Lord, I am not worthy to have You enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed. Matthew 8:8

Living to Glorify the Lord in all things allows your focus to be a on the Cross; where all Salvation is centered. Seek the Cross and the Graces of God will follow immediately. When we focus on ourselves and materialistic needs, the Cross becomes out of focus and our destination is detoured.
 
I too believe as the Centurion that I am not worthy to have Christ enter my house. I, a lowly sinner, lacking in self-control repents daily from a life of sin and selfishness. It is through my faith that I believe I am saved by His Grace and Blood at the Cross. Keep His Cross centered in your life and feel the forgiveness He purchased for Humanity. Love your love of Christ and be a Cross dweller.
 
And so we pray: Heavenly Father, today I pray for strength to accomplish my first ever colonoscopy. No food for 36 hours has taken its toll on my strength and I seek You to guide me this morning as I Lector to read Your Word at 6:30 AM Mass. I thank You Lord for all Your gifts and I seek Your Will. Guide us all to have faith, hope, charity and love for our fellow man, In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-28-2010

Let us then throw off the works of darkness (and) put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not in rivalry and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh. Romans 13:12-14
 
Isaiah 2:1-5, Psalm 122: 1-2, 3-4, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, Romans 13:11-14 & Matthew 24:37-44
 
The world seems to thrive on flesh and wearing too little too often. So much so I believe many women have lost their dignity when it comes to wearing clothes showing too much cleavage and skin. I am proud to say my wife has so much respect for this matter that she always wears something underneath her clothes to hide showing too much skin. It makes me proud of her decision to be dignified when wearing clothes in public and she is a model for all women to mimic. Paul reminds us of this in Romans 13: 12-14 when he writes “Let us then throw off the works of darkness (and) put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not in rivalry and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.” Amen.
 
If humanity at large followed the Way of the Lord and abided by His Word, I believe we would have less teenage pregnancies, less sexual assaults and less promiscuity. Teach your children the ways to conduct themselves with dignity and honor. Someone please stand-up and tell the youth of today that wearing your pants so we can see your underwear is an act of disrespect lacking proper dignity and honor. We as parents have a lot of teaching to do to correct what we have allowed main stream media to condone and promote. Our future depends on it. Loving your love of Christ allows you to walk in dignity and honor to seek the Will of the Lord and not your own agenda but the needs of sharing faith, hope, charity and love. Are you ready to meet the challenge to instill “Common Sense” into the youth of today for a better tomorrow?
 
And so we pray: My Lord and My God, we pray the youth of toady will seek Your ways to accomplish dignity and honor. We pray parents learn to teach their children respect for caring for themselves with joy of heart to end promiscuity in the world. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man. Luke 21:36

Revelation 22:1-7, Psalm 95:1-2, 3-5, 6-7ab & Luke 21:34-36

God’s grace flowing from the “Water of Life” literally means Christ Jesus Himself. Such special imagery giving one thoughts of life everlasting by a surrender to the Truth by His Redemption of sins for all humanity. The tree of life gives off fruit each month and the leaves are used for medicine to keep the people clean and healthy. This cleanliness comes from only One source: the Lamb of God Who shed His Blood on Calvary. The Light of God will shine forever more and “they will look upon His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. Night will be no more, nor will they need light from lamp or sun, for the Lord God shall give them light, and they shall reign forever and ever.” Revelation 22:4-5 Hallelujah!

When you live a life of loving your love of Christ, you do not live a life of drunkenness or carousing as Jesus reminds us in Luke 24:34, “Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise.” The anxieties of everyday life can be lifted away by a complete surrender in Christ Jesus in all things allowing you to feel a grace of God’s Armor in all you do. I am ready Lord for anything You give me because my Trust in You allows me to feel confident even to the point of death. Are you this confident in the Lord’s Salvation? “Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:36

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, may I always have the strength to worship You with confidence and vigilance. Be my Light to share Your Son’s Truth to anyone I meet. I ask this in Jesus Name. Amen.

