Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Wig’s Word of God Tdoay 11-9-2010

Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16

Ezekiel 47:1-2, 8-9, 12, Psalm 46:2-3, 5-6, 8-9, 1 Corinthians 3:9c-11, 16-17 & John 2:13-22
Ezekiel was such a wise Prophet describing the Salvation of Mankind from a New Covenant where Humanity’s future would depend on our love of the One and Only True God. He explained we must give all thanksgiving to the True King writing humanity must have a new heart and spirit for the Lord living by His Ways. His description of the water in this passage translates into the visions he had of a utopian Israel void of hate and evil surrounded by the abundance of love from God in the Water of Life. Life cannot be so without God’s direction and love allowing us to be a temple of His Spirit in faith, hope and love.

Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3 we must give our bodies the respect and honor it deserves less we kill our bodies from lack of attention and abuse. Think about this for a moment: Your body is a Temple of God. Everything we put into our bodies for nutrition, every Word of the Bible we read and everything we do to our bodies in exercise develops and sustains God’s Temple. The Foundation of this temple is Christ Jesus and His love allows us to experience life like no other creature on this big beautiful green earth. If we choose to fill our bodies and mind with junk and evil, God will wear down your body and soul quicker garnishing a life of despair from aches, disease and soulistic breakdowns. I have witnessed this in close friends and strangers alike; without taking care of our God’s Temple, your warranty so to speak will expire quicker than you would by loving God’s Temple and nourishing it by moderate food consumption, exercise and feeding your mind/soul with His Word.

Jesus was angry His Father’s House was being used as a market place. The Church has a responsibility for providing a place of holiness and prayer for our manifestation of God’s Temple within us. Jesus was zealous for His Father and knew a place of worship was not a place to bargain for wares or livestock but a place of Holiness and Prayer. His disciples recalled the words of scripture, “Zeal for your house will consume me” brings us to Psalm 69:10, “Because zeal for Your House consumes Me, I am scorned by those who scorn You.” Using the Father’s House for a marketplace does not promote God’s Promise of Everlasting Life and Jesus rightfully so was upset. He told them to tear down the temple and He would rebuild it in three days time referring to His rising after death in three days. This small yet important detail continued to convince the Apostles that Jesus truly was the Christ; the Son of God.

And so we pray: Dear God, we pray today to live Your New Covenant through Your Son’s Gospel. We pray today to have strength to treat our bodies with love for Your Temple being conscious of our food intake, our exercise and our soul nutrition by reading Your Word each and every day. Help us to overcome the pain in our muscles when we begin taking care of Your Temple and guide us to be ever mindful of living Your Word in work and in play. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-8-2010

Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. Luke 17:3

 Titus 1:1-9, Psalm 24:1b-2, 3-4ab, 5-6 & Luke 17:1-6

How far have you gone in your surrender to Christ? Paul reminds us he is a slave to the Truth here in Titus as he explains to Titus how to go about selecting presbyters and bishops. You may lie to yourself about your surrender to Christ but God knows your heart and will judge accordingly. Let us hold fast to the true message centered in Christ and share the Gospel with the world as true Apostles of Christ Jesus. As humans, I believe we long to see the face of the Lord as Psalm 24 sings to us. However, you will need to be someone “whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean, who desires not what is vain.”

Just as the tax collector in Luke 18 stated in church beating his chest saying, “O God, be merciful to me a sinner,” Christ tells us here in Luke 17 that inevitably everyone is going to sin. It is what we do with our lives after we sin that produces a person of repentance who follows the Truth of Christ by practice, prayer and proclamation. Jesus reminds us to forgive those who seek forgiveness and increase your faith by your actions in faith, hope, charity and love. When you love your love of Christ, you forgive your enemies keeping a clean heart to receive His Eternal Promise.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we pray today to always be able to forgive, to always be able to share Your Son’s Truth and to always have faith to accomplish Your Will. May our lives be centered on Your Glory Lord. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Pray for us, so that the Word of the Lord may speed forward and be Glorified

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-7-2010

Pray for us, so that the Word of the Lord may speed forward and be glorified, as it did among you, and that we may be delivered from perverse and wicked people, for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. Thessalonians 3:1-4

2 Maccabees 7:1-2, 9-14, Psalm 17:1, 5-6, 8, 15, 2 Thessalonians 2:16-3:5  & Luke 20:27-38

To strengthen our work in Christ Jesus allows us a confidence bestowed on us by the grace of God. The Word of God is our source of all decisions in life and we must rely only on its divine teachings to accomplish His Will in all we do. In Luke 20, we learn how the Sadducees questioned Jesus denying that the resurrection of the dead was possible. They were a people of “high priestly stature” who didn’t like change and therefore rejected the notion of resurrection according to the Hebrew bible. Jesus reminds them that just as Moses called out to God saying, “‘Lord, ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and He is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive.”  Luke 20:38 Loving your love of Christ, we become alive in His love in life and in death. Be alive in Him as He is in you.

