Amen, I say to you, among those born of women there has been none greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-9-2010

Amen, I say to you, among those born of women there has been none greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Matthew 11:11

Isaiah 41:13-20, Psalm 145:1 and 9, 10-11, 12-13ab & Matthew 11:11-15

John the Baptist was revealed by the Angel Gabriel to Mary when he came upon her and stated “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” After explaining to Mary how she will bare a son and He will be called “Jesus, the Son of the Most High,” Mary was told of her cousin Elizabeth’s pending birth of a son in her old age “for nothing will be impossible for God.” Today, I want us all to keep in mind; “nothing will be impossible for God” if it is His Will and your faith is strong enough to accept His Will in all things, “nothing will be impossible for God.”

Recently, I began sending my study to a life-long friend whom I love as a brother. We made a pact as 18-year-old kids to be “Bros for Life” and our relationship has never waivered. We call each other often and I lift him and his family up in prayer daily. They are my friends who I call my chosen family. They have a neighbor whose son is fighting cancer and this boy’s name is Jhaysonn. I am unsure of his age but my friend shared my study with him and his father is receiving my study from this day forward. His father wrote me last night to share his prayer chain letter with me and I wanted to ask all my prayer warriors to add Jhaysonn to their daily prayers as I will from last night on. Through the power of prayer we all believe loving our love of Christ “nothing will be impossible for God.” Pray my friends pray.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, today we begin a nine-day prayer of healing and peace novena for Jhaysonn Pathak. We ask You Lord to place Your Healings Hands on Jhaysonn’s tumor and melt it away like snow in the sun. Allow Your Son’s Truth to guide him and his mother and father to live Your Will and grant us this prayer by our faith and love in the Name above all other Names Jesus Christ. Amen.

Salvation By God He Sent

Your Hands O’Lord are healing
Your Hands O’Lord reveals
The Truth in the Word of Living
The Truth of love so real

Dry ground flowing waters exude
Your grace falls upon the faithful
Trees grow tall for air to breath
The wasteland of souls now believe

Extol our King in thanksgiving
His Mighty Arm will save in lieu
The weak and ill are healed forever
God’s Power can take away the blues

A great man foretold in the desert
Of a Son Who calls all to repent
By His Death we are all liberated
Salvation by Christ He sent

The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called Holy, the Son of God

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-8-2010

And the angel said to her in reply, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called Holy, the Son of God. Luke 1:35

Genesis 3:9-15, 20, Psalm 98:1, 2-3ab, 3cd-4, Ephesians 1:3-6, 11-12 & Luke 1:26-38

In Genesis we learn the serpent has tricked Eve into eating from the forbidden tree and as many a man will do, follow his girl into anything when she calls for him. We experience this even today when we allow Satan to trick us and lead us in a life of selfish acts. We forget about our families and responsibilities and allow the evil spirits to sway our feelings about doing wrong when we know in our heart we should be running away as fast as we can. There is much to learn from Genesis and we all should spend some time in this book to help direct our paths of righteousness.

Paul again reminds us Christ is the foundation of the world laid before all the heavens were in place. As too His Plan for Salvation by sending His Angel Gabriel to announce to Mary of Galilee that she would give birth to a son by stating, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High,  and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and He will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” Luke 1: 30-33 I have heard many a sermon on the words, “Do Not Be Afraid.” Words guided by many an Angel in Scripture to rid our soul of fear and replace it with faith, hope and love. Love your love of Christ and “Do Not Be Afraid.”

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, guide us to never be afraid just as Mary was in accepting her mission for all humanity. Send the Holy Spirit to us to practice, pray and proclaim the Good News to all we meet. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Tricked by the serpent to see
Adam ate from the tree
Following the woman to be
Mother of all Humanity

Christ is in us
Foundation of all
Call upon Him
Salvation from the fall

Gabriel the Angel arrived
Seeking Mary’s side
“The Lord is with you,” he said
Her acceptance void of pride

A birth of a son you will give
He will rule over the world you live

In just the same way, it is not the will of your Heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-7-2010

In just the same way, it is not the will of your Heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost.  Matthew 18:14