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-26-2010

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will not pass away. Luke 21:33

Revelation 20:1-4, 11—21:2, Psalm 84:3, 4, 5-6a and 8a & Luke 21:29-33

In this chapter of Revelation, John refers to Satan as being chained up for a thousand years. Biblical scholars agree this amount of time is not be taken literally but as a symbol for a long period of time that Christ’s has overcome these forces of evil by His death and resurrection. The Son of God will judge according to our deeds and John emphasizes this in his statement, “The dead were judged according to their deeds, by what was written in the scrolls.” Revelation 20:12c Be faithful in living a life full of faith, hope, charity and love to accomplish the Will of God in all things.

We all have to be diligent as Christ states in His teachings in Luke 21:29-33 for the hour will come when judgment will fall upon the earth and those who are not ready will meet their final inspection. People have wondered about this for over 2000 years expecting the Second Coming of Christ to be imminent on several occasions. I say be prepared at all costs to accept His Call at any time day or night by your Practice, your Prayers and your Preaching. Today, I was mowing my neighbor’s yard who happens to be Muslim as a Thanksgiving treat of neighborly love. I was once again praising God in Psalm as children sat nearby watching and listening me sing Hillsongs’ album “Faith + Hope + Love” where as always one hand was raised high as the other gripped the mowers handle singing “It’s Your Love” at the top of my lungs. “And all the praise and glory to God, We sing Hallelujah sing Hallelujah, For the King has carried the Cross, He is risen from the grave. It’s Your love, It’s Your love, It’s Your love, That has saved me, It’s Your blood, It’s Your blood, It’s Your blood, That has cleaned me” all the while dancing behind a mower. I can see the difference in children reacting to a grown man singing and dancing in his front yard. My neighbor reminded me that it’s our eyes, our feet, our smile and our bodies that show forth our love of loving Christ. “It’s not us that save’s souls, it’s the Blood of Christ dripping on the Cross that saves souls by and through His Holy Spirit,” he said “We are the smiles of God who draw people near to say, ‘I want to have what he/she has.’” Be ready and ever diligent in being the eyes of Christ to share a smile of the One Who Saves.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we pray today for safe travels as I travel to share the Good News to people I meet in Orlando. I pray I always have the courage to sing and dance for You Lord to show others what loving their love of Christ can bring them. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-24-2010 Happy Thanksgiving America

God is faithful, and by Him you were called to fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:9

Today is a day in America we recognize many things about a group of Pilgrims who sailed to the “New World” in search of civil and religious liberty. First and foremost, these Pilgrims, the true first European Americans (everyone knows Indians were the first true Native Americans), asked God in prayer to guide them to joy and safety. These 106 (some accounts say 110) people encountered an impossible winter and over half the group died from starvation and cold. As spring set in, an Indian named Samoset walked into the camp stating “welcome” in English and this amazing fearless Indian stayed the night. He left the following morning only to return with the now famous “Squanto” who was an Indian who had sailed to England and Spain learning to communicate in English pretty good. It was by all accounts Squanto who taught them everything they needed to survive the next winter. He helped them plant corn by building rows of mounds and placing a fish in the soil to fertilize the plants. He taught them which plants was edible and poisonous helping them to grow different types of vegetables to store up for winter. By the fall of their first year, the Pilgrims had a bountiful harvest and decided to celebrate with a three-day feast of Thanksgiving to our God for a bountiful harvest. No doubt these Pilgrims were thankful for an Indian who was a God-sent establishing a settlement who could raise their own food to survive each winter.
 
This American tradition has gone through many types of transitions but was finally enacted into law by Congress in 1941. President George Washington issued the first Proclamation for a “Thanksgiving to God” in 1789 by stating, “Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor– and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.” We are a Christian Nation who established its government with divine guidance by and through the Word of God. We are in need as a Nation to unceasingly call out to God in thanks for His faithfulness to us as Paul describes in 1 Corinthians and relish the fellowship we all must embrace to give thanks for our strong nation in Christ. In loving our love of Christ Jesus, we return to Him each and every day giving thanks for His Salvation just as the man cleaned of leprosy did by our faith in the Father’s Promise.
 