And so we pray: Father God, make us alive in You in all things allowing us to grow in life as in death seeking the Promise of Everlasting Life in Christ Jesus. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

You justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts; for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-6-2010

“You justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts; for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God.” Luke 16:15

God knows your heart and He teaches us to be subject to His Will. I am in Orlando visiting my son and I wanted so much to finish my study this morning before I left but problems with my internet at home prevented me from writing anything. The Will of God teaches us to be patient. Therefore, I will be completing my study on Sunday when I get back. Many will not get this short blurb for MSN only allows me to send out 200. I haven’t missed a day in almost 4 years. Today will be no different.

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we also await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-5-2010

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we also await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20

Philippians 3:17—4:1Psalm 122:1-2, 3-4ab, 4cd-5 & Luke 16:1-8

Paul wants us all to join with him in being an imitator of Christ and pray for those who have not found the love of our Savior. Model the behavior Jesus set before us when He walked among us here on earth. When we conclude there is nothing more important than giving our all to a life of Christ in a COMPLETE SURRENDER, we accept the challenge to give more, to help more and to love and pray more for those less fortunate than us. We become the low of the lowly and we seek to accomplish only His Will in our lives. Are you seeking the lowly? Are you tithing with passion for our Lord? Are you sharing faith, hope, charity, prayers and love? Live in a humble simplicity and stand firm for the Glory of God the Father by living a life of Christ’s example.

The Parable of the Dishonest Steward tells a story of being caught but repenting of his dishonest service to make himself look good to his master and those who owed his master a debt. The old saying, “everything was fine until I got caught” can be brought to light here: Are you stealing from your employer, your church or your family but haven’t been caught yet? I emphasize “yet.” Jesus is reminding us that sooner or later you are going to get caught and you will pay the price for your dishonesty be it losing your job, being embarrassed or going to jail. Sure the steward called in all the master’s debtors to lower their amounts owed but he did it to make himself look good and lost his own dishonest profits. When we are loving our love of Christ, we act according to His Ways by being prudent and honest in dealing with our employment, our church and our family. Think about this: Are you stealing from God by not paying your fair share to your church, your community or those in need?

And so we pray: My Lord and my God, we pray today for wisdom to keep our house in order to accomplish acts of charity and love of our community. May our surrender to You Lord be complete filled with the energy of Your care in our families, our communities and our work. We ask this in the Name of Jesus, Who lives and Reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.

I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-4-2010

I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance. Luke 15:7

Philippians 3:3-8aPsalm 105:2-3, 4-5, 6-7 & Luke 15:1-10

There’s no telling who you might meet in your day that will listen to you talk about the Gospel who will then accept the call of repentance and begin sharing the Gospel themselves. Just one person out of 100 could change the course of history by their acceptance of His Love. There comes a time in all of our lives that we must become confident in the Lord’s Promise and share His Son’s Truth with everyone we meet. As Paul explains, we put aside our desires of the flesh and worship God in Spirit through our confidence in Christ Jesus. I too feel there is nothing more important in my life than to Proclaim with confidence of the Salvation Christ Jesus brings to Humanity.

Why do we celebrate birthdays? Today I have reached the wonderful age of 48 yet I still feel 18. By my surrender to a life of Christ, everything about me has changed. Paul describes being blinded on the road to Damascus and in turn, I felt the blinding Light of an Angel telling me to “become a teacher of God’s children.” In seven short years, I have accepted His Call to seek the weary of heart and share His Good News with them. In loving my love of Christ, I have shed my desires of the flesh and sin seeking only that one in one hundred to help change the direction of history by Proclaiming the Gospel.

And so we pray: Dear Father, I pray today a prayer of thanksgiving for allowing me to celebrate my birthday in Your Son’s Truth. Guide me to be everything you want to be only seeking Your Will in all I do. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-3-2010

Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:27

Philippians 2:12-18, Psalm 27:1, 4, 13-14 & Luke 14:25-33

Paul’s message is clear: live your life loving God by fearing Him and not complaining. When you love your love of Christ, you live your life in a complete surrender to His Will knowing everything you experience is for His Glory celebrating each and every moment as a joy in Christ. God will come along and make sure you are challenged often. There will be times when life leads you down smooth highways and also bumpy roads. It’s how you react to the bumps that show your love of God. You can go fast and wreck or you can slow down and roll over each crest to see the other side clearly keeping your vision clear to obtain the goal of Christ’s Salvation. Stay focused and serious about sharing your love of Christ and God will bless you with graces of faith, hope and love.

