyone and certainly not judging anyone. James reminds also to reflect on those Prophets and people who took upon themselves the hardships of proclaiming their love of Christ to their ultimate death. As it was written in the Old Testament of Malachi 3:1: “Lo, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me; And suddenly there will come to the temple the LORD whom you seek, And the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Yes, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts.” In loving your love of Christ, you stay steadfast for the coming of the Lord in faith, hope, patience and love.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we continue our nine days of prayer for Jhaysonn’s healing and peace. We pray today especially for those who are homeless, out of work and addicted to drugs. May this season of Yours Son’s birthday be filled faith, hope, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,

Elijah has already come and they did not recognize him but did to him whatever they pleased. So also will the Son of Man suffer at their hands

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-11-2010

Elijah has already come and they did not recognize him but did to him whatever they pleased. So also will the Son of Man suffer at their hands. Matthew 17:12

Sirach 48:1-4, 9-11, Psalm 80:2ac and 3b, 15-16, 18-19 & Matthew 17:9a, 10-13

The story of Elijah brings about fear from those who truly believe the Lord our God is real for many reasons; The Bible tells us he was commanded by God to tell King Ahab in 1 Kings 17:1 that there would be no rain for three years because of worshiping a fake God they called Baal. Then the Lord sent him to a place where he would be brought food by ravens and drink from a stream. Ultimately, Elijah challenged the King’s Prophets to prove the Lord God was God of all by having each build a big pile of wood and throwing a killed bull on top of each pile and asking their God to set it a fire. The Prophets prayed, screamed aloud to Baal and danced, yet nothing happened. When it became Elijah’s turn, he prayed and fire rained down from heaven and burned up the wood and the bull even though Elijah had poured water all over it. Elijah proved time and time again his Lord, the One and Only Lord God, is the Lord of All forever and ever. When the Lord God took him to heaven, he took him in blazing chariot of fire. His life was an example of someone who truly loved God and followed His Will. Your fear of His Wrath is understood as Glorifying the One and Only True God.

Christ tell us here Matthew that Elijah did come again as the Scribes believed by the life of John the Baptist but they didn’t heed to his warning of repentance and did with him as they like, ultimately taking his head off in a mindless and senseless death. “Then the disciples understood that He was speaking to them of John the Baptist.” Matthew 17:13 The Son of Man was God in the flesh who brought about God’s New Covenant of love establishing the Truth once and for all. I constantly remind people Jesus was God in the flesh Who knew of His impending death on a Cross because He came to the world to live sinless and allow Himself to be nailed to a Cross for the Salvation of Sins for all Humanity. He raise himself from the dead proving only God could do such amazing acts of faith, hope and love. An Everlasting Covenant between the Lord our God and His people; You and Me. Center your life around the Cross and your love of loving Christ will be your protection from God’s coming wrath of all the world.

And so we pray: My Lord and my God, today we continue our nine day prayer of healing and peace for Jhaysonn’s primary refractory Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Please Lord place Your Healing Hands of life around his body and heal this disease. His family and Jhaysonn I believe worship You Lord as the Lord of Lords just as Elijah proved by Your fire You are the Lord God. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen. Pray, please pray.

God Bless,
Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

But wisdom is vindicated by her works. Luke 11:19c

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-10-2010

If you would hearken to my commandments, your prosperity would be like a river, and your vindication like the waves of the sea. Isaiah 48:18

But wisdom is vindicated by her works. Luke 11:19c

Isaiah 48:17-19, Psalm 1:1-2, 3, 4 and 6 & Matthew 11:16-19

There is a poem Mother Teresa of Calcutta is said to have placed on a wall at her home for children and in her personal room titled “You and God.” The last stanza reflects the following: “It is between you and God; It never was between you and them anyway.” Mother Teresa shared her understanding of “wisdom is vindicated by her works” through her daily life of faith, hope, charity and love. She never allowed anyone to sway her determination to give more to the poor, more to the homeless or more to the sick and dying. She picked up people lying in the streets dying of AIDS and gave them a place to die in comfort, honor and peace. She followed the commandments of the Lord and her life was filled prosperity and her vindication was the people she led to join her way of giving, prayer and hope to the countless people they are still helping today 13 years after her death. Is it between you and God or is it between you and them anyway?

Isaiah tells us to allow God to teach us what is right and Christ reminds us that “wisdom is vindicated by her works.” Even as Jesus was being called a “glutton and a drunkard,” He was steadfast is teaching His New Covenant of faith, hope and love. People look at others as if they know them when they make comments or gossip about complete strangers. The Bible teaches us not to judge your fellow neighbors in James 4:12, “Do not speak evil of one another, brothers. Whoever speaks evil of a brother or judges his brother speaks evil of the law and judges the law. If you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.” Loving your love of Christ allows you to look at everyone as a Brother or Sister in Christ where your wisdom is vindicated by your works.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we continue or nine-day of prayers for the young man Jhaysonn suffering from cancer. Today Lord, I ask specifically in prayer to help find a young man kidnapped in Mexico by the terrorist who have been raging war there on their citizens. He is a relative of a close friend who is devout to Your Son’s Truth. Teach us all Lord to follow Your Works to accomplish Truth in living and live Your Will in all we do. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,