Ands so we pray: Dear Abba Father, today we pray for our Nation of the United States of America calling out prayers of thanksgiving for Your love and guidance. May our young generation embrace Your Son’s Truth and His Words as guidance to remain strong and thankful in Your Holy Protection forever more. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Great and wonderful are Your works, Lord God almighty. Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations. Who will not fear You, Lord, or glorify Your Name? For You alone are Holy. All the nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed. Revelation 15:3-4

I can just hear the angels singing the song of Moses that comes from
Exodus 15:1-18 where the Israelites sang after their release from oppression from Egypt. How many of you sang after your surrender to a life of Christ? I can remember the day I was “saved” because I consciously made a decision to surrender to a life of Christ. Last night, I spent a couple of hours in the prison for our monthly Ultreya follow-up meeting for Kairos. Any one of the prisoners can come to this monthly prayer meeting event and listen to a short witness and Scripture reading and then we break into groups to discuss the Scripture. Last night I was asked to witness less than 10 minutes before going before 37 searching incarcerated souls. I opened to the Book of Matthew calling on the Holy Spirit to lead me. God lead me to Chapter 9 verse 37-38 where Jesus exclaims, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” I immediately knew God was asking me to talk about the harvest because we are so close to Thanksgiving where the original Thanksgiving was to be thankful to God for the harvest.
 
Studying Luke 21 today rang clear last night as I talked about the prisoners need to be the “laborers” for the abundant “harvest” of souls there within their walls of confinement. I talked about their need to be diligent even they are surrounded with adversity and hate. I reminded them that being Christian wasn’t ever going to be easy especially amongst people who have experienced such lifelong heartaches and poor choices. But now they have a choice to serve God with pride allowing them to be the eyes of Christ not wavering because of the toughness in appearance on the outside of some the inmates. I said, “You may walk by a guy who has tattoos everywhere looking as mean and ugly as can be. But remember; you can’t tell what that person has on the inside. He may be as soft as a kitten with a heart looking for God to enlighten his soul. Be God’s instruments of healing grace. And even you can change their toughness into a God-fearing saved soul.” When loving your love of Christ, people will hate you, even your own family will despise you but be ever resourceful and pray for them to come to know Christ as you have.
 
And so we pray: Heavenly Father, I pray today for all who are incarcerated that they may find Your Son’s Truth comforting and liberating because of His Salvation of Sins. I pray for guidance to accomplish Your Will Lord. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and cut the earth’s vintage. He threw it into the great wine press of God’s fury. Revelation 14:19

Revelation 14:14-19, Psalm 96:10, 11-12, 13 & Luke 21:5-11
 
The amazing symbolism of Revelation comes from so many parts of the Bible allowing one to visit history over and over again. God is promising there will be a gathering of the faithful in the final judgment (“Use Your sickle and reap the harvest, for the time to reap has come, because the earth’s harvest is fully ripe.” Revelation 14:15c) by living a life dedicated to God and His Son’s Truth. Similarly, God is promising He will use His judgment to execute His wrath in the symbols of cutting the vines and throwing them into the press God’s fury. “Use your sharp sickle and cut the clusters from the earth’s vines, for its grapes are ripe.” So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and cut the earth’s vintage. He threw it into the great wine press of God’s fury.” The wrath of God may not frighten some of humanity but it is something He will execute so to speak to those who do not follow His Commandments. In Deuteronomy 28:15, God describes a wrath of curses that will offer His judgment to the unfaithful, “But if you do not hearken to the voice of the LORD, your God, and are not careful to observe all His commandments which I enjoin on you today, all these curses shall come upon you and overwhelm you.” As Christians, it is our duty to live a life of Christ to help those escape the fires of hell. Avoid the “Eternal Fire” as Christ described in the Gospel of Matthew but living a life of faith, hope, charity and love. Be guided by His Truth every waking moment so you too can live in an Eternal Kingdom with all the faithful.
 
Jesus warns us time and time again not to be fooled by false prophets who create smokescreens of satisfaction in lies and false hope. “See that you not be deceived, for many will come in My Name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and ‘The time has come.’ Do not follow them!” Luke 21:8 Through all of these lies and false hope will arise wars and troubles for mankind, but Christ reminds us not to be afraid and to live your life in His Truth for even if they kill you because of your love of Christ, you will live in an Eternal Joy with all the faithful in heaven. I’ve watched a man take his last breath in this world before when my stepfather passed away some years ago. As he lay in that Hospice room with my mother by his side, I prayed God would take him to His Kingdom in Heaven and after he breathed his last breath, I prayed God would do as I asked even though he had lived a life of hate and ugliness towards different people. But I will never know if he joined the faithful through Christ’s forgiveness or if he’s has been eternally damned to fire, all I know is I want my life to represent a life of following His Ways to accomplish His New Covenant of faith, hope, charity and love. “The Lord is good and His love endures forever.” Psalm 100:5
 