God wants us to be confident in Him. Amen. By trusting in His Plan for you, His Light of Salvation will illuminate your very existence and you too shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever and ever. Christ reminds us we must follow Him without hating anyone allowing our love to shine in our soul for all to see. People will sometimes ask me if I’m a Preacher or a Priest because I know my eyes shine with a love of God in all that I do. By my actions more than my words are what draws people to me. There is a need to denounce material things when you pick up your Cross and follow Jesus. Even your family must come second when becoming a disciple of Christ Jesus. By loving your love of Christ you understand God’s Plan for you and you act upon it with confidence in the Lord allowing your family to know you are safe in your practice, prayer and proclamation of Christ Jesus.

And so we pray: My Lord and My God, I pray today to always have strength to carry Your Son’s Cross when it is heavy and when it is light. Make me unafraid to lift His Cross high in the air to be a beacon for people to be drawn to. Grant me this prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-2-2010

God proves His love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Psalm 23

Wisdom 3:1-9, Psalm 23:1-3a, 3b-4, 5, 6, Romans 5:5-11, Romans 6:3-9 & John 6:37-40

I used to think nobody really has the courage to die for somebody else. How could anyone give their life for me? As we grow in faith in Christ Jesus, we learn what Jesus endured for each of us in His scourging and death. The pain and torment He took for us, humanity, causes me to cry when I sit and think about it. Each lash of a whip. Each thorn driven into His forehead. Each punch or kick in His ribs. Each time He was spit on. Each nail driven into His Hands and Feet. Once when I was a child, I jumped out of my tree fort onto a nail going through my foot. Nothing compared to what Christ accepted for you and me. Just remember when you are going through something really tough at work, home or in the traffic, think it is nothing compared to what Jesus endured for you and praise His Holy Name because of it.

Psalm 23 was one of the first Psalms my Grandmother Carter ever read to me as a child. I didn’t understand it but I knew it had great meaning. Today I can indentify with it completely. My surrender to a Life of Christ lends faith to the descriptions King David shared with Humanity in Psalm 23. I trust in the Lord to guide me, to strengthen me to lead me along His Path of the sake of His Name. I have tremendous courage because of His Love and I am anointed to Preach His Son’s Truth. I will dwell in His care all the days of my life. The Lord tells us in John 6:37-40 that He will not reject anyone who comes to Him. By loving our love of Christ we can surrender to the feeling Psalm 23 and know He will accept us, a poor sinner, by His statement, “I will not reject anyone who comes to Me, because I came down from heaven not to do My own will but the will of the One who sent Me.” John 6:37-38

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we pray today for strength to accomplish Your Will in all things. Guide us to be strong in Your Word. Guide us to be faithful to Your Son’s Truth. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen

God Bless,

Justly souls rest in His care
Pain eludes them each prepare
By faith in His Word no letter to spare
By Proclaiming the Gospel of Truth we dare

Punished by people by laws of the land
No Truth was shared to overcome their ban
In His love He foretold with His Hand
The love of His Son overcame life’s span

All will shine from the joy of Truth
Upon His visitation their sins He will loose
Trust in Him through His Gospel of Truth
His Resurrection as evidentiary proof

I want nothing from my Sheppard of Love
His path of righteousness follows up above
I drink from cool waters with His precious Dove
My soul refreshed from His Heavenly shove

No evil I will run from in times of need
His Staff of courage I grip daily indeed
Death’s Valley is shinning by Redemption in He
Whose Blood covers Humanity forever to be

His hope does not disappoint

Salvation comes from our God, Who is seated on the throne, and from the Lamb

Wig’s Word of God Today 11-1-2010

Salvation comes from our God, Who is seated on the throne, and from the Lamb. Revelation 7:10

Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14, Psalm 24:1bc-2, 3-4ab, 5-6, 1 John 3:1-3 & Matthew 5:1-12a