Isaiah 40:1-11, Psalm 96:1-2, 3 and 10ac, 11-12, 13 & Matthew 18:12-14

The prophet Isaiah describes the return of those exiled from Babylon to Jerusalem and we see a parallel here from Matthew 3:3 of John the Baptist crying out in the desert “repent the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” The center of Christ’s mission was to help the poor realize that they are just as important in the kingdom of heaven as the rich. Christ came to the earth to help those who are lost as we learned here in the parable of the lost sheep. Do you not rejoice when you help one lost brother or sister find their way back to Christ Jesus? Christ explains it is not the will of the Father for anyone to be lost and not be saved by the grace of God. Just by helping one lost soul seek Christ in your eyes, your hands and in your feet, you establish the opportunity for the Holy Spirit to come upon this lost soul and be saved by the grace of God. Love your love of Christ and help the lost sheep to find their way home.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we pray today for lost sheep of the world. May we be the eyes that greet the lost with the open arms of Christ. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:28

He Expects Us to Seek Them

Eternal comfort we find
Guilt lost in the dust
Crying out in the desert
Salvation in the God of Trust

You may sing a new song
The Lord is gracious and True
His rule upon the earth
Announced in Salvation’s due

Can one of ninety-nine go astray?
The Will of God says no
He expects us to seek them
Christ’s Salvation they must know

Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’?

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-6-2010

Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? Luke 5:23

Isaiah 35:1-10, Psalm 85:9ab and 10, 11-12, 13-14 & Luke 5:17-26

Every time I read Isaiah, I feel the Holy Spirit rising in me as I listen to the poetic descriptions of the coming of the Lord. Last night I had a chance to meet several people and talk about the coming of the Lord. We all seemed to agree if your trust is in Christ Jesus your fear would be less. But the times are proving there is a need to for Humanity to revert to our Bible and listen to God’s Will in constant prayer. There will come a time God’s judgment will fall upon the earth and by loving your love of Christ you will be prepared. A life centered on your surrender to Christ in practice, in prayer and in proclamation allowing you to rise and walk because your sins have been forgiven.

And so we pray: Dear God, we pray today our life reflects Your Will guided by our desires of faith, hope, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:28

Rise and Walk

Blooms of life growing
Given from up above
Parched land no more
Filled with God’s Holy love

Fear in strength
Fear in Psalm
Fear not Humanity
Fear never wrong

Pools of life open
Desert lands will know
Glory of God’s existence
Thankful love to show

A saving God of mercy
Surely each of us bring
Proclamation of His people
Mankind’s Psalm to sing

Paralytic lying on a stretcher
Lowered from the roof above
His sins are forgiven
“Rise and walk” says the Lamb of Love

Welcome one another, then, as Christ welcomed you, for the Glory of God

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-5-2010

Welcome one another, then, as Christ welcomed you, for the Glory of God. Romans 15:7

Isaiah 11:1-10, Psalm 72:1-2, 7-8, 12-13, 17., Romans 15:4-9 & Matthew 3:1-12

Paul speaks of humanity becoming One in Christ for the glorification of the Father by our practice, prayer and our preaching. It is by our practice that we have divine instruction for us to rely on and by our prayer and preaching we place God first in all we do. “For whatever was written previously was written for our instruction, that by endurance and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to think in harmony with one another, in keeping with Christ Jesus, that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:4-6

Welcome one another in Christ as John the Baptist did in the desert as he baptized anyone who came to accomplish the Will of the Lord. John spoke of Christ as if he knew him before he arrived exclaiming; “I am baptizing you with water, for repentance, but the One who is coming after me is Mightier than I. I am not worthy to carry His sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” Matthew 3:11 By our Baptism we are cleaned and born anew and now led by the Holy Spirit. Love your love of Christ and seek the Holy Spirit to lead you.