And so we pray: My Lord and My God, today we finish our ninth day of praying for peace and healing for Chris Santello. This Novena of prayers for him will continue in our prayer life as I pray for all souls who seek Your Son’s Truth and guidance as Chris does. Grant us all the faith to live a life free from worries where our trust in Your Promise lasts forever more. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

On their lips no deceit has been found; they are unblemished. Revelation 14:5

Revelation 14:1-3, 4b-5, Psalm 24:1bc-2, 3-4ab, 5-6 & Luke 21:1-4

There are many items of joy to recognize here in this passage of Revelation. Mount Zion is a central location in the bible’s setting for God’s people to gather such as in; 2 Kings 19:30-31, Joel 2:32, Obadiah 1:17, Micah 4:6-8, and Zephaniah 3:12-20. In contrast to the beasts name being marked on the foreheads of pagans in Revelation 13:16-17, God’s Name and His Son’s Name are on their foreheads. While the virgins represent the first fruits because they are undefiled and did not indulge in idolatrous practices, they did not deny Christ as those do who are aligned with the Evil One seeking to destroy the Truth. When you live a life where no lies cross your lips, you are living a life filled with God’s Promise and you relish in the Truth to accomplish the Will of God.
 
Jesus Christ truly lived a life of poverty setting an example for His followers to endure. How many of you can say “I live a life free of material possessions?” Look around your house; trinkets, pictures, statues, clothes, shoes, etc, etc etc. The list goes on and on and on. But do we really need all this stuff? Why must we have 30 pair of pants or 100 shirts in a closet? Why must we have 5 televisions in a house? Jesus said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” Luke 21:3-4

When you can live a life void of material possessions, you are truly showing your love of loving Christ. Parents work more in today’s society than ever before forgoing the need each child they bear needs to learn respect, honor, compassion, charity and love. Many children of today’s lack a real desire to show respect to their elders which stems from parents working too much seeking a life full of self and material possessions. Take a moment each day and turn everything off and relish your children. Tell them stories about your past or your families past. My father used to say to us kids at Christmas, “we used to get a pair of tennis shoes at Christmas and when they wore out or you grew out of them, you just went barefoot.” I remember stories my dad would tell about just having fun with friends where not a dime was spent. Times too long past but needed to be reintroduced to society today; living a life void of self focused on giving instead of taking it now. God doesn’t want us to live past our means. He wants us to live in harmony with Him seeking only to accomplish His Will of faith, hope, charity and love. What can you give to the poor today? What can you tell a child today that will teach him/her respect?
 
And so we pray: Dear God, we continue our nine day of prayers for peace and healing of Chris Santello. Father God, we ask You today to teach us to be a people void of self where we learn to give and expect nothing in return. We ask this in Jesus Name. Amen.

He is the Head of the Body, the Church. He is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that in all things He himself might be preeminent. Colossians 1:18

2 Samuel 5:1-3, Psalm 122:1-2, 3-4, 4-5 , Colossians 1:12-20 & Luke 23:35-43
 
What an amazing feeling it must have been to be anointed “King of Israel.” “Here we are, your bone and your flesh,” describes all the tribes of Israel to David. “In days past, when Saul was our king, it was you who led the Israelites out and brought them back. And the LORD said to you, ‘You shall shepherd my people Israel and shall be commander of Israel.‘” And so it was, David became King David of all of Israel and  “David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned for forty years: seven years and six months in Hebron over Judah, and thirty-three years in Jerusalem over all Israel and Judah.” 2 Samuel 4-5 King David we learn became even more powerful because he trusted in the Lord and prayed to the Lord over everything. The bible tells us that David “inquired of the Lord” often and followed the Will of God in all things. There is no difference today in the way you conduct your life and by “inquiring of the Lord” over everything, you too will live the Will of God and be strengthened by His love.
 