The visions of John account for the end times but seem to have a comforting effect on humanity. God’s chosen people who have followed His Son’s Truth are afforded protection from the approaching destruction.  A multitude of people who come from all over the globe stand before the Throne in Heaven wearing the sign of joy in white robs while waving the signs of victory in a palm branch. Victory is ours sayeth the Lord of Lords and our Salvation only comes from our love of His Son. “Salvation comes from our God, Who is seated on the throne, and from the Lamb.” Revelation 7:10 I can just imagine the Angels in Heaven bowing before God exclaiming, “Amen. Blessing and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving, honor, power, and might be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 7:12 This passage of Revelation encourages us all to persevere in Christ even to the point of death knowing our reward will be great in Heaven as we enjoy eternal life. A friend of mine spent a year in Rome serving the poor and the hungry. He spoke about how many people died there for their love of Christ. These Martyrs endured unspeakable atrocities such as gouging of the eyes with hot pokers, fried in boiling oil or even having their arms and body parts hacked off by swords. History tells us that these men and women sung hymns up to the point of their death. Your surrender to Christ can give you the same confidence of a love so strong that you can endure anything your life has to offer here in the 20th Century.

God came to the earth as the meek of the meek and His descriptions of those who are blessed describes those who are as low as low can go. He gives the Kingdom of Heaven to the poor in spirit while comforting those who mourn. He gives the land to the meek while giving satisfaction to those who hunger or thirst. He shows mercy to the merciful and promises the clean of heart they will see God. He calls the peacemakers the Children of God and blesses those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness handing over to them the Keys to Heaven. Finally, He says, “Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in Heaven.” Matthew 5:11-12 By loving your love of Christ, you too are blessed and will see the Kingdom of Heaven.

And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we pray today for wisdom to always give to those who hunger or thirst seeking only a clean heart to accomplish Your Will. Guide us to be unafraid of sharing the Truth of Christ and be ever giving to those less fortunate than us. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost

Wig’s Word of God Today 10-31-2010

But You spare all things, because they are Yours, O LORD and lover of souls Wisdom 11:26
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost Luke 19:10

Wisdom 11:22-12:2, Psalm 145:1-2, 8-9, 10-11, 13, 14, 2 Thessalonians 1:11-2:2 & Luke 19:1-10

We live a life of love and forgiveness because of a great God Who overlooks our sins. Even before Christ came to shed His Blood for the Salvation of Souls, God instructed us that He would forgive our sins but our need to be convinced caused the Lord to send His Only Son to prove His Love for Humanity. I think one of the most famous versus from the Bible sheds more understanding on this in John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” The unknown author of The Book of Wisdom uses his amazing knowledge of Old Testament writings which is displayed throughout every verse in a book that allows us to relive his religious devotion. He explains to us that God’s Will created all things for the good of mankind and God would not create anything He hated He fashioned with His own hands. Let us all remain faithful to the call of Christ as reminded in 2 Thessalonians so “the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, in accord with the grace of our God and Lord Jesus Christ.”

If you’ve never climbed a tree before, I believe you’d climb one to get a glimpse of our Savior Christ Jesus. What an amazing opportunity it was for Jesus to use His love to convert a sinner with much wealth and as an example of His desire to save the lost at heart. Surely somewhere in America, a rich selfish person will hear this reading tomorrow in his church and know it is time for him to make a difference to those less fortunate than him. Jesus reminds us everyone in the world is a true descendant of Abraham and is offered complete Salvation for their love of Christ. In loving your love of Christ, you too are given Salvation from sins to live a life of faith, hope, charity and love for as Jesus said, “Today salvation has come to this house because this man too is a descendant of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.” Luke 19:9-10

And so we pray: Dear Everlasting God, we seek the forgiveness You grant us by Your Son’s death on a Cross. Let Him be glorified in us as we are lifted up by His Truth to share with the world. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Has Come to Find the Lost

The Universe is yet a grain of sand
God’s love spreads all over the land
In the trees and In the sea
Life is what God wanted to see

Yours sins He wants you to loose
Wisdom granted for those who choose
All things remain because of His Will
Nothing is void of His Truth to fulfill

Bless His Name forever more
Show gratefulness for His Holy works of love
Not a dance from a forgotten folklore
A Kingdom Glorified at Heaven’s Door

Be not alarmed when He comes to take you home
His Spirit will guide you to His Holy Throne
Angels will sing and dance for your sacrifice
A life lived in honor void of pain and strife

How fast can you climb a tree for Him?
As fast as you can seek forgiveness of sin?
You can run ahead in your daily thoughts
But God has His sights on you to carry His Cross

Sell your possessions and give to the poor
Salvation will come to your unlocked door
His Blood shed for you no matter the cost
The Son of Man has come to find the lost