And so we pray: Dear God, I pray today to always welcome anyone as Christ welcomed me for the Glory of You. May the Holy Spirit guide us to be One with You for all eternity. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-4-2010

As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give. Matthew 10:7-8Isaiah 30:19-21, 23-26, Psalm 147:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, & Matthew 9:35–10:1, 5a, 6-8

How many of us would trust in the Lord so much, we would leave our home and share the Good News without taking any money or food to eat? I’m sure many of you will say, “I haven’t been called to be a preacher, I’m a lawyer, I’m a teacher, I’m an engineer, I’m a doctor,” etc. etc But I implore you to reconsider. Sharing the Good News requires faith in your ability to see Jesus in everything you do. He is the Way to accomplish it all. When you walk the walk and talk the talk, you become a disciple by your actions and your words. You raise awareness to His Truth by an ever present love you display in your faith, hope, charity and love to friends, family, co-workers and strangers alike. Christ knew the workers would be few but the harvest abundant because the temptation of materialistic selfish gains would pull people away from a life of giving and having less for the sake of their Salvation. Love your love of Christ and proclaim, “‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand,” repent and believe in the Gospel. Amen.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, Lord of All, we pray today in Thanksgiving for a successful trip to Atlanta where even to total strangers, we shared the Good News of Your Son’s Truth. Teach us to freely give what we have been given and expect nothing in return. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,
Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins
Romans 8:28

Give His Proof

Weep no more
Eternal life we implore
Christ is the way
“Walk in it” He will say

Rich and abundant
Water to grow
Seed of truth
Humanity to sow

Gracious is He
Healing every wound
Temptation to be
A Heavenly tune

Pity He felt
Lifting their hearts
Troubles were dealt
Renewed life’s start

Many in need
Few workers show
Desire to be
Disciples who grow

Heaven is near
Proclaim His Truth
No cost received
Give His Proof

Then He touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-3-2010

Then He touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.” Matthew 9:29

 Isaiah 29:17-24, Psalm 27:1, 4, 13-14 & Matthew 9:27-31

The Word of the Lord is Holy and His Name endures forever! Hallelujah! By your faith in Christ Jesus you too can see anything in your life. You can see the beauty in love, compassion, charity and the elderly. There’s something to be said about sharing your time with the elderly, the blind and the poor. In you, even a blind person can see the joy of the Lord. They can witness your strength in His Word by your proclamation. When the Holy Spirit gets a hold of me, I transform into a voice of God that booms His Word joyfully. Love your love of Christ and your life will be lived according to your faith. Amen.

And so we pray: Dear Lord, protect my travels today from Atlanta as we drive 20 hours in 36 hours to attend my son’s audition for the Berklee School of Music. May his audition be according to Your Will filled with The Holy Spirit guiding his fingers across the piano in heavenly sounds of love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Work of evil cutoff
Hands free from sin
The Defender’s justice
Salvation for those who win

No shame in praying in public
Proclamation a joy to see
Living life according to His Will
The Cross the Center of your family

Have pity on those who can’t see
If you believe He will save you
By your faith will you peer to be

Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-2-2010

Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. Matthew 7:24

Isaiah 26:1-6, Psalm 118:1 and 8-9, 19-21, 25-27a & Matthew 7:21, 24-27

Keep the faith and see the Glory of the Lord. Hallelujah! There would come a day I would have to ask the people around me what they really think about the Surrender Christ Jesus asks of Humanity. Stop and take a look at your life: Are you seeking God’s help in everything you do? Are you listening to men or acting on God’s Will by prayer and listening to Him? Is your house built upon a rock of Salvation? Where is God in your life? I have a tag on the front of my car that says: Ask God. Ask God this: Can we really separate God from Country? God from Politics? God from Home? God from Community? God from Family?

Isn’t God the reason for everything in our life? When a child is conceived, wasn’t it God Who conceived it? When life comes to an end, isn’t God Who will judge you accordingly? Will He ask: Why didn’t you stand up and be a voice for the unborn? Will He ask: Why didn’t you stand up and help the homeless? Will He ask: Why didn’t you open your Bible more often and read My Word to your children? Becoming involved with your community can give someone hope. Love your love of Christ and get involved!

And so we pray: Dear God, we pray today for those who need to understand Your the reason for everything. We pray they never exclude Your presence from ANYTHING in their life. We pray Humanity will stand up for kindness, charity and justice. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Seek His refuge
Know His ways
He grants prosperity

Lord, Lord, can I come in?

Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them

Wig’s Word of God Today 12-1-2010

Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them. Matthew 15:30

Isaiah 25:6-10a, Psalm 23:1-3a, 3b-4, 5, 6 & Matthew 15:29-37

Let us rejoice and be glad for He has saved us from a burning eternal misery. Hallelujah! He sent His only Son to reconcile the world from sin allowing Him to be nailed to a Cross for our Salvation. He will wipe away our tears of sorrow, confusion and hate by accepting His Spirit as a guide for all your life has to offer. I find myself asking people I haven’t seen or heard from in years to forgive me for past mistakes knowing they were selfishly lead and ungodly. Seek only His Truth by His Word and you too will want to seek as well as give forgiveness to anyone at anytime in your life.

Psalm 23 has special meanings to many a person in our lives. It is a Psalm of understanding that God is in control of everything and I pray our president is reading it often. When the President of the United States of America states his nation is no longer a Christian Nation, we as Christians should be offended by this and take steps to prove our president wrong. When a president has the audacity to cancel the National Day of Prayer instilled in Americans for years yet pray with the Muslims, we as Christian Americans should be offended by this. America’s first president puts it best when he wrote, “It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and to humbly implore His protection and favor.” October 3, 1789 Proclaiming a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving. Psalm 23 has special meanings to all Americans; Christ is our guide and there is nothing we shall fear.

Jesus was moved with pity here in Matthew 15 after preaching to the crowds for three days because He knew they had not had any nourishment except His Spiritual nourishment. He fed them all with five loaves and two fish a symbolic number totaling seven meaning perfection. Many biblical scholars argue this feeding was probably a double of Matthew 14 where 5000 are fed. More importantly, one should focus on the healing of the many that came before Jesus. Just as in those days, Jesus can heal anything through faith, hope and love by our surrender to His Truth. Loving your love of Christ will heal you to practice, pray and proclaim the Good News of Christ Jesus. Amen.

And so we pray: Lord of all, we pray today for faith, hope, charity and love. Without these four areas of our life being complete, we know we accomplish only a half-way surrender to Your Son’s guidance of Truth. Help us to be 100% all of the time. Give us strength to pray unceasingly over everything in our lives to forever be thankful for Christ’s Eternal Salvation., In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-30-2010

Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matthew 4:19

Romans 10:9-18, Psalm 19:8, 9, 10, 11 & Matthew 4:18-22

Paul reminds us to confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and we will be saved. How often do we really confess with our mouths Christ is King? Sunday in church? Seeing a beautiful bird in flight? Waking in the morning? The Bible tells us to pray unceasingly over everything in our lives, “Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Confess often by calling on the name of Jesus, “thank You Jesus,” is a great way to begin. Find your own way of praising His Holy Name often. The Lord will enrich your life with faith, hope and love by your practice, by your prayers and by your proclamation. “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring (the) Good News!” Romans 10:17

My favorite shirt is my “Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” t-shirt my wife found hanging in a Salvation Army one day. A nice big Christian Fish symbol on the front with a cross through the middle signaling to anyone I love Jesus. There’s something more being said here in Matthew by Jesus when He asks the four brothers to come follow Him. It’s their responses, “At once they left their nets and followed him,” and “immediately they left their boat and their father and followed Him.” What we witness here is a complete surrender to a life of Christ by the first Apostles and they are in no way different than our need to surrender to His Will in everything in our lives today. I’ve heard people say, “I turn to God when I need something or when I experience troubles in my life.” But God wants us to worship Him continuously without fear, without hesitation and without distraction. He wants us to be “Fishers of Men and Women” sharing the Good News His Son brought to the world to accomplish the saving of souls by sharing His Truth allowing His Spirit to give them courage to repent and believe in the Gospel. Love your love of Christ and be a Fisher of Humanity.

And so we pray: Dear God, we pray today to always be the feet that bring the Good News proclaiming with our mouths the Gospel of Love. We pray our actions reflect a fisherman of sharing Your Son’s Salvation. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless,
Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

To proclaim with pride
Jesus Christ is Lord
Eternal Truth your guide