Paul is addressing the congregation at Colossae because teachers were relating Christ to the cosmos in their order stressing angelic principalities and powers. These were connected with astral powers and cultic practices and rules about food and drink and ascetical disciplines. This practice Paul explains in his letter to the Colossians distracts from the work of Christ for Salvation and “are shadows of things to come; the reality belongs to Christ.” Colossians 2:17 Keeping us centered on the Salvation of Christ was Paul’s goal for all humanity realizing the need for mankind to focus on Christ’s death on the Cross conquering sin for all. The invisible God became flesh, “He is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of all creation. For in Him were created all things in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is the Head of the Body, the Church. He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that in all things He himself might be preeminent.” Colossians 1:15-18
 
Luke had an understanding many scholars have argued that the destiny of all Christians is to be with Jesus. I wear a crucifix depicting three crosses with Christ in the center of the two sinners who were crucified with Jesus reminding me of this passage where Christ gives Salvation to the thief who asks Jesus for forgiveness stating, “Jesus, remember me when you come into Your Kingdom.” He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” Many of you may not realize that Luke’s record is the only location in the Gospel where the thieves are mentioned. It is important to remember that we are all Brothers and Sisters in Christ and it is our duty as Christians to become One in the Body of Christ. Last night I met a pastor of a local church and we talked about our love of God and what Jesus meant to Humanity for the forgiveness of sins. He said, “There will be no religion in heaven, just Glory to God.” Let us remember to focus on the goal of sharing faith, hope, charity and love to follow Jesus and become One with Him. It is not our agenda but it is sharing the Salvation of Christ Jesus! Hallelujah!
 
And so we pray: My Lord and My God, we continue our nine day prayer for peace and healing of Chris Santello. I pray today for Pastor Brock Shiffer. May his love of Your Son’s Truth bring many souls to Your doors in Heaven. Have mercy on me, a lowly sinner, who wants nothing more than to Glorify You in all things. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the abyss will wage war against them and conquer them and kill them. Revelation 11:7
 
Revelation 11:4-12, Psalm 144:1, 2, 9-10 & Luke 20:27-40
 
This chapter of Revelation has many symbols coming form various areas of the bible. The lamp stands and olive trees represent martyrs who come from the Book of Zechariah 4:14; “These are the two anointed who stand by the LORD of the whole earth.” Details of turning water to blood come from Exodus where Moses turns the Nile River into blood. The Fire from Heaven comes from the Book Kings where the Prophet Elijah calls down fire from heaven. I believe the Lord is calling on us to understand that while the Evil One may conquer some or even kill the faithful, Our Lord and Our God will triumph over death by the raising of all the faithful who surrender to a life of worship and praise of our God.
 
We must remember our God is a God of the living as Jesus reminds us here in Luke, Chapter 20; “They can no longer die, for they are like angels; and they are the children of God because they are the ones who will rise. That the dead will rise even Moses made known in the passage about the bush, when he called ‘Lord’ the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive.” Luke 20: 36-38
 
Yesterday, I spoke to a lady who had worked for a church for 19 years and was abruptly let go because of cutbacks being implemented. I was happy to hear she took this instance to begin a ministry of visiting the sick. When I heard of her situation at my weekly prayer muffin Friday, I took her number and called her immediately to visit my friend Chris Santello. As we spoke about our love of God together, I felt the Holy Spirit calling me to pray with her before we hung up. We prayed for her desire to visit the sick, fulfill God’s Will in her life and that she find new direction by her faithful love of Christ Jesus. I am reminded of her today when Jesus speaks of our God who is a God of the living for to Him all are alive. Her new ministry of visiting the sick will lift up the spirits of those who are ill by her prayer and visitation allowing them to know our God is a God of the living even when the worst of illnesses will strike you by her being an instrument of faith, hope and love. While she missed Chris in the hospital because he had been discharged the day before, I know in my heart she will provide comfort and prayer for him and many others in the future as she fulfills God’s Divine Plan for herself. If you know anyone who is sick and could use a visit from a special Christ-filled lady, please let me know and I’ll pass along her phone number.
 
And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we continue our nine days of prayer for healing and peace for Chris Santello. We pray today for Beverly Scott whose desire to follow Your Light and visit the sick and lonely will bring the Eyes of Christ to those hurting, confused and depressed. Give her Your strength Lord to accomplish Your Will in her ministry and guide all who are sick to Your Praise for the Glory of You in Heaven. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
